Deep underground, the Changeling queen Chrysalis, battered and injured, limped through the damped tunnels to her bed chamber. Her Changeling army, or what was left of it, scattered through the other tunnels. Cursing under her breath, Chrysalis still remembers the humiliating memories of when Shining Armor and Princess Cadence using a mysterious spell to save Canterlot. After her army got separated, most of the Changelings did not return back to the caves. Most had abandoned the queen, gotten lost, or died. Only the ones who are still loyal to the queen remained. Trinkets of blood dripped from her head wound, when she had landed. She opened the doors to her chamber with a weak hoof, for her magic was useless in her state. Slowly, Chrysalis limped to a mirror hanging on the wall. She examined herself closely. Her mane was a mess, half of her left wing was missing, her left forehoof was bent in an unnatural angle, a fang was gone, and her horn was chipped in a few areas. Chrysalis sat where the mirror stood, and shouted for a Changeling to treat her broken hoof. A medically trained Changeling rushed in with two boxes of supplies floating at her side. The Changeling used it’s magic to snap the bones back into place, with the queen yelling in pain. After wrapping the bandages around her hoof the Changeling quickly left the chamber. Chrysalis slammed her other hoof onto her desk
"Damn them!" Chrysalis shouted. "Why didn't it work!? I had him under my spell! Equestria was going to be MINE!"
"Don't you mean ‘His’, Chrysalis?"
The Changeling queen quickly turned her head to the corner where the voice as at. “W-Who’s there?”
The silhouette slowly stepped out from the shadows. A young man less than twenty years of age dressed in black held his arms apart. “What happened Chrysalis? One minute you were destroying Canterlot, and the next minute you and your army was sent flying... Impressive spell.”
Chrysalis shivered in fear as the young man stepped further out of the shadows.
"H-H-How did you g-get in here O-Obscurus?" Chrysalis said, with fear flooding her mind.
"The key under your mat. I was waiting for you. I gave you a simple job, take over Canterlot. And you can't even do that!"
"I sorry Obscurus, but I tried!" Chrysalis cried as she cowered into a corner.
"You almost did it, but like the dumbass you are you just stood there while that purple pony set Cadence free, freed Armor from the spell, and let them take you out!"
"H-How did you know?"
Obscurus scratched his head while staring at the ceiling. "I was there, right at the altar. In fact, I've been watching your every move in the shadows." He walked to the desk where Chrysalis once was, picked up a brush and started brushing his hair. "Everything was going to plan before that purple pony came, although I'll give you points for sleeping with him" Obscurus smirked. "That purple pony. I think her name was....Twilight?"
Chrysalis spoke up, "Yes, she's Celestia's student."
Obscurus quickly looked at her way and laughed "The whore princess has a student!? Oh god, the things they probably do in secret." laughing even harder as he continued brushing his hair. "Twilight. I can use her to my advantage. Do you know where she lives Chrysalis?"
Chrysalis tapped her good hoof to her head. "Her friends mentioned Ponyville a few times."
"Ponyville? That's where I get my apples!" Obscurus set the brush down and stood up. "Back to business! I think it's time for me to lead your army"
"You can't!" Chrysalis shouted.
Obscurus smiled as he examined the contents on her desk. "Oh yes I can... by the way, do you know this blue pony?" He pointed at the bed. Chrysalis looked at where his finger was pointing, a ball of black fire burned on the bed. The fire died down, revealing a cyan blue, rainbow maned winged pony tied down with chains.
Chrysalis stared in surprise, "That's one of Twilight's friends!"
"Rainbow Dash is her name. She noticed my presence after the wedding."
Rainbow Dash struggled with the chains but was unable to break them. Obscurus walked up to the bed and leaned towards her.
"Ok bitch, I'm going to take off that gag and you're going to tell me everything you know about Twilight." He took the gag from her mouth and tossed it aside, smiling as he watched her gasping for air.
Rainbow Dash spoke. "I'll never tell you anything!"
"Oh, you're going to bitch" Obscurus grabbed Rainbow's left wing and tightened his grip. Rainbow yelled in pain. "Second chance Dash, come on. You can tell me"
"I'll never betray my friends!"
Obscurus loosened his grip a little. "Wow...That's a lot of loyalty."
Chrysalis spoke from the corner. "She's the element of loyalty Obscurus, she's not going to talk."
The young man slapped Chrysalis hard enough to smash her head into the wall and bounce back. "ELEMENT!?"
Obscurus wasted no time, he went back to the bed, grab her wing again and ripped it from her body. Rainbow Dash screamed in agony as blood sprayed from the wound.
"You know what, I'm just going to kill you... but first," he walked back to where Chrysalis lay, blood oozing from her mouth. He picked her up by the horn, "You're no use to me anymore."
With this, black fire emerged from his hand and slowly consumed the Changeling queen. She screamed and gasped for air, kicking about, but to no avail. Her entire body, completely covered in black fire, stopped moving.
Obscurus smiled. "As you can see Chrysalis, with your powers and your army, I can't be stopped."
Rainbow Dash watched as Chrysalis's corpse slowly shrunk and entered his body. His eyes sprung wide open as Chrysalis's horn sprouted out of the left side of his forehead and arched back over his head, his eyes started to glow green as the pain slowly ceased.
"Stubborn bitch." Obscurus examined himself in the mirror. "I'm starting to look like that Draconequus. Now Rainbow, time for us to go."
Obscurus grabbed Rainbow Dash by the other wing, and dragged her out to the main chamber where the remaining Changeling army waited, followed by a trail of blood. He dropped Rainbow Dash by his side and ripped her other wing off. At this point Dash could no longer cling to consciousness, and passed out from pain and blood loss. Obscurus turned his attention to the Changelings.
"As you can see, your precious queen is dead. I am your new leader, master, whatever you want to call me. Your queen has failed to take over Canterlot because she let the ponies responsible for your defeat cast a spell right in front of her eyes."
Many of the Changelings hissed at each other in response of this action.
"If you stay with me, you'll have all of Equestria to freely roam. This world will be your world! I will help you take this world!"
The entire chamber screeched and buzzed in approval of their new leader.
"Now then, you all must be starving, luckily, I brought a snack!" Obscurus held the unconscious Rainbow Dash by her mane in the air to show them all. Drool seeped through their sharp and ragged teeth as he held their meal.
"You all just can't wait to eat, can you?" Obscurus teased as he shook the body, "But I get first bite."
He bit hard onto Rainbow Dash's left ear and ripped it off, spitting it back out. He through the body into the crowd of Changelings waiting to eat. With their fangs, they bit down into her flesh and ripped her apart, tearing out her organs and drinking her blood.
Obscurus simply stared at the carnage with blood dripping from the corner of his mouth.
"Hungry little fuckers. One element down, seven more to go". Obscurus's new horn glowed a dark green as green fire covered his body. The fire died down, revealing a greyish pony with a pure black tail and mane, it's eyes glowed green and horn dimming down.
"At least I'm not an alicorn.” Obscurus said under his breath. "Next stop, Ponyville!"
Obscurus, in his newly body trotted out of the caves only to be blinded by the sun. After a moment or two he got used to the light. He continued trotting down the mountain side, singing to himself. "Yippie yaaaay, there'll be no wedding bells for today. I got spurs, that jingle jangle jingle~"
