Twilight Sparkle was walking along Ponyville to go see her friend Pinkamena Diane Pie, or as she liked to be called Pinkie Pie. Normally the pink earth pony could be found at SugarCube Corner, but today the mare was at Sweet Apple Acres with Applejack to pick up some fresh apples for the treats she helps makes with the Cakes. As she walked to her farmer friend's home she walked into the bouncing pony she was looking for.
"Pinkie Pie, I was looking for you." Twilight stated as she looked at the earth pony.
"Hi Twi, why where looking for little old me?" Pinkie asked as she looked at her purple unicorn friend.
"I was going to ask you if you where going to be able to make it to our pet meeting today. I already asked the other girls if they could and they said they could." the unicorn stated as she looked at the party loving pony.
"Yeppie. I just need to take these apples back to SugarCube Coner and then I'll grab Gummie so we can get to the meeting." the pink earth pony replied with a bounce and left to do most likely the very thing she said, it's hard to tell with that mare some times.
Twilight walked back to her library home to find her friends already there, including Pinkie Pie. Spike was at the moment drooling over Rarity like always.
"I thought we agreed to hold the meeting one hour from now." Twililght stated as she looked at her friends with an exprestion that looked nervous.
"Well darling, we thought we start it sooner than planned. Isn't that right Fluttershy?" Rarity asked the shy light yellow pegasus.
"Um...yes. That is, if it's alright with you girls?" Fluttershy stated the question in almost a whisper.
"Come on Fluttershy, you don't always have to ask if something is alright." Rainbow Dash stated as she flew up to her friend.
"Now Rainbow Dash, you know that Fluttershy doesn't like it when you fly up to her like that." Applejack stated as she walked up to two of her friends.
Right before Rainbow and AJ could start an agruement about wheather it was better to try and make Fluttershy less timid or just let her be herself everypony in the room heard the sound of Spike burping up a scroll from Princess Celestia.
"A scroll from Princess Celestia, Spike?" Twilight asked her trusted assistant.
"Yes, and it looks important." Spike answered with a nod.
"Then read that there scroll already." Applejack replied as she and the others where curious what the princess of the sun would want to tell them after they just came back from the Crystal Empire and after they help get rid of the tyrant, King Sombra.
"To my dearest student, Twilight Sparkle
I need you and the rest of the bearers of the Elements of Harmony to come Canterlot at once. The world is at stake and I believe that the more time it takes for you and your friend to get here, the more we give more time for the vile pony or ponies to complete their plan.
Your teacher, Princess Celestia"
"Come on girls, there's something wrong and Princess Celestia believes we can stop it." Twilight stated after Spike read the scroll out loud for everypony to hear.
The Mane Six quickly went to the train station leaving Spike to take care of their pets and got on a train that just got to the station and quickly made it to Canterlot. As they ran to the castle where they quickly ran into Princess Luna who took them to the throne room where Celestia was pacing around the room in a nervus fashion.
"Princess Celestia, we'er here what did you want to talk about?" Twilight asked with some fear in her voice.
"Twilight, do you remember what I told you about Sombra?" Celestia asked as she looked at her student and her friends.
"Yes Princess Celestia. Why do you ask?" Twilight asked as she looked at her teacher with even more fear in her facial features.
"I never told you the full truth about him." Celestia replied as she looked at the stained windows showing the defeat of Nightmare Moon, Discord, Queen Chrysalis & her Changlings, and King Sombra.
"What are you saying there Princess Celestia?" Applejack asked as she looked at the suddenly depressed princess of the sun.
"What my sister is saying is that none of you know the whole truth of that unicorn." Luna answered as she stepped up to the Mane Six.
"So what about that big old meanie don't we know?" Pinkie Pie asked as she looked at the princesses.
"Sombra did indeed have a black heart, but there was only one pony that he loved. That very pony was his only son, Dark Bane." Celestia answered as she looked at the Mane Six with what looked like dread and fear.
"You mean that horrible stallion had a son? Was this Dark Bane at least a gentle colt?" Rarity asked the princesses in her fancing way of doing it.
"If by gentle colt you mean a near perfect clone of Sombra then yes he was." Luna answered with bitterness in her voice.
"Um Princess Luna...Why do you seem to not like this Dark Bane?" Fluttershy asked as she looked at the angry princess of the night.
"He tried to turn my into a mindless slave and his reasoning was that he simplely couldn't lose such beauty to anything." Luna answered with not only bitterness but also hate.
