//------------------------------// // Turn 5: The Search Begins // Story: Crossover Into Chaos // by dabestgamer //------------------------------// The officer with a dark gray uniform stepped into the pitch-black room. Closing the door, he erased any trace of an outside light source. He turned towards the center of the room where a control panel resided with several monitors, including a large master monitor. He sat down in the chair before it and began typing with the keys on the console. The image of a hooded man appeared on the large screen. “So, have you captured her?” the figure asked. “She should be being brought here as we speak. It is only a matter of time,” the officer replied. “Time may soon not be a luxury we have. If they catch onto us…” “They don’t suspect anything yet.” “‘Yet’,” the figure on the screen repeated sternly. “You don’t have to worry.” “I should hope so. One of them is working with you, Lieutenant.” “And he shall be kept in check until—” The officer found himself interrupted by the sound of the door opening behind him. In the doorway stood another, but in a light blue outfit. “Lieutenant, I apologize for the interruption, but I regret to inform you that the lab subject was unable to be recovered and is believed to have been taken by Yusei Fudo.” “So that brute failed us…” the lieutenant responded. “Yusei Fudo?” the man on the screen repeated, raising his voice with disgust. “We still know where our target is. And they don’t suspect that we know where they are. Rest assured, we can retrieve her.” “For your sake, you better. Over and out.” The screen shut off. The lieutenant turned towards the doorway. “Officer.” “Sir!” The man at the doorway responded, standing tall. “Have Officer Hogan meet me at the entrance.” “Right away!” “Ouch, that stings!” Twilight exclaimed. “Sorry, Twilight,” Akiza replied, removing the cloth from the back of the alicorn’s head. “But at least I can say that, from the looks of things, this injury isn’t too serious. We’ll have to keep it bandaged, just in case.” “Sure,” Twilight winced with a hiss, as Akiza reapplied the bandage around her head. “There. Wear that for a couple of days and it should heal completely.” “Thank you very much, Akiza.” “Don’t mention it. Anyway, I’ve never really worked with a pony before, so I hope this is enough.” “Worked? What do you mean by that?” “Sorry, I guess that was my education speaking there. I’m currently studying to become a doctor. But…” “Your studies revolve around humans, I’m guessing.” “Yeah.” “Well, if it is just a bump on the head, then this can’t be too different from what you would do normally for humans.” “I guess not. …Hey, is something wrong?” Twilight hung her head and looked down towards the bed sheets that covered her lower body. “I just… will your friends be able to find my crown? Will I ever be able to get back home…?” “Of course,” Akiza replied. “How can you be so sure?” “If Yusei has taught us anything… it’s to never give up.” “Sounds a bit cliché. What has he actually done?” “Along the coastline, there’s a bridge that connects the city to the Satellite Sector, an island just offshore. If it wasn’t for Yusei, that bridge wouldn’t exist and the city and Satellite may not have finally come to coexist peacefully.” “Really? What happened?” “It’s a long story. But to keep it short, Yusei strived to bring the two places together and is determined to create a better future for everyone.” “Wow…” Twilight suddenly felt her stomach growling. Akiza chuckled. “I guess you must be hungry.” “Yeah…” Twilight let out a nervous laugh. “I’ll make you a salad.” “Thanks.” “This search is getting nowhere,” Crow commented. “We have to find it, though,” Yusei replied. Both stood on a boat beneath the Duel Lane, waiting for the officers that dove into the water to surface. “It’s gotta be pretty important if you’re still insisting on finding it.” “It is.” “So what’s the big deal?” “When we retrieve the crown and get back home, I’ll let you know. I’m not sure it’d be a good idea to talk about it here.” “All right.” A sudden ring interrupted them. Crow pulled out his cell phone. “Hello?” Yusei glanced at his friend, waiting for the conversation to end. “All right… Got it…” he said, hanging up. Crow stood with a conflicted expression on his face. “What’s wrong, Crow?” Yusei