2:08 pm in the canterlot throne room:

A tan earth pony was enquiring to the princesses of the day and night who sat at the end of the hall on a pair of thrones raised higher then the rest of the room. Celestia commanded silence signified by raising her hoof into the air so she could give her answer, " Mayor mare, I know the escape of discord caused massive trauma and any property damaged or missing in ponyville as a result of chaos will be reimbursed by the Canterlot royal treasury but I will not grant your request for royal guards as a security force in the town. They were no match for discords power anyway". As she said this the 2 guards standing at their post by the throne shifted uncomfortably as their shortcomings were addressed.

"Furthermore" celestia continued, "If you still see crime as a problem then recruit a police force for ponyville but lack of crime rates to be above a minimal level that doesn't get resolved by the local residents means there's no need for canterlot to lower its military force and use funding to transport supplies.". 

Mayor mare wasn't quick to take no for an answer "But!" was all she could splutter out cut off by another hoof being raised and her look while still understanding and caring had a hint of stern in it. 

"It has been decided. There is no more to speak of." spoke celestia, nopony said anything for a few seconds but eye contact was locked. 

Finally the silence was broken by luna "THOU REQUEST HAST BEEN DENIED!OURSELF AND OUR SISTER MUST CONCLUDE THIS MEETING, NOW BEGONE PONY!". The Earth pony eyes were wide open with shrunk pupils and mouth hung slightly agape from the shock.

Celestia brought her back to reality speaking again "I agree, guards please escort the mayor back to the canterlot train station, we're not accepting any more business proposals, thank you." 

Both guards saluted in unison " Yes ma'am!" they walked on both sides of the mayor, she turned to face the door and started walking but took one more look at luna absolutely speechless.

Seeing the 3 ponies walk to the large throne room doors closing them leaving the 2 princesses by themselves, celestia turned to her sister with concern "Luna, times have changed and old equestrian has become an obsolete language, if you want to try and fit in this new time you should change your manner of speaking to one like mine, please say you will practice.", it hurt celestia to teach this to her sister as the guilt of being responsible for sending her to the moon for a thousand years wracked her. 

Luna concentrated and managed a reply "I...will dear sister." Trying to pull off a reassuring smile but giving a painfully strained smile that trembled before snapping back to a frown.

Celestia admired her efforts and tried to instill comfort "luna, please..." she trailed off her as her eyes went wide, without warning a golden aura surrounded celestias horn and lunas body, next she was violently thrown across the hall sliding on the floor then hitting the doors with a thud.

The sudden blow slowed down her senses as she tried to groggily open her eyes attempting to stand up but falling down again her vision slowly returned seeing celestia still on the throne head bowed she struggled to get words out but as the sight disappeared when she blinked she looked up again to see the room had drastically changed. Celestia was nowhere to be seen the wall behind where the thrones used to be now had a large hole revealing blue skies in the horizon,dust clouds wondered aimlessly as the alien object laid in the middle of the floor, the dull gray metal was in stark contrast of the brightly coloured carpets and black and white checkered marble floors, covered and surrounded by rubble and parts of the Castle it had flown through. 

She could hear muffled voices as her hearing was still damaged looking around guards had already arrived on the scene with different orders, some stood guard by luna as doctors tended to her injuries, others searched the rubble looking for anything that could have been buried, unicorn guards lifted large piles of stone while the pegasi teams monitored for any damaged pillars that needed reinforcement before the room suffered any more structural collapse. One more group of guards caught lunas eye as they were all pointing spears at a figure she could not see, desperate to understand the situation and to find what happened to her sister she called out ignoring doctors pleas for her to rest "WHAT CREATURE DARE ATTACK CANTERLOT CASTLE?". This got the guards attention for a second before returning their gaze to the unconscious body on the floor, two of the guards parted keeping spears pointed at the slump revealing a mammal just larger then luna in a black sleeved shirt, trousers and boots with black gloves showing 4 fingers and a thumb, it's features involved a small nose, round ears on both sides of its head and being completely bald except for a pair of dark eyebrows and short stubble like ginger hair on top. It's eyes stayed closed and life was indicated by a slow breathing, the shock of a unknown creature looking like it belonged to a whole undiscovered civilization was finally too much to take in and the princess of the night blacked out.


