2:00 PM, Rainbow Dash
Rainbow Dash was relaxing on a cloud, enjoying her day, when a package was dropped abruptly in her lap. She opened her eyes in surprise and scanned the surrounding location around her, looking for whoever might have dropped it. Nopony was there. Rainbow Dash checked her surroundings to see where she was.
"Jumping Christmas!" She exclaimed. The winds must have been very strong, as the cloud had drifted all the way to the Crystal Empire.
She looked back down at the package. On it was written: "Deliver to Fluttershy by 3:00 PM or else."
"What?" asked Rainbow Dash out loud. "Who could have dropped this?" She checked the package thoroughly to see if it had any clues. But no. Nothing. She shrugged, then decided to accept the challenge. She jumped off the cloud, freefalling for a little bit, before extending her wings and starting to soar towards Ponyville.
2:05 PM, Queen Chrysalis
Queen Chrysalis saw Rainbow Dash through the crystal ball she had. She cackled maliciously.
"Children. Come to me." she commanded. The Changelings did as they were told.
"Listen, darlings. That package that Rainbow Dash has right there? I saw who dropped it, and now I want it. It's probably an artifact of great power that nopony has yet to imagine. Get it for me. Now."
The Changelings bowed to Queen Chrysalis, then flew off, to Rainbow Dash.
2:10 PM, Fluttershy.
"Oh?" Fluttershy mumbled. "What've you got there, Angel?" Fluttershy reached down and took the letter from the bunny's mouth, She then opened it and read it.
"Expect a package from her." was all the letter had written inside it. "Her?" Fluttershy wondered. "Who's her?"
Fluttershy then noticed something about the hoofwriting.
"This hoofwriting...it looks like-"
2:30 PM, Twilight Sparkle
Twilight was anxiously waiting for the package to be delivered. "Oh, I sure hope they like the present I made for them."
"Oh, but they have to." she reassured herself. "You worked really hard on this present for them, Twilight. They'll love it. They will." And then she smiled to herself.
2:30 PM, Rainbow Dash
"Alright, Rainbow Dash. You can do this." The rainbow-maned Pegasus thought to herself as she continued down her flight path. She checked her watch. Just an hour and a half to go.
She lowered her watch and turned her eyes back in front of her.
"Fluttershy!" She exclaimed in happiness. The pink-maned pegasus was there, right in front of her, her wings beating softly. She also saw Twilight, with her new Alicorn wings, and Applejack floating right next to her, and-
"Applejack?! With wings?! Come on, you can do better than that." Rainbow Dash had almost been fooled, too. If it wasn't the fact that Applejack had wings, it was the fact that their eyes had that distinct look which gave away the fact that they were Changelings.
The Applejack Changeling immediately reverted back to it's normal form and charged at Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash threw the package into the air as hard as she could. She then caught the Applejack Changeling and threw it at the one that was in Twilight's form. They crashed into each other, then proceeded to plummet towards the surface of Equestria.
The Fluttershy one faked tears as best it could. But Rainbow Dash wouldn't buy it. She bucked the last Changeling right in the face, breaking it's nose, and effectively knocking it out. It, too, plummet to the ground.
At the end of all this, Rainbow Dash caught the package as it fell back down from where she threw it.
"Not even a sweat." She smiled despite herself.
2:45 PM, Queen Chrysalis
"I saw what happened." Queen Chrysalis growled at the broken and battered Changelings that had just returned. "You lot are pathetic."
Queen Chrysalis stood up. "I'll get it myself."
3:00 PM Destination.
Rainbow Dash landed lightly in front of Fluttershy's cottage. She knocked on the door. The knocking was quickly answered by the familiar yellow pegasus.
"Oh, hi, Rainbow Dash." Fluttershy said. "Please, come in."
"Not so fast!" came a voice from above.
Queen Chrysalis came crashing down, landing heavily and authoritatively in front of Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy squealed and backed away slowly in the cottage.
"Oh my. She looks mad." Fluttershy barely managed to squeak.
"Yeah. Probably still peeved about the day we whooped her-
"AS.....you mention that. You bring me to what I was about to say. I-"
Queen Chrysalis suddenly vanished in a burst of magic light. A soft chuckling sound came from behind Rainbow Dash.
It was Princess Celestia. "I have a very clear diagnosis for Queen Chrysalis."
"A diagnosis?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Yes. Her diagnosis is....butthurt." And then Princess Celestia flew away laughing.
"Ok, then..." Fluttershy said slowly as she stepped out of her cottage. "Well, that all happened really quickly. Anyways, what do you have for me?"
"Oh, right." Rainbow Dash handed Fluttershy the package. "Somepony dropped it in my lap while I was napping, and it said to deliver it to you. So, here I guess."
"Oh, thank you." Fluttershy graciously accepted the package. "Want to come in and open it with me?"
"Sure."
They both walked into the cottage and immediately settled in and opened the package.
They were both surprised to see what was inside.
It was two necklaces, with two halves of a golden heart that connected when put together. In each half was a picture. One half contained a picture of Rainbow Dash, and the other, a picture of Fluttershy.
"Oh, Rainbow Dash. I love it" Fluttershy said happily as she put on the necklace. "Thank you!" she embraced Rainbow Dash tightly.
"I do, too." said Rainbow Dash as she returned the embrace.
Just then, the door to the cottage burst open, and Twilight stood in the doorway.
"I'm so glad you two like the present I gave you. And sorry about the Changelings and Queen Chrysalis. They just kind of.....showed up....I guess..." Twilight shrugged awkwardly. "....well, bye."
And then she flew off, leaving Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy alone.
"You mean you didn't make these?" asked Fluttershy.
"Nope." said Rainbow Dash. "But this does answer the my previous question, which was where these came from in the first place."
Rainbow Dash took her necklace and pressed it against Fluttershy's. "They do look really nice, though."
And then they embraced.
Somewhere deep in another dimension, Queen Chrysalis was furious. "THAT was what I got banished for trying to obtain?! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"
1:45 PM Twilight Sparkle.
"Are you done, Twilight?" asked Princess Celestia.
"Yup. Just finished." Twilight replied happily.
"Great. Let's make a game out of this. Let's put this in a package and lead Rainbow Dash's nap cloud to the Crystal Empire just so I can dump the package in her lap and have her fly back and deliver it to Fluttershy."
"Why would you do that??" Twilight asked, shocked.
"Well, they don't call me Trollestia for nothing." and then Celestia made a trollface.
