//------------------------------// // Sisterly Love // Story: Help // by Dream Shine //------------------------------// Celestia stuffed her face into her pillow. At least her pillow didn't take pictures of her every five seconds, or set her up with a blind date, or insisted she were socks everyday. At least her pillow was soft and comforting, and didn't care if she cried after a long day. At least her pillow was always there on Celestia's bed, always there when she needed it the most. Sometimes Princess Celestia wished that ponies were more like pillows. The day had been long and tiring and aggravating as ever. The princess wished that she could just take a break for a while. No one had probably ever guessed, but she was just like everypony else, and needed a break sometimes. Every one in Equestria expected so much of her, and they never took into consideration that maybe, just maybe, the all-powerful Princess of the Sun was not perfect. And she wasn't. She knew she was being selfish, but the princess just couldn't help it. Everypony always thought that being a princess was the coolest thing ever, and that you could just have fun, and rule kingdom without any responsibility, and that other ponies would always respect you and bow to you. That's not what royalty is really like. There's tons of responsibility, and whenever something bad happens in the kingdom, you're the one to blame. You always have to fill out paperwork, meet with counsel members, and listen to your subjects' complaints. Worst of all, in public you're always treated like a god, with ponies bowing to you and thanking you. Whenever you just want to have fun with your subjects, they think you're being serious. Like if you tease them about their clothes, they would apologize and go change. You're never able to have just a fun, normal conversation with them. Celestia just couldn't take it anymore. She cried. She cried into her beloved pillow until she felt like she was out of tears. Being a princess was horrible. Then there was a soft knocking on her door. "Go a-away." Celestia sniffed. The door creaked open and Luna peered inside. "Sister, are you okay? I'm so sorry if I upset you." Celestia frowned. Not that it mattered, since her face was stuffed in a pillow. "Go away, Luna. You wouldn't understand what I'm going through, anyway." "Try me." So the princess told Luna everything. It felt good to get it out, and Luna carefully listened to everything thing her sister said. When she was finished, Luna spoke. "I totally get what you're going through. And how do you think I feel? Even after Nightmare Night, ponies still don't accept me! It's just a matter of getting used to. Life doesn't just do what we want it to. We just have to work hard, and do the right thing. Only that will make a pony really happy." Celestia wiped the tears from her eyes. "That was corny, but beautiful, Luna. Thank you." Luna nodded. "I have a surprise for you." she said excitedly. "What is it?" Celestia asked. A moment later, Luna returned with a beautiful silk dress. It was pearl pink with white lace around the edges, and when Celestia put it on, it fit her perfectly. "Oh, thank you so much, Luna! This was really thoughtful of you." Then she heard a small click and turned around. Luna smiled sheepishly with a camera in her hooves. "I just couldn't resist." Celestia laughed and hugged her sister. Luna smiled and hugged her back. "I'll be back here in the morning. I have another surprise for you." With that, Luna left Celestia alone in her room. ~~~ Celestia woke up bright lights in her face. About a dozen ponies in white robes were leaning over her with hairbrushes, make-up, and stylish accessories in their hooves. Luna stood in the middle of them. "ALRIGHT, PONIES! I NEED MAKE-UP, STAT!" Celestia groaned. If this was Luna's idea of a surprise, she was going to need her pillow now more than ever.
