Keys to the Past

Pinkie approached Hammerheart with some important information about the recording they found on Arctika.

"Commander Hammerheart," She said, "I have uncovered another transmission from the traitor. We should review it before launching another mission."

Hammerheart asked Pinkie what she found.

"Like Spike, I have been trying to identify the traitor using our shipboard cogitators." She said.

"Have you made any progress?" Applejack asked.

"... Of a sort." Pinkie said, "This message was in our own transmission tomes."

Pinkie played the newest portion of the recording, and it was still distorted. *Pegalos has us charging around the sector on the Retribution.* the warped voice said. *They know about me, or at least that I exist. Only the vox cloak invocator had masked my identity thus far.*

The message stopped there, and Pinkie brought up a realization about the anonymous voice.

"The traitor is here, aboard the Retribution." She said. "It is one of us."

Hammerheart located the Access Point on the space hulk and brought focus upon the area.

"We need to reactivate the ancient logic engine aboard the Harbinger of Damnation." said Spike. "To recover the proper activation rites, you must locate the dataslates hidden in the surrounding decks. Because you will be operating deep within the space hulk, the Retribution can only offer very limited support. Wings will be useless in the confined space, although teleportation magic should work."

"How do we know the logic engine has not been destroyed?" Hammerheart asked.

"The logic engine is secured in a sealed vault." said Spike. "Only the engine's activation rites will open the vault and grant us access."

Hammerheart looked to Twilight with a sort of rhetorical question. "What dangers do we face?"

"Xenos and daemons infest the Harbinger of Damnation, Commander." said Twilight. "But the lingering Warp energies in the ship pose a far graver danger. With prolonged exposure, such energies could drive even the bravest Pony Marine to madness. The boarding party should return to the Retribution as soon as it can."
