Voyager comes to Equestria

Chapter 1: The Energy.

Princess Celestia paced back and forth in her throne room trying to make sense of what was going on. The Minotaurs had openly declared war on Equestria unprovoked and were preparing to invade Equestria.

“Sister, calm down. There must be something we can do to stop this.” Luna said trying to calm her sister down.

“I’ve tried everything I can think of Luna, they just don’t seem to want to listen to reason.” Celestia retorted. “We don’t even know what has them so bent on attacking Equestria. It can’t be something as trivial as a land dispute, as the Miniatures live on the other side of the ocean.”

“Are you sure we can’t just use the Elements?” The Night Alicorn asked looking out a window.

“I’m afraid not. The Elements will only work if used on the source of the disharmony. If we don’t know the cause then they can’t fix it.” The Day Alicorn explained.

“Then what are we to do?” Luna asked.

“I don’t know Luna. I don’t know.

Captain’s Log; Stardate: 54870.6

It has been two weeks since Neelix left Voyager to be with his own kind and things on Voyager have slowly started to readjust itself. Seven, feeling her time wasn’t being efficiently used and having perfected her culinary skills before he left, has taken on the task of being the ships temporary cook. According to Lieutenant Tom Paris, she has managed to improve Neelix’s Leola root stew, probable because she doesn’t put it in.

We’ve recently picked up a strange unknown energy signature and have changed course to investigate.

The doors to the Astrometrix lab opened and Captain Kathryn Janeway entered.

“What have you found out Seven?” She asked the Ex-Borg standing at a control panel.

"Well Captain, the energy seems to be emanating from a small M-Class planet in space grid 87549. It appears to not only be the only planet with any form of life on it in the solar system but it also seems to be the only solar system for parsecs.” Seven of Nine explained pulling up an image of the area onto the monitor. “Unfortunately that’s all I can tell you at this time as this area of space is relatively unknown to the Borg. For whatever reason, we avoided this section of space at all costs.”

“Could it have something to do with the energy we've picked up?” Janeway asked looking at the monitor.

“It’s possible. The Borg have many records of this energy but have never investigated it.” She said thinking back to her time in the collective.

“Bridge to the Captain.” A voice said from the communication device.

“Go Ahead Chakotay”. The Captain said pressing the communicator on her uniform.

“We’re coming up on the source of the energy. You may want to take a look at this.” Chakotay said.

“On my way.” She said before turning to seven. “Keep me posted if you find out anything. If it can scare the Borg I want to know what it is.”

“Understood.” Seven said getting back to work as the captain left.

The doors of the Turbo Lift opened as the Captain and two random officers walk out.

“Captain on the Bridge.” A dark skinned Vulcan said standing at attention.

“At ease commander. Chakotay what have you found?” She said walking over to her second in command.

“As you’re no doubt aware the Energy seems to be coming from a small M-Class planet but that’s not all. We are also picking up large traces of Dilithium, Latinum, Rodinium, Trilithium, Tritanium, and many other rare metals, all coming from the planet.” Chakotay explained.

“What?” Janeway said astonished.

“Judging from the readings the planet would seem to be filled to the rim with them.” The Ex-Maquis said.

“Captain! We’re now with in visual range of the planet.” Ensign Harry Kim said looking up from his monitor.

“On Screen.” The Captain said sitting in her chair as he pushed some buttons and the planet appeared on the screen.

“What?”

“It can’t be.”

“Earth?” Captain Janeway said to herself getting out of her seat.

“Captain, I’m picking up humanoid life from the planet. Also the unknown energy seems to be radiating from the planet to the moon and the sun.” Harry Kim said looking at the sensor readings.

“The Sun?” She asked walking over to his station to see the readings for herself.

“I don’t know what to say, I've never see anything like it.” He said making room for the Captain.

All the senior officers as well as The Ships EMH (Emergency Medical Hologram), and Seven sat around the table in the ready room.

“Ok, so what have we found out? Kim?” Janeway asked turning to face him.

“Well, Captain the unknown energy is defiantly coming from the planet,” Ensign Kim said siting forward in his chair a little. “Also upon farther inspection it seems to be slightly similar to that of The Caretaker and of the being known as Q.”

“The Caretaker?” The Captain said to herself taken aback a bit. “What else?”

“Well Captain,” Seven of Nine said moving over to a wall console. “After many scans and analyses of the planet I have found something interesting.” She said pressing a few buttons and an image of the planet appeared. “At first I thought it was a glitch in the system but after running a level 5 diagnostic to make sure everything was working normally I’ve come to the conclusion that, for whatever reason, the planet doesn't turn.”

“What?” Janeway asked confused.

"Perhaps the planet just turns very slowly.” Chakotay suggested.

