The Great Reign of Chaos
Prologue – The Gates of Tartarus
“Yes, everything’s going to be just fine!” said the newly coronated alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle.
They thought of it. Everything seemed fine.
But it’s not.
Almost a year ago before the grand princess coronation, the giant three-headed black dog, named Cerberus according to legends, abandoned its duty to guard the gates of Tartarus; the World of Hell which remained a mystery confusing myths and legends until that fateful day; and rampaged in Ponyville for nothing, scaring everypony. Twilight Sparkle, who was still a unicorn that time, was bothered by that conflict.
That time, Twilight Sparkle was making sure that nothing disastrous could happen in Equestria just like what her future self from next Tuesday morning presumed to say to her, but she was too late to say.
After she and her friends wasted time to secure all of Equestria, in the streets of Ponyville, a loud roar was heard.
The Cerberus leaped towards the citizens and roared very loud.
“Okay everypony, follow my lead.” Pinkie Pie said which was followed by a scream of panic.
Everypony were afraid of the Cerberus, ran away and screamed. They went back to their houses and hid, some hid in objects, and all looked away from the three-headed beast.
“What is that thing?” Spike asked to Twilight.
“That's Cerberus!” Twilight replied, “He's supposed to be guarding the gates of Tartarus, but if he's here, then all of the evil creatures that have been imprisoned there could escape and destroy Equestria!”
“Destroy Equestria?!” Spike exclaimed in reaction.
“Yeah, isn't it great?” Twilight said in excitement, thinking it could be the sign of “the disaster Twilight’s future self might mentioned”.
Cerberus was about to poop on the ground when it was interrupted by Twilight. “Hey, Cerberus! You look like you could use some obedience training!” Twilight bragged to the beast as her horn glows for her attack, “Magic obedience training!”
The black beast roared at Twilight, who was about to attack.
Twilight withdrew her attack when she saw Fluttershy rubbing the tummy of the Cerberus, who was calmed down and treated like a domesticated dog.
“Who’s the cute widdle three-headed dog,” Fluttershy said as the Cerberus continues to pant.
Twilight walked to Fluttershy saying, “Wow, I knew you were good with animals, but this is amazing.”
“Aww, he's just a big furry guy who got out of his yard, that's all,” Fluttershy replied, still rubbing the beast’s belly, then turned her head to Cerberus, “Right, Cerberus? Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy?”
Pinkie continued to scream and ran past through them.
“Pinkie!” Twilight called.
“Yes, Twilight?” Pinkie responded to her, after she stopped screaming.
“Do you have a ball I can borrow?” the purple unicorn asked.
“I have balls stashed all over Ponyville, in case of ball emergency.” The pink earth pony replied as she went to an open-trunked tree and grabbed a ball.
Twilight grabbed the ball with her magic and said to the calmed Cerberus, “Hey, Cerberus! Look what I have!”
As the Cerberus looked at the ball, it panted. Twilight and the Cerberus ran together with her still holding the ball in front of the running beast, so that it can follow it.
“I'll be back as soon as I've returned him to the gates of Tartarus. Once he's back at home, there'll be no disaster.” Twilight said as she continued to lead it back to the gates of Tartarus, as Pinkie and Spike watched them run away from distance.
Twilight successfully led Cerberus back to the gates of hell, and it secured the gates, thinking no one has yet escaped.
But it was too late.
The gates were accidentally left open when the Cerberus left it.
As a result, a stowaway has escaped.
Actually, it was two.
A pegasus mare with black frizzly mane, white-coated fur and a black vampire bat as her cutie mark, and a unicorn mare with white spiky mane, black-coated fur and a white vampire bat as her cutie mark, have gotten out from the gates before the Cerberus could rearrive there to guard again.
It's actually personal for them, that the white pegasus speaks first and the black unicorn second. Their speaking order is their usual habit.
“Where is the guardian of the gates, Mea?” asked the white pony.
“I don’t know, Nai, maybe it got impatient, so it decided to take a stroll,” replied the black unicorn.
“How shouldn’t we know?!” Nai said in a cross manner, “We’re the immortal queen vampire!”
“Hey, don’t brag about it, but you’re right,” Mea replied.
“Right! I’m Nai!”
“And I’m Mea!”
“And together, we’re…” as Nai and Mea are about to finish, they heard a sound of trotting coming from the long stairs which heads to the surface.
“Could that be…” Nai said.
“…the guardian of the gates?” Mea continued.