asked. Crow remained silent. “Crow?” “It’s nothing, I… just have to send one of the officers to go get something.” “Get what exactly?” “It’s… confidential.” Yusei returned the silence. “…I understand. Let’s get back to the search.” “Right.” Crow said, dialing on his phone. “Wow, this is delicious,” Twilight complimented. “Thanks again, Akiza.” “You just focus on getting better for now, Twilight.” Twilight nodded then glanced out the window. “This place is a lot less... lush and green…” she thought. “It looks so… bare…” The sound of a door opening came through the stairway. “That might be Yusei. I’ll be right back,” Akiza said. “Okay,” Twilight replied, as she watched the red-haired human step down the stairs. Akiza entered the garage where her Duel Runner was stored. “Oh… hello, officer. How can I help you?” she asked. “You must be Akiza Izinski,” replied the officer. The angle of the helmet and the glass attached to it made it impossible to see his eyes. “Yes, that’s me.” “This is the home of Yusei Fudo, correct?” “Yeah, that’s right.” “Is he here right now?” “No, he’s out at the moment. I’m just watching over things here.” “Mind if I take a look around?” Akiza froze for a moment. “May I ask what you’re looking for?” The officer remained silent as he walked through the garage. “Don’t you need a warrant?” she asked. The man stopped and turned towards Akiza. “You know why I’m here.” Akiza suddenly felt a cryptic sensation in her right arm. “Where is it?” the officer asked. “I… I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she answered. “Don’t lie to me.” “Something isn’t right about him…” she thought. “Who are you? You’re not a real officer, are you?” The man stood still. Even if she couldn’t see his face, Akiza knew he was staring at her. He raised his left arm and activated his Duel Disk. “I’ll be taking the both of you,” he said. “Don’t try to resist us.” “‘Us’? What’s he talking about?” Akiza wondered, glaring at him while she reached for her Duel Disk. “You’ll do no such thing,” she responded, placing her Duel Disk on her arm and activating it. “How foolish,” the man replied, as they both drew five cards from their Decks. DUEL! Akiza (LP 4000) VS Enemy (LP 4000) “I’ll go first!” Akiza declared, drawing a sixth card. “I Summon Revival Rose in Attack Position!” Revival Rose LV: 4 ATK: 1300 “I’ll Set one card face-down and end my turn.” “Then it’s my move,” the man stated. “I activate the Field Spell Brain Research Lab!” The room began to shake as it began to take on the appearance of a laboratory. As the rumbling ended, Akiza glanced towards the stairway. She noticed Twilight peeking downstairs. “She’s here, isn’t she?” the man asked. Akiza remained silent. “No matter… like I said… I’ll take you both. Let’s continue… I Summon Doctor Cranium,” he continued. Doctor Cranium LV: 1 ATK: 100 “As I thought… a Psychic Deck…” Akiza thought. “Now I use the effect of Brain Research Lab. Once per turn, I can Normal Summon an additional Psychic-Type monster. I Tribute Doctor Cranium to Tribute Summon Overdrive Teleporter!” the man declared. Overdrive Teleporter LV: 6 ATK: 2100 “Because I used my Field Spell’s effect to perform an additional Summon, it gains a Psychic Counter.” Brain Research Lab Psychic Counters: 0 + 1 = 1 “Next, I activate Overdrive Teleporter’s effect! By paying 2000 Life Points, I can Special Summon two Level 3 Psychic-Type monsters from my Deck! Additionally, if I would pay Life Points to activate one of my Psychic-Type monster’s effects, I can add another Psychic Counter to my Field Spell instead!” Brain Research Lab Psychic Counters: 1 + 1 = 2 “Come forth! Psychic Commander and Serene Psychic Witch!” Psychic Commander LV: 3 ATK: 1400 Serene Psychic Witch LV: 3 ATK: 1400 “Three monsters in one turn?!” Akiza thought to herself. “Battle! Psychic Commander, attack Revival Rose!” the man commanded. His creature aimed its cannons at Akiza’s rose-like monster. “And now, by paying up to 500 Life Points in multiples of 100, I can decrease your monster’s ATK by the same amount!” Akiza scoffed. Enemy LP: 4000 – 500 = 3500 Revival Rose LV: 4 ATK: 1300 – 500 = 800 Psychic Commander’s cannon blasts struck the rose. “At this moment, I activate the effect of Hedge Guard from my hand!” Akiza stated. “By sending it to the Graveyard, I can prevent my monster from being destroyed by battle once! However, its ATK is halved after damage calculation.” 