7:48pm the same day in the royal canterlot infirmary:

"Luna.....Luna...." a voice slowly started getting closer to her in her sleep "Luna...." 

She smiled "Tia, is that you?".

There was a pause for a few seconds before the voice came back "Erm...no.", lunas eyes flew open and was met with a colt with bright blue fur and a mane of medium dark hair styled oddly looking down at her with a goofy smile. "Now don't panic,you're in the royal infirmary, I'm your doctor but you can just call me JD. But how weird would it be if I was celestia..." luna watched as the pony she was supposed to be in the care of drifted into a daydream for 12 seconds before snapping out it rambling "...that would be best game of basketball ever.".


The dread was building in luna until suddenly JD was pulled out of view and another unicorn colt with dark green fur and short ginger mane apologized "sorry your highness, I just asked him to take your blood pressure, if we left you with him he'd get you to play snooker with the moon.", he looked to his side and whistled "Hey frilly filly, next time you try something like that I will fire you into the evergreen forest with a catapult made from the malpractice lawsuits filed against you,also put that doctors coat back where you found it before somepony as stupid as you thinks you're an actual doctor.". Luna could hear clopping noises and then a door was shut, finally the doctor turned his attention back to her.

"Sorry again princess but I've got your scan results here." The doctor levitated a clipboard up to his face flipping through the pages, "There was quite some trauma to your spine, wings and legs and a concussion, everything else was cuts and scrapes healed up by our unicorn team with advanced spells.Naturally you need to rest if you want to make a quick recovery from this." Luna wasn't used to laying down as a leader should be in charge and constantly performing royal duties, even on the moon during the dark times she searched for resources, made plans for revenge upon her return and even carved her image onto the moon to instill fear upon those which used to be her subjects. 

Now she was incapable of getting out of bed when the realization hit her "THE MOON!WE MUST RAISE THE MOON!", she wriggled and squirmed finding her movements restricted by bandages and sharp pains, the doctor put his forehooves on her chest holding her down taking care not to injure her further.

He tried talking between movements to stop her falling out of bed "Princess! Stop...struggling!It's..." a flailing leg knocked his jaw to the side making both of them still. Attempting to repress his anger he slowly put his forehooves back on the floor and spoke in a voice like a low growl, "Ok 1:that hurt, 2:Don't shout like that again, you'll burst the other eardrum my wife didn't destroy and 3:Celestia has a select group of unicorns trained to raise the sun and moon should something happen to her, okay?" but luna started moving about urgently again. Rolling his eyes he impatiently said "What now??". 

She took note of his inappropriate behaviour to royalty for a second and remembered her question blurting out "Celestia?Where is she?".

The doctor looked to the ground with a sorrowful expression "All the rubble was cleared from the throne room but there was no sign of her.", then he looked back to luna "For now please get some rest, we can discharge you in a few days if your recovery stays on track.". 

Luna recomposed herself and focused on her voice again. "Very well doctor, I will rest. Leave me so I can slumber." she huffed out in a annoyed tone.". 

The doctor nodded and started walking out muttering under his breath "I'd love to board the first train out of this nuthouse."

A few hours later the Princess of the night lay awake in solitude, thinking about everything that had happened in a day. Her sister had disappeared, no clues as to whether she's even alive or dead, a whole new species, no civilization had presented themselves but it needs to be investigated whether this was a accident, a introductory custom or in the worst case scenario a invasion force meaning the royal guards should be informed to watch out for more attacks!But it was difficult to move in her injured state,She drifted into her mind so a plan could be made.