The both screamed in panic and hugged tight together. As they hugged, they fused and turned into a dark grey alicorn with a horn similar to Queen Chrysalis’s and vampire wings. The alicorn is Phantom Spy Vancuria. As she heard the sound coming closer, she hid behind a pillar of rocks near the gates.
Twilight Sparkle the unicorn, magically holding the ball, and the Cerberus descended to the stairs, to the gates of Tartarus.
“Here, Cerberus!” Twilight said as she dropped the ball so the Cerberus can play with it. She then trotted away back up to the surface. “BYE!” she said to Cerberus before running away up stairs.
Vancuria, in hiding, could not believe what happened. She separated into Nai and Mea, who are actually separate forms of the grey alicorn.
“Didn’t you see it?” Nai asked.
“Yes, I did.” Mea answered.
“A mortal tamed the guardian of the gates of hell?” Nai said as if she took it as an irony.
“I’m impressed.” Mea responded.
“Well, I’m not,” Nai replied
“You're right. Mortals. Amateurs. Bleh!”
The two black-and-white ponies looked at the Cerberus playing with ball, not bothering its job guarding the gates.
“That beast is not doing its job!” said Nai.
“Alright, here’s our chance!” Mea cried cheerfully.
“Shhh! The guardian might hear you!” Nai said, placing her hoof on Mea’s mouth.
“Sorry,” Mea whispered, “Let’s go.”
Nai and Mea slowly and quietly walked through the Cerberus, who was not bothering the two ponies, without making a single noise. They silently walked to the stairs, up to the surface.
As they got farther from the unguarding beast, Nai asked, “Are we far enough already from that beast?”
“I think we walked quite far enough.” Mea answered, “Fly!”
Nai flapped her wings and flew, and Mea used magic to carry herself up in the stairs to the surface.
After for a while, the two ponies finally reached the end of the stairs and to the surface. They panted for breath as they got tired, after ascending to the stairs.
“Those stairs are so long!” Mea complained.
“But at least we’re here now.” Nai said.
They looked around that they are already in the mortal world, in a large desert which has nothing but sand and void of life. (San Palomino Desert, Equestria)
“Is this the mortal world?” Mea asked.
“It’s brighter than in Tartarus, our world,” Nai said.
“Why mind the light? We came from darkness.” Mea exclaimed.
“Anyways, now that we’re here, let’s rampage and destroy everything!”
“But, there is only desert here. Full of sand, sand, sand.”
“No way! There must be something here! I hunger for life! You too, you are eager to eat a body!”
“Right!”
“Let’s find something or someone if there is someone who is stuck desert.”
“You’re right! Let’s go!”
The two mares hugged each other and they became Vancuria. She flapped her wings and flew all across the vast, but empty desert, to seek for life or food she could devour.
Eleven months after the Cerberus incident, a fatal accident has been made by Twilight Sparkle. She was given a package from Princess Celestia which is Star Swirl the Bearded’s spell book. She was given the task to finish the unfinished spell of Star Swirl.
“‘From one to another, another to one. A mark of one's destiny singled out alone, fulfilled.’ That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't even rhyme!”
As Twilight read Star Swirl’s final writings in the books, she accidentally casted a spell to swap the magic of the Elements of Harmony, thus mismatching the cutie marks of Twilight’s five friends, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack.
But, after she realized the importance of friendship, she used the magic of friendship through the Elements of Harmony and restored the cutie marks back to their rightful owners. As of that, she knew what to finish in Star Swirl’s book.
“‘From all of us together, together we are friends, with the marks of our destinies made one, there is magic without end!’”
As Twilight finished the spell, she was rewarded to be an alicorn.
In Canterlot, everypony was gathered in the most historic occasion ever known in the history of Equestria. Princess Celestia, Luna and Cadance are in their coronation dresses.
Princess Celestia gave her message, “We are gathered here today in celebration of a momentous occasion. My most faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, has done many extraordinary things since she's lived in Ponyville. She even helped reunite me with my sister, Princess Luna. But today, Twilight Sparkle did something extraordinary. She created new magic, proving without a doubt that she is ready to be crowned Equestria's newest princess. Fillies and gentlecolts, may I present for the very first time, Princess Twilight Sparkle!”
Twilight entered the door, with her elegant pink dress with yellow clothing and escorted by standard-bearers, chorus singers and guards. They sing on behalf of Twilight Sparkle who entered the room and wore the crown, granting to become the new princess of Equestria.