"I bet you exicuted that guy after you turned his dad into a shadow and got back to your castle." Rainbow Dash stated as she flew up and placed a hoove to her chest.
"We turned him into stone since he was nothing more but a colt that had just turned into a stallon, so he know little more than what his father taught him." Celestia stated as she looked at Rainbow Dash.
"So where is he?" Twilight asked her teacher with concern.
"He was in an area of the castle that only Celestia and I could get in to, but some how some pony was able to get to him." Luna answered with bitterness, hate, and bearly held anger.
"If he's been moved, how do we find him?" Pinkie Pie asked as she bounced around her friends and the princesses.
"Because who ever took him left this note." Luna stated as she levitated the note to Twilight.
Twilight started to read the note and her facial expression turning into flabbergasted.
I the Great and Powerful will release the Prince of the Crystal Empire to become his student and bring down the Elements of Harmony. Starting with a certain Element of Magic. I'm coming for you Sparkle.
"Trixie you idiot." Twilight stated causing the rest of the Mane Six to gasp.
"Who is this Trixie? Where can I find this pony? I'll make sure that this pony regrets taking Dark Bane from the Royal Palace!" Luna yelled every word with the royal voice causing every pony in the room to look scared at the anger of the princess of the night.
"Now now little Luna, I may love to see others in the state you're in right now, but on you, it makes me want to give you a hug." said a voice that sounded like Sombra's but was deeper and thunderous.
"DARK BANE!" Luna yelled with such anger and hate that it caused the room to shake a bit.
"What did I say little Luna? You're not as beautiful when you're full of anger or hate." Dark Bane stated as his voice cranked all the stainned glass windows.
"How are you talking to us?" Applejack yelled at the dsembodied voice of the prince of shadows.
"This little unicorn, that calls herself the Great and Powerful Trixie, has weaken the spell enough to crack the statue my body is imprisoned in enough to let my spirit to slip through." Dark Bane answered with a hint of enjoyment.
"What do you are planning to do to her afterwards?" Twilight asked worried for the annoying show pony.
"She wants to be great and powerful. I plan on making her that." Dark Bane answered as his voice echoed around the room.
"Even though I can't stand that pony, I have a feeling that he's going to hurt that not so darling show pony." Rarity stated as she looked at the others.
"WHERE ARE THOU SO I CAN RIP THOU'S HEAD OFF!" Luna yelled the order so loudly that she actually caused the Royal Canterlot Guards to take a couple of steps away from the princess out of fear that the source of her anger would appear around them and she might blast at the source.
"Only if it would calm you." Dark Bane replied with a tone that demanded to be listened to like that of the royal family.
"It will." Luna growled the reply as she glared at the ceiling.
"I'm at the castle that the two of you left to disarray in the Everfree Forest. This I swear upon the blood of my father that flows in my veins." Dark Bane stated as his voice was calming now some how.
"YOU'RE STONE! YOU HAVE NO BLOOD!" Luna yelled at the comment with pure rage causing the guards to actually hide behind Celestia.
"Sister, calm yourself!" Celestia yelled at her younger sister.
"Very well, I swear it upon the grave my mother is at in the center of the Crystal Empire graveyard." Dark Bane stated from being annoyed by Luna.
"Oh my." Fluttershy stated out of shock.
"Since you never lie about your family Dark Bane, I believe you." Celestia stated to the spirit.
"That's Prince Dark Bane, Princess Celestia. If I use your title I expect you to use mine." Dark Bane stated being annoyed by not being called his title.
As Dark Bane's statement ended there was a large and loud gust of wind leaving the throne room causing the doors to seem to throw themselves open, but a shadow of a pony was seen on the floor and walls.
"After him!" Twilight yelled as she and the rest of the Mane Six ran after the spirit.
After the girls ran after the spirit to the Everfree Forest and to the throne room of the old castle of the Royal Sisters, they saw that Trixie was standing in front of a majorly cracked statue of a pony that looked just like Sombra that was even wearing the same thing as the tyrant king, but had his mane and tail cut into a military style, and all the cracks had dark purple mist coming out of them.
"Trixie, don't release him!" Twilight yelled a little out of breath while the others (except Rainbow Dash) where breathing like they never had air before.
"To late Sparkle." Trixie stated as she blasted the statue.
The statue exploded into fire and dark magic shaking the very castle as if an earthquake was happening knocking all the girls down to the ground.
"I am free from my prison completely, let the world tremble beneath my hooves." Dark Bane stated as he walked up to the girls with a dark grin.