1400 – 800 = 600 Akiza LP: 4000 – 600 = 3400 Revival Rose LV: 4 ATK: 800 / 2 = 400 “No matter. Serene Psychic Witch, attack!” the man continued. His female creature extended its arm towards the rose. A shockwave emanated from the monster and vanquished Revival Rose. 1400 – 400 = 1000 Akiza LP: 3400 – 1000 = 2400 “Overdrive Teleport, direct attack!” The third psychic extended its arms towards Akiza, lightning bolts shooting out of its hands at her. Akiza screamed as she was struck from the blast. Akiza LP: 2400 – 2100 = 300 She fell to her knees. “The damage… it’s real… but how? This power I feel… only Psychic Duelists have it… could he be…?” Akiza wondered. “Akiza!” Twilight thought, worried. The man chuckled. “Such a shame. I was hoping to finish you this turn. Oh, well. I activate the Continuous Spell Field Barrier. This prevents my Field Spell from being destroyed and any others from activating. I end my turn,” he concluded. “My turn!” Akiza declared, rising to her feet. “I Summon the Tuner Monster Twilight Rose Knight!” Twilight Rose Knight LV: 3 ATK: 1000 “When this monster is Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or below Plant-Type monster from my hand! Come, Hedge Guard!” Hedge Guard LV: 3 ATK: 0 “I tune Level 3 Twilight Rose Knight with Level 3 Hedge Guard!” Akiza continued. “What the… what’s going on…?” Twilight wondered, watching the warrior transform into three green rings lining themselves up with Hedge Guard in the middle. 3 + 3 = 6 “Splendid hunter and dweller of the sacred forest, with your whip of punishment in hand, come forth now! Synchro Summon! Appear now, Splendid Rose!” Splendid Rose LV: 6 ATK: 2200 “Splendid Rose’s effect activates! By banishing a Plant-Type monster, I can halve the ATK of one of your monster’s until the End Phase! I banish Hedge Guard!” Akiza’s new monster grabbed one of its thorned whips and flung it at Overdrive Teleporter. The vine was wrapped tightly around it. Overdrive Teleporter LV: 6 ATK: 2100 / 2 = 1050 “Battle! Splendid Rose, attack Psychic Commander!” she commanded. Her monster leapt into the air. “Psychic Commander’s effect! By paying 500 Life Points, your monster’s ATK drops by 500 until the End Phase!” Cannon shots struck Akiza’s Splendid Rose. Enemy LP: 3500 – 500 = 3000 Splendid Rose LV: 6 ATK: 2200 – 500 = 1700 The Synchro Monster delivered a heavy kick, obliterating Psychic Commander. 1700 – 1400 = 300 Enemy LP: 3000 – 300 = 2700 “Splendid Rose’s other effect activates! By banishing a Plant-Type monster, I can halve its ATK until the End Phase and attack again. I banish another Hedge Guard!” Akiza stated. Splendid Rose LV: 6 ATK: 1700 / 2 = 850 “Go! Attack Overdrive Teleporter!” Her monster leapt into the air once more. “Are you a fool?” the man asked. “Even at half strength, Overdrive Teleporter’s ATK surpasses your Splendid Rose’s now.” Overdrive Teleporter LV: 6 ATK: 1050 “Who says I’m done?” Akiza replied. “What?” “From my hand, I activate the Quick-Play Spell Forbidden Lance! This decreases your monster’s ATK by 800 until the End Phase!” “No!” Overdrive Teleporter LV: 6 ATK: 1050 – 800 = 250 Akiza’s monster delivered another kick, vanquishing the man’s monster. 850 – 250 = 600 Enemy LP: 2700 – 600 = 2100 “During the End Phase, the effects of Psychic Commander and itself disappear. I end my turn,” she concluded. Splendid Rose LV: 6 ATK: 850 * 2 = 1700 + 500 = 2200 “I’m not sure what’s going on…” Twilight thought. “But it looks like Akiza’s gained the upper hand. I don’t like that other human’s laugh, though…” “Clever… very clever…” the man chuckled. “It’s my turn! Serene Psychic Witch, attack Splendid Rose!” “What?!” Akiza exclaimed. The man’s remaining psychic raised its hand, attempting to strike Akiza’s monster only to be countered and destroyed. 