It had happened. Finally happened. The impact was strong, though not physical.

Rainbow Dash sat there, staring at the folded uniform in her hooves, shaking. A moment she'd dreamed of for so long, something she'd sometimes felt was impossible and so far away. A moment she'd imagined in several different ways, but didn't amount to what was really happening now. None of it was like she'd imagined, not in the slightest. Everything about this moment had the pure wave of emotions in realizing that it was more than just talk. More than just daydreams. It was truly happening.

She grinned widely, letting out an excited squeal as she hugged the uniform. Her own Wonderbolts uniform. An itinerary sat on the table, outlining the events taking place throughout next week. A brand new pair of flight goggles, a gift from a special friend, sat next to it.

"YEAH!!!" She cried, placing the uniform down again.

Before she could think further, there was a knock at the door, snapping her out of her reverie. Dash blinked, realizing where she was. In her home, alone, and somepony was at the door. Grumbling to herself, she went to the door, trying to hold back the urge to chew out whoever was there for interrupting her moment.

Upon opening it, she found a smiling and curious Fluttershy on her doorstep. All at once, her resolve melted away, bringing forth the big grin on her face.

"Hey, Fluttershy!" She greeted her with a kiss. "What'cha doing here?"

Fluttershy blinked, then giggled. "What do you mean, Rainbow? You didn't show up to your party, and so I told the girls I'd come out and find you."

"My par-oh!" That was when Dash remembered exactly where she had to be. At Sugarcube Corner, where Pinkie was hosting a congratulatory party in her honour. "Heh heh...sorry, I guess I kinda lost track of the time."

"That's all right, Rainbow. You were just excited," Fluttershy assured her. "I can understand that. We were just wondering where you were, that's all."

"Still," Rainbow shrugged, indicating to her uniform, "it just felt so awesome to finally make it, you know? I guess I needed a few minutes to let it sink in."

Nodding in understanding, the creamy yellow mare nuzzled her. "Of course, the impact really must have taken its toll, didn't it?"

Nuzzling back, Dash nodded in agreement. It was astounding that she'd been so wrapped up in her excitement, that she nearly missed her own party, which never happened before. Pinkie's parties were always something you never could forget. 

But it seemed that Fluttershy was right, the impact of the situation truly knocked her for a few loops.

"Looking forward to next week?" Fluttershy asked with a smile.

"You bet I am!" Rainbow grinned widely, nodding. "It's gonna be great! So, don't miss me too much!"

Rolling her eyes, Fluttershy nudged her lightly. "I wouldn't dream of it."

With a laugh, Rainbow Dash drew her lover close and kissed her sweetly. Fluttershy responded in kind, making the cyan pegasus tingle with excitement.

"You ready to go?" Fluttershy asked upon parting.

Rainbow nodded, smiling more, "I am now."
