They both collided, trying to push each other back with their horns. “Once I’m done with you, I’m going to kill your friends one by one!” Spat Nightmare Moon, “Then, I’ll kill Celestia while you watch me. Once I’m done with her, I’ll kill you in the most agonising way I can.”
“If you think that’s going to work on me a second time then you can forget it!” Growled Twilight, doing her best to push Nightmare back further.
Nightmare realised this and pulled away, sidestepping to avoid the extra jab Twilight sent in her direction. In response to this Nightmare sent a wave of shadows towards Twilight which knocked her back into the hallway.
“Hey! That’s cheating” Snapped Twilight.
“I’m sorry” said Nightmare, sarcastically, “I don’t play by the rules” and sent another shadow wave towards Twilight, who quickly ducked under it.
“Celestia we’ve got to do something” Spike complained, “They’re going to end up killing each other.”
Celestia knew he was right, she let out a sigh and turned to face Twilight’s friends. “Girls, remember when you set off to find the Elements of Harmony?” she asked.
“What’s that got to do with anything?” asked Rainbow Dash before anyone else could.
“Well” she sighed, “you are the bearers of the Elements of Harmony.”
Back in the hallway, what was a violent battle was beginning to turn into an immature squabble siblings would have with each other.
“You’re pathetic Twilight.” Jeered Nightmare Moon.
“Well so are you, maybe even more so.” Replied Twilight.
“Will you two stop arguing? I want to see some action” Spike moaned.
Nightmare Moon sent a bolt of energy his way that turned the piece of popcorn, which was between his fingers, to ash.
“WAH” he cried out and ran back into the room he’d come from.
“Why didn’t you tell us about this before?” asked Rainbow dash.
“I had to be sure I was correct about you all, but now I am you need to--”
“Those two are definitely intent on killing each other” interrupted Spike.
“Spike dear” Rarity began, “it can’t possibly be that bad.” As soon as she looked out into the hallway her mouth went agape and her eyes wide, “Maybe it can be that bad” she added, walking back inside.
Celestia lit her horn and out of nowhere 5 necklaces and a crown appeared, “These are the Elements” she said and attached each of them to their particular bearer, “I can’t get the Element of Magic to Twilight, Nightmare Moon will see it coming and stop me before I even get it close to her.”
“Maybe I can help” Spike offered, “If I can distract Nightmare Moon long enough, then you can get the Element to Twilight.”
“Are you sure you can Spike?” Celestia asked.
“Of course I can” Grinned Spike.
Spike carefully climbed over the balcony wall and slowly made his way round the outside of the castle, via a ledge.
“Spike!” shouted Pinkie Pie.
“What!?” he snapped
“Don’t look down.”
“Oh, great” he muttered.
