Lightning awoke as soon as Star called her name.

"Lightning wake up! You'll be late for the ENFS flight exam!" yelled Star Breeze from downstairs.

"Coming cuz! I'll be down soon!" said Lightning. She had been living with her cousin after her parents died. 

Lightning flew downstairs and got on her coat, fedora, and some fake glasses that Silver gave her the day before she moved away to Manehatten. 

"Lightning be careful and have a great time." said Star

"Don't forget your lucky charm necklace. And make sure you fly according to the test course okay." said Star

"Star! It's okay cuz, I got it. Don't ya remeber my mentor?" said Lightning with a cock of the head.

"Sure do. Silver was a good little filly eh?" replied Star

2 years ago.

"Silver? Wh-wh- why are we here?" asked Lightning as she looked down from the mountain they were on.

"Today, we're gonna do steep dives like Rainbow Dash does when she does the sonic rainboom. I believe you can do the sonic lightningboom." said Silver.

"The-the-the sonic lightningboom? But-bu- thats-thats- just-jus th-a old ma-mare's ta-tail." replied Lightning.

"Well everypony thought the sonic rainboom was a mare's tail but it was real." said Silver

"Come on Lightning you can do it. I believe in you." said Silver with a pat on Lightning's mane.

"Okay, here it goes." said Lightning

Lightning flew up higher and higher and pointed her muzzle down towards the ground. She flew down faster and faster, an electrical currency travel through her mane.

"COME ON LIGHTNING! GO, GO, GO LIGHTNING!" yelled Silver as Lightning flew down faster like a jet. 

Lightning went down and down until......BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As Lightning hit the last cloud a shocking explosion appeared as she hit the cloud. Scaring ponies and amusing little fillies and colt. Lightning look behind her, the same trace of the Wonder Bolts appeared after her staying in one place instead of disappering. 

"Alright Lightning! That was....AWESOME!" screamed Silver as Lightning landed next to her.

"Hay, this is all thanks to you Silver." said Lightning.

"Hay, Lightning the sonic lightningboom didn't just happened either. Check it." said Silver and pointed to Lightning's flank.
Lightning turned and saw her cutiemark.
The fillies laughed and tackled each other.

Present Day
"Ok Lightning enough of the memories let's get going." said Star.
Both of the ponies laughed and hoofed each. They jumped and flew off to ENFS.