“That’s what I thought at first when it turned out the sensors were working normally, however that changed when I saw this.” The Ex-Borg said pressing a few buttons and making two images of the planet appear on the screen. “This is an image of the planet when it first came into visual range yesterday evening around 1800 hrs,“ She said making one of the images bigger. “And this is an image of the planet taken just half an hour ago.” She said doing the same with the other one before overlapping them.

“They’re the same.” Chief Engineer B'Elanna Paris said looking at them.

“Precisely. Even if the planet made one full rotation every 72 hours they wouldn't be an exact match.” Seven said nodding in B’Elanna’s direction. "I Have also found that the Sun seems to orbit the planet with all the other planets orbiting around the two."

“That Phenomenon, though possible, is highly unlikely as the gravitational pull coming from the planet is to week to pull anything larger than it's moon. The possibility of a planet of that size generating a gravitational pull large enough to effect it's sun is illogical.” Commander Tuvok said in an almost matter-of-fact tone.

“Nevertheless, logic is irrelevant as the Borg have encountered this phenomenon once before. However the sun supernovaed before we could study it properly." She said ending that part of the conversation. "I've also discovered that the planet is slightly smaller than earth and even though the planets continents are in a similar shape, they have an entirely different geographic landscape. For instance,” She said enlarging the part of the planet that looked like the South Atlantic Ocean. “The space between the continents resembling Africa and South America is significantly smaller. If I had to hazard a guess I would say you would be able to cross it in two or three days at its closest points even with the most basic of technology.

“More importantly however, I have localized the source of the unknown energy on the continent resembling North America. Coincidentally that is also where we’re picking up most of the precious metals.”

“Although it’s hard to get a proper reading duo to interference from the energy source, it would seem that most of the life on American like continents are equine and all the humanoid life are on the continents resembling Africa, Europe and Asia.” Harry said finishing off what they had found out.

“Well, I don’t know about you Captain but I say that’s probable case for an away mission.” Tom Pairs said leaning back in his chair.

“Agreed, Kim, Tom, and Tuvok, report to sick bay and prepare for the away mission. You leave as soon as we arrive.” Captain Janeway said standing up. “Demised.”

"Captain's log: Stardate 54874.3

"We've finally arrived at the strange earth like planet and have decided to send the Doctor down first to make sure the unknown energy isn't hazardous.

"I still don't see why I have to be the on to make sure it's safe." The Doctor complained walking into the transporter room.

"Because, as a hologram, you're the only one who is unaffected by toxic gasses and radiations." Kim said readying the transporter.

"So you're using me as the proverbial Canary, sending me down the mine shaft to check for gas leaks." He deadpanned.

"Aw, don't think of it like that Doc," Tom said handing him some equipment. "Just think, you're going to be the first off worlder to set foot on this planet. Think of yourself as one of the many great explorers in history. A lot of them first set out to make sure it was safe for everyone else."

"True." He admitted walking onto the transporter.

"Ready for transport?" Kim asked looking at the Doctor.

"Alright let's get this over with. Energize." The EMH program said before being beamed down to the planet's surface.

Once the Doctor fully materialized on the surface he looked around at his surroundings. He was standing on top of a cliff in the middle of a large forest. To his left was a patch of a strange blue flower and a couple of hoof shaped tracks that lead around it and deeper into the forest. In the valley below where many rocks with jewels sticking out of them.

"Are you alright Doctor?" The Captain asked over the com system.

"Yes Captain, I'm perfectly fine." The Doctor said pulling out a tricorder. "The air seems to be breathable and the unknown energy doesn't seem to be harmful." He said as he continued to scan the area.

"Alright hang tight we're sending the rest of the away team down." She said.

A minute later Harry Kim, Tom Paris, and Tuvok materialized in the clearing.

"Well this place looks nice." Tom said looking around.

"Ya it does." Harry agreed pulling out another tricorder, Tuvok doing the same.

"I wonder what this plant is?" The Lieutenant asked crouching down to get a better look.

"Perhaps you should take a sample for analysis Lieutenant. It may prove useful in helping us better understand the planets ecosystem." The dark skinned Vulcan said also looking at the plant.

"Alright." Tom said pulling a jar from his bag and reaching forward.

"Uh oh, guys I'm picking up life signs." Kim said just as what looked like a small butter yellow horse jumped out of a nearby bush.

"Calm down Ensign, It's probably just a part of the local wildlife, and it doesn't appear to be hostile." Tuvok said pointing his tricorder at it.

"Um.. excuse me but your friend there better not touch that plant. It's called Poison Joke and it's very dangerous." The small horse said startling the away team.

"It...it talked!" Tom said shocked.