2200 – 1400 = 800 Enemy LP: 2100 – 800 = 1300 “When Serene Psychic Witch is destroyed, I can banish a Psychic-Type monster from my Deck with 2000 ATK or less. I banish Disharmony Core!” “What? ‘Disharmony Core’? I’ve never heard of that card before…” Akiza mumbled. “Now I’ll Normal Summon two monsters, thanks to Brain Research Lab! Appear now, Lifeforce Harmonizer and Psychic Snail!” the man continued. Lifeforce Harmonizer LV: 2 ATK: 800 Psychic Snail LV: 4 ATK: 1900 Brain Research Lab Psychic Counters: 2 + 1 = 3 He then grabbed the last card in his hand. “I’ll Set one card face-down and end my turn!” the man concluded. The opening of a door was heard. Akiza and the man turned to see Yusei standing by himself. “What’s going on here?” he asked. “Yusei!” Akiza called. “Why are you Dueling a Sector Security officer, Akiza?” “Yusei… this man… I don’t think he’s working under Sector Security.” “What do you mean?” “So this is where he lives after all…” the man mumbled. “You won’t win,” Akiza stated, turning towards her opponent. “It’s my turn!” “At this moment, the monster banished by Serene Psychic Witch is now Special Summoned to the field! Come, Tuner Monster… Disharmony Core!” Disharmony Core LV: 1 DEF: 0 “Did he say ‘Disharmony’? Akiza, be careful!” Yusei warned. “Got it!” Akiza replied. “It might be a Tuner Monster but it’s still my turn! I won’t let you Synchro Summon! Splendid Rose, attack Lifeforce Harmonizer!” Her monster jumped into the air. Splendid Rose LV: 6 ATK: 2200 Lifeforce Harmonizer LV: 2 ATK: 800 “With Splendid Rose at 2200 ATK and your Lifeforce Harmonizer at 800 ATK, you’ll take 1400 damage. However, you only have 1300 Life Points remaining. It ends here!” Enemy LP: 1300 “Is that so?” the man rebutted. “What?” Akiza responded. “I activate the Trap Urgent Tuning! During the Battle Phase, I can send Synchro Materials on my field to the Graveyard to perform a Synchro Summon!” “No way!” “Here it comes!” Yusei said. “I tune Level 1 Disharmony Core with Level 2 Lifeforce Harmonizer and Level 4 Psychic Snail!” the man stated. The Disharmony Core became a single black ring that surrounded the other two monsters. 1 + 2 + 4 = 7 “The balance shifts. Watch as true might emerges from the endless chaos! A psychic like no other! Synchro Summon! Come forth, Disharmony – Mind Buster!” Disharmony – Mind Buster LV: 7 ATK: 2400 A large humanoid creature with a demonic appearance descended behind the man. “It’s just like before…” Yusei thought. “I tune Level 1 Disharmony Spark with Level 3 Gyaku-Gire Panda and Level 4 Maji-Gire Panda!” Dobocle continued. His new creature rose and transformed into a single black ring, otherwise identical to the rings Yusei’s Junk Synchron had transformed into. The two large pandas rose into the ring and transformed into seven small black orbs, only to be enveloped by a dark pillar. 1 + 3 + 4 = 8 “A raging beast emerges! Tremble in fear as it arrives! Synchro Summon! Come forth, Disharmony – Fury King Panda!” A larger beast emerged from the blackness carrying the features of the two previous pandas and descended to Dobocle’s side. Disharmony – Fury King Panda LV: 8 ATK: 2700 “What is this monster…?” Yusei wondered. “I don’t know where they came from, but the fact that they’re appearing now can’t mean anything good,” Yusei thought. “When Mind Buster is Synchro Summoned, I can destroy a Synchro Monster on my opponent’s field!” the man declared. “What?!” Akiza exclaimed, as an explosion obliterated her monster. “Now what will you do?” the man taunted. “I Set a monster in face-down Defense Position and end my turn,” she concluded. “It’s my turn! Mind Buster, attack!” Lightning bolts fired from the demonic creature’s hands at Akiza’s monster, revealing itself. Lord Poison LV: 4 DEF: 1000 Akiza’s monster was vanquished. “When Lord Poison is destroyed by battle, I can Special Summon a Plant-Type monster from my Graveyard! Revive, Splendid Rose!” she declared. Splendid Rose LV: 6 ATK: 2200 “I’ll Set one card face-down and end my turn,” the man scoffed. “My turn!” Akiza stated. “I activate Splendid Rose’s effect! By banishing Lord Poison, I can halve your monster’s ATK until the End Phase!” Disharmony – Mind Buster LV: 7 ATK: 2400 / 2 = 1200 “Splendid Rose, attack Disharmony – Mind Buster!” she commanded. The man scoffed once more. “I now activate the Continuous Trap Overdoom Line! While this card is face-up, a Plant-Type monster that was Special Summoned from the Graveyard gains 1000 ATK!” Splendid Rose LV: 6 ATK: 2200 + 1000 = 3200 “It ends here,” she said. “Not quite,” the man countered. “What?” “I activate the Counter Trap Disharmonic Boost! If I control a “Disharmony” monster and you activate a card that changes a monster’s ATK or DEF, the