Chapter two: shadows discovered
The train pulled into the station of the crystal empire.
Twilight and the others stepped onto the platform.
“So are we gonna meet princess Cadence?” said Applejack.
“No.” said Twilight. “The princess said this is to remain a complete secret.”
“Why?” said Rarity.
“Well there’s no point in worrying the crystal ponies.”
“I suppose...”
Twilight did realize that she was acting strangely, but Celestia’s task was just as weird and she had a strange feeling that this wouldn’t end in anything good.
They began looking around.
“So how are we gonna find him even if he is still alive?” said Rainbow.
“Celestia taught me a darkness tracking spell.” Said Twilight.
“Oh.”
“And this is likely to be a long journey so I packed along enough food to last us a couple week’s” said Twilight pointing at her saddle bag.
“Ok then let’s get moving.” Said Rainbow.
Twilight nodded then her horn got a dark aura around and when she moved her head in certain directions it got thicker.
“This way.” She said.
They tracked the shadow all day with little luck when the sun was finally down they made camp.
Rainbow dash was stuck in the same tent as Applejack, while Pinkie pie and Fluttershy slept in another with Twilight and Rarity in the last one.
“I’m not sure I trust Twilight right now.” said Rainbow.
“Ah’m not sure she trust’s herself.” Said Applejack.
“I’ll agree to that, but still she’s acting weird.”
“Ya ah know.”
“Should we do something about it?”
“well put yourself in her position, wha’ if you had been asked to hunt down king Sombra, wouldn’t you have mixed up feelin’s too?”
“I suppose.”
“well ah’m tired goodnigh’.”
“Goodnight.”
The next morning they all woke up and began tracking the king of shadows again.
They tracked him for half the day until they stopped.
“Based on these figures.” Said Twilight happily. “He should be a hundred meter’s forward.”
“Um Twi...” said Applejack tapping her and pointing forward.
Twilights jaw dropped. “No way!”
They all stared up at Canterlot castle.
“He was here all along?!!”
King Sombra stood in the Canterlot gardens in front of a large stone arch.
He knew it had some kind of magical function and how to activate it.
He just didn’t know what it did
He was surprised he was able to go so long with out being detected.
He also new someone was tailing him.
“HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!” came an adventures and slightly annoying voice.
“Ah, it seam’s their already here.” He thought smirking.
He turned around to see six ponies and a baby dragon.
“Well this is hardly a fair fight.” He chuckled. “I outnumber you one to six.”
“You’d better turn yourself in.” said the purple Alicorn who was clearly the leader.
“Ya, what she said.” Said a ridiculous looking pink earth pony.
“You actually think I’d do something like that?” he said.
“Alright then.” Said the Alicorn.
She fired a magenta ray at him.
He vanished then reformed in another spot.
Soon it was an all out brawl, darkness against harmony.”
The ponies he was fighting looked strangely familiar.
He tried to place were he had seen them before.
Then he looked at the purple and green baby dragon and remembered it all.
“The purple Alicorn is the pony that nearly grabbed the crystal heart, Twilight? Yes that’s right, and the dragon is the one who took the crystal heart to the princess, what was his name? Spiky wikey? Or something ridiculous like that, and the others were the ponies who helped keep the crystal ponies preoccupied... I hate them all already.” He thought.
He soon realized he couldn’t defeat these seven when they were together.
There was only one thing left to do.
He reformed in front of the arch.
And activated it.
Red energy began swirling in the arch and soon it was sucking them all in.
Twilight grabbed a stone with her hooves then her friends with her magic.
She couldn’t believe it; king Sombra had activated one of the ancient portals.
Her hooves were slipping.
The pull of the portal was irresistible.
Her hooves slipped and they were pulled in
Optimus prime walked threw the ground bridge and looked around at the bare grass.
he had instructed Ratchet to put him a few miles away to avoid getting spotted by any humans.
there didn't seem to be anything but grass for miles.
"wait... what is that?" he thought
he put his binoculars up to his eye's.
there was a small shack about five miles away.
there was something in front of it but he couldn't tell what it was.
he transformed and began driving towards the shack.
Chell was sitting on the cube playing eye-spy.
she now new the entire area for two miles in every direction.
"oh god I'm so alone." she thought
then there was a load noise.
"VROOOOOOMM!"
there was something coming towards her.
she picked up the portal gun and ran behind the shack.
the thing crashed through the grass and onto the cement.
it was a large red and blue vehicle.
"it's an automobile, truck, tractor or more commonly eighteen wheeler or semi." she thought. "well, now that we have that sorted, what's it doing here?"
part of her was screaming, "who cares! it's a way out of here!"
she decided to wait until the driver got out.
she got way more then she was asking for.
before her eye's the truck began rearranging itself like the panels of Aperture.
if she wasn't mute she would have screamed.
soon what was standing before her was no longer a semi but a giant metal man!
Chell had been through hell and back and almost nothing could scare her.
but this did, and she fainted.
