It was a beautiful night in Ponyville. Twilight and company had heard recent news that there was gonna be a meteor shower happening tonight.
“Twilight, are you sure that you need all of this for the meteor shower?” Spike asked having a large wagon full of stuff that
Twilight asked him to carry, including things like a telescope, and a few books.
“Of course Spike.” Twilight told Spike. “I need to collect meteor samples to see how they affect unicorn magic. A lot of the tools are needed to tell where the meteors land and to be able to collect them.”
“Alright” Spike answered. “If it’s important then I guess we’ll need it.”
After checking to make sure everything they needed was in the wagon, Spike and Twilight headed towards their rendezvous point that they made with their friends, the place they stayed at during the last meteor shower.
“Twilight, what’s with all them there doo-hickeys?” Applejack asked pointing to the wagon of stuff.
“It’s complicated” Twilight answered.
“Well, don’t worry about all of that stuff right now Twilight” Rarity told her friend. “We have a wonderful picnic for everypony.”
Rarity had set up the blanket and ordered all of the food in a specific order so that way it was ordered for there to be etiquette (which AJ highly rejected). All of the food was delicious, and everyone felt that they should have another picnic like this some time again. Pretty soon, the meteor shower started. The scene looked beautiful. While watching, Twilight made sure to make note of where everything. Rarity was taking pictures since Celestia had sent a camera to Twilight and
Co. asking them to take pictures to send with their next friendship report.
“Um…Twilight,” Fluttershy nervously began. “Can I ask you something?”
“Uh, sure Fluttershy,” Twilight permitted “but can it wait? I’m kind of busy”
“But Twilight is it normal for it to look like a meteor’s heading straight towards us?” Fluttershy asked.
Twilight was confused. “What do you mean?” she asked. Fluttershy pointed towards the sky as a meteor was heading towards them. “Hit the deck!” Twilight shouted. Everypony nearby dropped down to the ground. The next thing anyone heard was a loud crashing sound.
“Sweet Celestia that was awesome!” Dash stated being the daredevil she was. Everypony walked over and checked out the impact site, which still had smoke emitting from it from the impact.
“Spike, the tongs please.” Twilight requested. Spike walked over to the wagon and grabbed the tongs. Twilight used her magic to levitate the tongs and try to excavate the meteor. But when she pulled on the object, she found that she hadn’t grabbed part of a rock, but rather she pulled off a piece of a cape.
Everyone was confused, but as the smoke started to clear, they found out that it wasn’t a meteor that had landed near them…but a pony; a gray unicorn stallion to be exact. He seemed to be bruised and bleeding.
“Quick, let’s get him to Ponyville hospital.” AJ told everypony. They all grabbed the unicorn and brought him towards the hospital, which unfortunately for them, was quite a walk away.
Ponyville hospital was, as normally expected, not very busy. There was no life threatening situations like a dragon rampaging through the town, a stampede of cows or bunnies, or even a swarm of ravenous insects. There were the…prolonged patients, but there weren’t that many anyway.
“Alright nurse, I guess I’ll be leaving now” the head doctor told the nurse at the front of the hospital.
“Very well sir.” The nurse nodded to him. However, just before the doctor could leave…
“Doctor, nurse, we’ve got an emergency” Twilight told the two ponies that were in the hospital.
“What’s wrong Miss Sparkle?” the doctor asked.
“We found this poor dude falling from the sky during the meteor shower.” Dash answered.
“We reckon he needs to be seen immediately.” Applejack continued.
“Very well.” The doctor nodded. “Let’s get him into the emergency room, stat!” He grabbed a nearby gurney and put the unicorn stallion on it, who only groaned in severe pain. The doctor and nurse wheeled him off to the ER.
“Oh, I sure hope he’s okay” Fluttershy spoke for everypony.
(Mystery pony's point of view)
I struggled opening my eyes on that morning. My hearing was muffled and my sight blurred. Even worse was that my head was beating like I just got a bad hangover. I was in pain to say the least. When I did open my eyes, I saw blobs of different colors. White, Yellow, Blue, lots of colors in front of me. One that was bigger then the rest was a large purple blob. I thought I heard someone ask "Are you awake-" and then the rest was inaudible. All I could do was utter a "Wha-?" sound. Slowly, my vision and hearing came back to me.
When the mysterious pony finally woke up, the mane 6 were watching
"Are you awake, sleepy-head?" Twilight asked. Unfortunately, she only got a "Wha-?" sound from him.
"That hit must have done more damage then we thought." Rarity answered. "Just look at him."
"I'm sure he's fine Rarity." Twilight told her friend. She was right in front of the mysterious stallion. She finally heard him groan...and speak.
"What's going on?" he asked.
"You're awake" Twilight answered. "Good. We were so worried about you."
"Wh-where am I?" he asked.
"You're in Ponyville Hospital" Twilight told him. "We found you outside, and-" she then heard a scream of terror from the stallion as he backed himself against the wall and started panting.
"What's going on?" he stuttered. "Wh-wh-who are you ponies!? Someone please explain this to me!"
"I believe I can answer this" the doctor told everypony as he entered the room.
"Doc, what's going on?" Twilight asked.
"Simple. He's in shock over ending up here." The doctor told the purple mare. "I believe he may not be familiar to this part of Equestria." The doctor then turned towards the stallion. "Now, let's start with something we all want to know. What's your name?"
"My...name?" the stallion asked.
"Yes, that's what I asked for." The doctor answered.
"My name is-" When he tried remembering, his mind seemed to get some sort of shock. Almost as if it was blocking something. Needless to say, the stallion ended up in pain.
"Well, spi it out. What's your name?" the doc asked
"I...I can't remember." he asked
Everyone in the room was shocked. "This is worse then I thought." The doc told everyone. "It seems this poor stallion is suffering from a case of severe amnesia. He doesn't seem to be able to remember anything. He may need to stay longer then planned.
"Is there anything we can do to help?" Fluttershy asked in her soft whisper she always talked in
"Well, now that you mention it, we do need to keep somepony here." The doctor told them. "Amnesia is a major case and since we can't be with every patient at once, someone has to keep an eye on him in case his memory starts returning."
"I'll do it." Twilight offerred. "After all, everyone else is probably already busy as it is."
"But Twilight, dear, what about your work?" Rarity asked.
"Oh don't worry. I could always hold off on that until afterwards." Twilight answered. "And Spike can hold down the library by himself."
"Alrighty then Twilight." Applejack replied. "We'll be on our way then." With that, everypony except Twilight left...well not everypony.
"Ooh, ooh, we should plan a party for you." Pinkie offerred to the stallion "One for when you get out of the hospital. There'll be cake and pie and ice cream and pie and more cake and pie and fruit punch. Oh and did I mention pie?" The stallion only gave Pinkie a confused look.
"Don't worry about her. She's always like that." Twilight told him.
"Does anyone know why?" he asked.
"The best answer we can get is that it's just her." Twilight answered.
"So, I'll see you two later." Pinkie told them "I've got to go plan this party. Maybe Gummy'll help me." With that, she hopped out of the room.
"Well, at least now you have something to look forward to." Twilight told him.
"Yeah, that's true." the stallion replied. Still, this is gonna be a long stay in the hospital.