Battle Phase immediately ends and the ATK and DEF of all face-up monsters returns to normal until the End Phase!” “This can’t be!” Splendid Rose LV: 6 ATK: 3200 – 1000 = 2200 Disharmony – Mind Buster LV: 7 ATK: 1200 * 2 = 2400 “In addition, if your monster’s original ATK is lower than mine, your monster is destroyed during the End Phase and you take damage equal to the difference!” the man exclaimed. Akiza scoffed. “I activate the Spell Magic Planter! By sending a Continuous Trap to the Graveyard, I can draw two cards. Then I place two cards face-down and end my turn!” A lightning bolt appeared from Mind Buster’s hands and vanquished Splendid Rose. 2400 – 2200 = 200 Akiza LP: 300 – 200 = 100 “Akiza…” Twilight thought, worried. “Only 100 Life Points left…” Yusei observed. “When a Level 5 or higher Plant-Type monster is destroyed, I can Special Summon Revival Rose from my Graveyard!” Akiza continued. Revival Rose LV: 4 DEF: 1300 "I end my turn," she concluded. “It’s my turn!” the man declared. “Go, Mind Buster! Attack Revival Rose!” “Not so fast! I activate the Continuous Trap Call of the Haunted! This lets me Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard! Revive, Twilight Rose Knight!” Akiza stated. Twilight Rose Knight LV: 3 ATK: 1000 “Next, I activate Urgent Tuning!” “You couldn’t be…” the man said. “You used this card yourself… so you should know what it does. I tune Level 3 Twilight Rose Knight with Level 4 Revival Rose!” The man scoffed. 3 + 4 = 7 “Chilling flames engulf the entire world. Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! Synchro Summon! Appear now, Black Rose Dragon!” Black Rose Dragon LV: 7 ATK: 2400 “Whoa…” Twilight mumbled, staring at the newly Summoned dragon. She then glanced at the light glowing on Akiza’s and Yusei’s right arms. “That light…” Struggling to see, Twilight soon noticed something bright in front of her. It was bright red, almost inviting. Almost… magical. “This light… so… warm…” Her strength began to slip away from her. She didn’t know who this “Yusei Fudo” was… but from her studies of magic, no light that was this bright and strong could be something she needed to fear… at least for the moment. “It’s the same…” Twilight mumbled. “I guess… this just confirms what they said… in a more solidified manner, anyway.” “When Black Rose Dragon is Synchro Summoned, I can destroy every card on the field! Go! Black Rose Gale!” Akiza commanded. A large gust blew through the room. “You won’t destroy my monster!” the man exclaimed. “At this moment, I activate another effect of Mind Buster! By paying 1000 Life Points, I can banish it until the next Standby Phase! However, I won’t be paying anything thanks to my Field Spell Brain Research Lab!” His demonic creature vanished from sight. Akiza’s dragon faded as well. Brain Research Lab Psychic Counters: 3 + 1 = 4 The man grabbed the remaining card in his hand. “In addition, even though Field Barrier is destroyed, my Field Spell is still safe. I Set one card face-down and end my turn!” “It’s my turn!” Akiza declared. “Return to me, Disharmony – Mind Buster!” the man shouted. Disharmony – Mind Buster LV: 7 ATK: 2400 “Too bad, Miss Izinski,” the man grinned. “Indeed. Too bad for you,” she replied. “What?” “I Summon the Tuner Monster Witch of the Black Rose!” Witch of the Black Rose LV: 4 ATK: 1700 “When this monster is Normal Summoned while I control no other cards, I draw one card from my Deck. However, if that card isn’t a monster, it gets sent to the Graveyard and my Witch is destroyed.” Akiza paused as she placed her hand on her Deck. “You can do it, Akiza,” Yusei thought. Twilight remained silent, yet anxious. “Here goes!” she declared, drawing her card. Yusei, Twilight, and the man noticed her grin. “The card I drew was a monster card… more specifically… Rose Fairy! When this card is added to my hand by a card effect, I can Special Summon it!” Rose Fairy LV: 3 ATK: 600 “Another Synchro Summon?” the man groaned. “Yes, but this time not from the Extra Deck,” Akiza smiled, grabbing the last card in her hand. “What do you mean by that?” “From my hand, I activate the Spell Card Shining Rebirth! This allows me to send Synchro Material monsters from my field to the Graveyard… to Synchro Summon a Synchro Monster from my Graveyard!” “Impossible!” “I tune Level 4 Witch of the Black Rose with Level 3 Rose Fairy!” 