//------------------------------// // You're Not My Doctor // Story: The Nights Of Wrong Dreams // by VedaQuila //------------------------------// After four days settling into her life again, Twilight was getting impatient waiting for the Doctor. She knew that even though time was his specialty he wasn't very good at keeping it. Twilight sighed. She watched as the rain fell down her window. Twilight gave a small smile as she remembered that Rainbow had made the weather team keep the storm held up for a bit just for her. But all that gathered up storm had burst free and had caused a mass storm two times the size it should have been. She frowned knowing it would take them days to get it under control an even longer to get rid of it completely. Deciding that she had her lot with sitting staring at the window and watching the rain, Twilight got up and moved to her closet. She pulled out her water proofs and wellies and made her way to the door. She pulled it open, and stepped out. A walk had to be good for her, right? She shivered as a stray raindrop fell down her neck. She started out towards the big grassy fields to the east of Ponyville. She trotted along, thinking how different Ponyville looked in the rain. She saw a familiar grey mare heading to sugar cube corner. She smiled and waved as the other mare took shelter inside, waving back as she did so. Once Ponyville was far behind and she was alone Twilight heard the familiar whirring noise of the Tardis. She looked over, back at the village, and there was that blue box, settling into existence. Twilight smiled and ran to the door, pushing it open and leaping in, taking down the other pony as she fell. She laughed as she hugged the Doctor. But as she heard him laugh, something was wrong. Then she spoke. "Dusk! You scared me!" It was exactly what he would say, but her name wasn't Dusk. And that it was not a mare's voice that was supposed to be there. Twilight looked up in fear, only to jump back from a pain in her heart. The pony in front of her was a mare. She wore the Doctor's coat, but it was a light blue shade instead of dark blue, and instead of a red bow tie, she had a pink bow. Twilight screamed. She turned and ran through the door to the Tardis, dashing through the rain towards Ponyville. "Wait! Please wait!" The mare shouted from behind her. "I don't mean you any harm!" She looked down as she heard a squelch, seeing thick gooey mud trap her hoof. Twilight tried to pull free, but her wellie came off. Thinking quickly, she pushed her wings out and grabbed the top of her boot in her mouth. With a small tug the boot finally came free and Twilight flew into the sky. She had to try really hard to go anywhere though because of the heavy downpour. "Please! Stop! Come back!" The mare called from below, chasing her and getting soaked. They looked the same, almost exactly the same when in the rain and running. But it brought that pain back to her heart. This wasn't her Doctor. Before she knew, Twilight had over taken the mare and was almost over Ponyville. She saw a light on in the library. Knowing she was within range she lit her horn. "I'm sorry. I don't know you." She whispered to the mare in the Doctor's skin. Suddenly a lavender light filled the air, and any unicorn could tell you that there was still some magic residue in the area. Twilight appeared soaking in the middle of the library. "Twilight!" Spike called rushing over. Spitting out her boot, Twilight sat down in a shaking heap. "S-Spike, I j-just saw something terrible. T-the Doctor..." She stammered, finally realising she was crying. Spike ran forward and took off her wet clothes and put them in the kitchen, grabbing a towel from upstairs before returning and putting it around Twilight's withers. "He- Well t-that's just it. He is a-a she."
