//------------------------------// // Entry 24 // Story: The Luna Diaries // by The-rogue-shadow //------------------------------// Dear Diary, Today is the day of Heart Song and Soul Fire’s play on the fall of Nightmare moon. Doctor Neuron assures me that I am well enough to attend, as long as I keep warm. I definitely feel better; the pressure in my head has subsided, I’m not passing out at random intervals, and while strength has not returned to my limbs, I’m able to get myself out of my bed. But even so, I am very nervous about going out tonight. None of the current era’s citizens really know the truth about what happened during the reign of Nightmare moon, regardless of the many books written since. Most of them are legends told by the survivors, or speculation made up of word of mouth. But all of them have been muddied by my sister and her vast network of spies that made sure that it was only Nightmare Moon that was slandered, not Princess Luna. *** When the evening came finally, Tia came to my room and helped me get ready for the night out, as she rightly assumed that I was still quite weak. She was already in her ‘mother’ disguise, complete with her round glasses and blue sapphire necklace. As she was cleaning my mane, I told her all about my idea for Moonfire’s back story and I was pleased to see that she seemed excited about the prospect of being a Ponyville lawyer. We continued to write our back story as I got ready, eventually deciding that Tia was a single mother and that Moonfire’s father had walked out on them after deciding that he preferred the company of stallions compared to mares. It might have been one best things we have done together, and all it consisted of was making up a story. Maybe meeting Heartstrings' cousin Quill Scratch won’t be so bad. Writing is fun. *** Just got back from the theatre and I’m felling… unsure The show was entitled; ‘Into the Nightmare’ and was heavily focussed on Nightmare Moon’s creation, before it jumped forward in time to the point when Tia uses the elements of harmony to banish me to the moon. Heart Song was playing me, providing the audience with a truly terrifying force on stage, complete with unrealistic dagger like teeth and the ability to summon lightning. It was hard not to react in any way, not only because of the fact that Aurora was seated next to me, but also because I didn’t want to cause a scene by leaving… or crying. There were a few moments that dredged up a lot of horrible memories.