4 + 3 = 7 “Chilling flames engulf the entire world. Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! Synchro Summon! Revive, Black Rose Dragon!” Black Rose Dragon LV: 7 ATK: 2400 “Just like before... when Black Rose Dragon is Synchro Summoned, I can destroy all cards on the field! One more time! Black Rose Gale!” Another gust blew in the room. “It’s over, Officer. When Brain Research Lab leaves the field, you take 1000 points of damage for every Psychic Counter it has! Since it now has four, you’ll take 4000 points of damage!” “I won’t let it end here!” the man exclaimed. “I activate the Trap Card Dissonant Convergence! This card switches my Mind Buster to Defense Position!” Disharmony – Mind Buster LV: 7 DEF: 0 “In addition, this turn, all effect damage becomes 0 and my monster can’t be destroyed this turn while it remains in Defense Position!” The demonic being knelt down and braced itself. The laboratory-like scenery vanished as the room’s appearance returned to normal. “You won’t win that easily,” the man groaned. “Oh, no? I disagree,” Akiza countered. “What? Wait… your dragon! It’s still here!” “That’s right. Shining Rebirth prevents the Synchro Monster it Summons from being destroyed on the same turn.” “It doesn’t matter, though. I still have another turn,” the man replied. “I wonder about that,” Yusei stated. “What?” “This Duel… was decided as soon as Akiza drew Rose Fairy.” “No…” “I now activate Black Rose Dragon’s other effect,” Akiza continued. “By banishing the Plant-Type Rose Fairy from my Graveyard… I can switch your Defense Position monster into Attack Position and reduce its ATK to 0 until the End Phase! Rose Restriction!” Vines extended from the dragon and constricted Mind Buster. “This can’t be!” The man’s monster stood back up. Disharmony – Mind Buster LV: 7 ATK: 2400 – 2400 = 0 “It’s over! Black Rose Dragon, destroy Disharmony – Mind Buster!” Akiza commanded. “Black Rose Flare!” Fire covered in rose petals shot out of the dragon’s mouth, scorching the demonic being and reducing it to ashes. 2400 – 0 = 2400 Enemy LP: 1300 – 2400 = 0 The man collapsed onto the floor. Akiza breathed a sigh of relief as Yusei approached her side. “Good job, Akiza,” he congratulated. “Thanks, Yusei,” she replied. The two then looked towards the man wearing the Sector Security uniform… only to see that he was no longer in sight. “What?!” “Where’d he go?” “He just disappeared,” Twilight answered, entering the room. “Twilight?” Yusei responded. “I… saw the whole thing. Quite impressive, if I do say so myself. So I guess that’s… the Duel Monsters card game you were talking about before? Anyway… as for that human… after you won—so it looked like—I just saw him vanish into thin air. I thought humans couldn’t use magic!” “They don’t. Not normal people, anyway,” Yusei answered. “I don’t think he just simply… ‘disappeared’, either.” “What do you mean, Yusei?” Akiza asked. “Akiza, did this guy say anything suspicious to you when he came in?” “Yeah… he said he wanted to ‘take both of us’. As in Twilight and myself.” “And you said he wasn’t working under Sector Security?” “Right… I don’t think he was. Wait… Are you saying that…?” “Yeah.” Yusei paused. “I think… someone else is looking for Twilight.” Akiza and Twilight stared at Yusei, wide-eyed. The man groaned as he lay on the floor. “You are such a failure,” the lieutenant said, cracking his knuckles. “To think you would challenge them on your own. You sealed your own fate.” “But… sir… I…” “I thought I made it clear I wanted Officer Hogan to deal with them. But I guess normal humans can’t be trusted to follow direct, simple instructions.” The lieutenant raised his hand slightly, as it became covered in a dark aura. “No… sir… please… give me another chance…” “Oh, don’t worry. If you think I won’t make use of the rest of Sector Security… rest assured… I’ll still milk them for all they’re worth. Not that I’m counting on it. But who knows? They still have a chance to make me think highly of them. You, on the other hand… brought this upon yourself. I won’t tolerate such a humiliating failure.” The lieutenant stepped towards the broken man. “No… no…” the man begged. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” As loud as he was, his scream fell on deaf ears.
