Chapter 2

(Takes place EXACTLY 1,000 years after previous chapter)

The sun had just began to rise, bits of light seeping in through the old and decaying structure. There in the center of the building stood a lone statue, a last attempt of freedom set in place one thousand years ago. One whose time of imprisonment was coming to an end. The time was about noon, the sun shone directly overhead through a collapsed part of the roof directly at the stone figure. All fell silent. There was a brief sparkle on the statues backside and from the tips of his now massive horns to his mighty hooves the stone crumbled away. For the first time in a thousand years he opened his eyes. The light blinded him, he hissed and retreated to the shadows. It felt normal to him. He slowly realized what he did. He moved. " I-I'm free?" He stopped. "My voice? It's....different." He looked down and saw his massive hooves. A short burst of panic flowed through him. He turned and looked behind him. A large mark now was displayed on his side, it appeared in the form of a snake biting the end of its tail forming a circle. "Wha?" He stumbled forward back into the light once again closing his eyes to shield them from the blinding sun. He slowly began to open his eyes glaring straight into the sky. " Where am I?" He paced around the open room pondering the situation he was in. " I-I remember...My name. My name is Millennium. But i was just a foal, not this." He looked at his ancient reflection in a broken window. "What happened to me?" He turned around to come face to face with the crumbling remains of his old prison. " This stone, FATHER!" Panic took him over. He turned in circles still not used to his now larger frame. "I have to help him, i still have....time." He paused looking at his surroundings. " This place, its crumbling, it looks....old. Oh no how long have i been here?" He didn't wait to find out, he stormed out the door in full gallop. Well tried.

He tripped and stumbled most of the way still adjusting to his now larger body. Eventually he found himself walking through the thick forest path. "This place, somethings off with it. It dosnt feel natural." He thought to himself. Further ahead something blocked his path. It resembled a light orange pile of fur. Its middle rising up and down methodically. He approached it with curiosity, but as he drew closer he discovered it was alive. Very alive. The massive beast easily twice his size rose from the ground and let out a horrendous roar. The sheer proximity he was to the roar was enough to blow Millennium back skidding a few feet. "Wow, you don't look to happy do you?" He said almost jokingly as the monster drew closer. It reared its massive paw into the air and swung down. But something stopped it. There was an almost un-seeable blur of color that bolted past him and into the beast. He opened his eyes from what seemed forever and saw a rainbow blob on top of his attacker. The beast stood up and ran off whimpering, the rainbow maned mare walked towards him with a look of concern and anger. "Hey whats the big deal! Don't you know these woods are filled with trouble!?" Millennium stood there still in shock from the her little display. "Hey you alive there!" She approached him with a new look of concern. "Hey? You alright?" She was but feet from him. "Hmm? Yes im ok. Thank you for your um, assistance." She came closer brushing against his side. " No problem, names Rainbow Dash. Whats an old coot like you doing in a dangerous place like this?" She seemed to ask with genuine concern. " Well truth is um Rainbow Dash, I'm not really sure." She tilted her head in confusion. "What'da mean you don't know?! Most ponies wouldn't even come in here if they had to! And I find you, some old guy out here alone." He turns at her with a look of annoyance. "Old! I'd have you know I'm...." He stared at the ground remembering his current form. "W-well why are you here then?" The question struck her, her face blushed red. "Well i guess i don't really have a reason myself." They shared a laugh. Then she asked. "Hey whats your name?" He hesitated telling her but it slipped out. " I'm Millennium" "Millennium eh? You don't sound like your from around here." That last part struck him. Here. " If you don't mind me asking where exactly is here?" "Well your in the Everfree Forest right now. But I just came from Ponyville. It's not that far from here. You know if your tired from...wherever you've been." She looked him up and down. He realized he was still covered in bits of stone and dust. " I could always show you the way there?" He pondered the offer for a moment. "Well a place to rest would be nice." Her face lit up for a moment. "Great! Then its settled. Follow me ill show you the way there. And with those words they were off. It felt strange to him, for however long he had been in that statue nothing really seemed that different from what he remembered. Except this "Ponyville". He couldn't remember a place with that name from before. Could it be a new town? The idea rambled around in his head before he finally asked. " So Rainbow? How long has this Ponyville been around?" She stopped and looked at him in confusion. " I don't know a while, maybe a hundred years? Why'd you ask?" One hundred years! The idea of that rung in his head. "Um...no reason, just curious." They walked in silence for a while, they crossed over the crest of a nearby hill and there it was in all of its humble glory. "So this is Ponyville? What a quint little town." "Yeah its pretty awesome. Hey! Let me introduce you to my friend, she knows everyone here. I'm sure she can help you get you a place to stay." He could barely hear her now, he was lost in thought. "Ive been gone for at least one hundred years.... That means, Father. Theres no way he'd still be around here." "Hey? Hey! You listening?" He shook out of his deep thought. " Oh sorry, yes that would be amazing. Thank you." " Heh no problem, always willing to help a pony in need." She looked up. " Been meaning to ask you? Whats with your horns? You a unicorn or something?" He twitched with shock at the question. "Oh those....."
