Celestia and Diamond Dust were fighting. Diamond Dust had already frozen part of the room. Several ponies, including Lyra, Bon-Bon, and Silver Spoon were watching from a distance.
Silver Spoon cried a bit. She wondered why her friend was acting like this, why she went to the windigos in the first place.
Celestia’s sword clashed with Diamond Dust’s horn.
Diamond Dust said, “You think you have a chance?” unaware that Silver Spoon was watching.
Celestia said, “Why do you walk this path? Why did you side with them?”
Diamond Dust hesitated a bit.
Celestia said, “You don’t really know, do you?”
Diamond Dust said, “I know it’s my destiny!” She used her horn as ice shards formed around her. She launched the ice shards at Celestia.
Celestia cast a spell. A yellow beam emerged from her horn and melted the ice shards. The beam hit Diamond Dust.
Diamond Dust’s left wing broke off as a result of Celestia’s spell. Diamond Dust said, “Enough!” She cast a spell, and an ethereal azure beam emitted from her horn of ice.
Celestia cast a spell of her own. Her horn glowed a sunny bright yellow.
The light became beams and clashed. Everypony fled in panic.
Outside, Cadence and Shining Armor battled Chrysalis. They charged the changeling queen, but she flew above them and dodged the attack.
Chrysalis used her horn to fire a green beam. Shining Armor tried to use his protection spells, but his magic fizzled.
The beam hit the two, but a barrier emerged and stopped the spell. Both Shining Armor and Chrysalis were surprised.
Twilight and her friends caught up to her brother and foalsitter.
Shining Armor noticed Twilight. “Twili!”
Chrysalis was shocked. She glared at Twilight. “You!”
The mares walked up to Cadence and Shining Armor.
Twilight said, “You okay?”
Shining Armor nodded.
Chrysalis bellowed, “It doesn't matter! No matter what happens, your love will fuel my powers and the city will be doomed.”
“You’re wrong!” Cadence said. “You don’t even know a thing about love!”
Chrysalis began charging her magic.
The Elements of Harmony began to glow. Twilight said. “Shining, your barrier!”
Shining Armor tried to cast his spell. His magic fizzled again. “I can’t. She drained me of my strength.”
“My love will give you strength,” Cadence said.
Chrysalis continued her charge. Cadence used her magic to augment Shining Armor’s. The Elements glowed brighter and brighter.
A rainbow light emerged from the Elements as Shining Armor and Cadence erected their barrier.
Chrysalis tried to halt her charge. “No!”
The force from the two events repelled the changelings and destroyed half of the windigos.
“Noooooooooooooooooooooo!” Chrysalis was propelled two hundred feet into the air and flung beyond Equestria along with her army.
Shining Armor nearly collapsed.
“You okay?” Cadence said.
“Yeah, I’m alright.” Shining Armor stood up.
The group saw Celestia being thrown out of the castle. Celestia recovered and confronted Diamond Dust. They also saw the windigos returning.
The group were baffled by this turn of events. The changelings were gone, but the windigos were still here.
“Come on!” Twilight said. The group went to aid Celestia as the sun under her command set.
Diamond Dust trotted out of the castle. She said, “You’re good.”
Celestia saw that some of the windigos were still here. One of them went into the tiara of her opponent.
Celestia said, “They’re using you. They want the seals unlocked so that they can freeze Equestria over.”
“What are you talking about?” Diamond Dust said.
“They want to free their true ruler from imprisonment. You are a pawn of their schemes.”
“I am not a pawn,” Diamond Dust said. “I’m their queen!” She began using her horn. Ice beams emerge from her horn to try and freeze Celestia.
Celestia dodged the spells. She saw another pegasus heading towards Diamond Dust.
Gale Force finally caught up to Diamond Dust. He bellowed, “Murderer!” as he charged at her with rage.
Diamond Dust dodged the attack, and froze Gale Force’s wings. The bezerk pegasus tried to fly but crashed into one of the walls.
“Now then,” Diamond Dust said. “Where were we?”
“No,” Legion whispered. “We must retreat. Our forces have been halved.”
“But why?” Diamond Dust whispered.
“Those mares are stronger than I anticipated. We must recover and retreat. We will strike soon, after these pests are gone,” Legion whispered.
Diamond Dust groaned. She said, “You’re lucky. But your luck will run out soon enough.”
Diamond Dust cast a spell and a sphere of blue and white light surrounded her. The windigos entered the sphere and after a few minutes, it vanished.
Twilight’s group had entered the wedding room.
Twilight said, “Princess! What happened?”
Just then, Luna descended from the night sky. She took a look at the mostly frozen city.
Celestia said, “We have to talk, but not here.”
The group left to get Spike and the unconscious Crusaders. Then they went into the main hall.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders woke up in the school again.
“Oh, come on!” Sweetie Belle said.
“This time loop’s getting annoying,” Apple Bloom said.
“It was annoying two cycles ago!” Scootaloo said.
They saw Featherweight fly away again. They were tired of the sight. They couldn't apologize because in most of the cycles, Applejack, Rarity and Rainbow Dash were not there, or because the mob runs them out before they have a chance to apologize.
After school was over, the fillies went to find their sisters again, but Rarity wasn’t in Carousel Boutique, Applejack wasn’t at Sweet Apple Acres, and neither Rainbow Dash nor her sign with the Foal Free Press were in the pathway she trains in.
They went to their clubhouse.
“Ugh, what do we do?” Apple Bloom said.
“Maybe we can get our cutie marks in time traveling?” Sweetie Belle said.
“You’re thinking about cutie marks now?” Scootaloo said.
The three fillies went home after a few minutes. They prayed that this nightmare would end.