Princess Twilight Sparkle, Celestia, Luna, and her five pony friends enter the balcony, and Twilight nervously waved at all the ponies outside, rejoicing of her grand coronation.
“Say something, Princess,” Celestia whispered to the purple alicorn.
“A little while ago, my teacher and mentor Princess Celestia sent me to live in Ponyville,” Princess Twilight spoke to the entire crowd, “She sent me to study friendship, which is something I didn't really care much about. But now, on a day like today, I can honestly say I wouldn't be standing here if it weren't for the friendships I've made with all of you. Each one of you taught me something about friendship, and for that, I will always be grateful. Today, I consider myself the luckiest pony in Equestria. Thank you, friends. Thank you, everypony!”
Everypony cheered and rejoiced.
Twilight and the others left the balcony as they approach inside and her brother, Shining Armor approached to Twilight.
“Twilight! I'm so proud of you!” Shining said.
“Are you crying?” Twilight questioned as she noticed Shining’s watery eyes.
“Of course not, it's… it's liquid pride. Totally different thing,” he replied as he rubbed his tears of his eyes. She and her B.B.B.F.F. laughed and hugged at each other. The five ponies went near Twilight.
“Way to go, Princess!” Applejack said.
“Best coronation day ever!” Pinkie cheered.
“We love you, Twilight,” said Fluttershy.
“I love you too, girls!” Twilight said, as the main six shared their one hug.
Eight months, after the coronation…
Meanwhile, in the same massive desert of nothingness, Vancuria still flew around there, alone and longing for possible life to kill, rampage or eat. But she has found nothing, and finally landed on the ground, starved and thirsty after for one year and seven months of endless flight across the San Palomino Desert. She felt alone and split again into Nai and Mea.
“What the hay? We haven’t found anything yet!” complained Nai.
“We kept going circles! That’s why!” Mea exclaimed.
“What the hell are you talking about?! I mean, a mortal usually starves after for a few days, but we became hungry after for over a year! It’s so long!”
“Too long!”
“We haven’t found anything in this desert, just sand, wind of sand, sandstorms… and a few skulls.”
“Damn right!”
Suddenly, the two mares noticed something familiar. Something bright, something white above, something green below, something which seems fresh and something lively. Nai and Mea went near to the point where they saw the interesting thing.
“I see clouds!”
“I see trees!”
“I saw the living!”
“The living!”
“Yes, finally! We have found something we can devour! We can go there and rampage,” cheered Nai.
“Yay!” cheered Mea.
Nai and Mea were just about to approach to the area, when a loud deep voice called from behind them.
"STOP!!!!!!"
The two mares stopped and were startled. They grew afraid and slowly turned around to see where the voice came from.
They screamed together in panic as they saw a massive bipedal creature with the head of a bull and tentacles as his beard. He has two large wings on his back, is larger than the size of the Ponyville City Hall and is armed with armor covering his golden-colored body and a huge sword with inscriptions written on it in blue.
“I always felt a stowaway would escape from the gates too. But I didn’t you are still here in this wasteland! I’ve been looking everywhere for you and I wasted my entire time!” the monster roared.
“I’m s-sorry…” Nai stammered.
“With all respect, who are you?” Mea asked nervously.
“I am Demon Doom Lord Kazzak the Supreme!!!” he replied.
“Lord Kazzak… um… we have found something we can… destroy!” nervously said Nai.
“Yeah, searching for over a year is—mmm… boring but finally, we—”
“SILENCE!!!!!” Mea was cut off by Kazzak the Supreme’s ear-shattering roaring voice which was actually three times louder than the average Royal Canterlot Voice. The two mares trembled in fear and screamed in panic.
Nai calmed down and put a hoof on Mea’s screaming mouth, whispering to her angrily, “That’s because you said something you shouldn’t have!”
“You mean the ‘boring’ word?” Mea whispered back and the white pegasus nodded.
“I can do this, but must not do this alone. After for 10,000 years of imprisoning and waiting, I finally grew tired of it!” growled Kazzak, “Ten thousand years is such a long, long time and this day has finally come. The day in where we shall finally have our revenge!”
“Milord, we are happy that we finally have revenge. If you don’t mind, can we just go there and--?” stammered Nai.
“Uuza Douza Ujira!” As Kazzak shouted those words, a large red enchantment circle appeared below the three of them. Lightning crackled on it and inverted light burst from the circle. Kazzak, Nai and Mea suddenly vanished into the black light and the circle of red disappeared.
