//------------------------------// // Chapter 10 Slow Mo Time // Story: The Slow Mo Stallions // by gamershot //------------------------------// When they reached the station, the rest of the mane six were already there, waiting. "Howdy everypony, are we late?" asked the farm pony as she trotted up to her friends. "No darling, you’re right on time, we were a tad early" replied Rarity, whilst greeting Apple Jack with a hug. Apple Jack sighed with relief and smiled. "Thank Celestia, Ah hate ta be late." she said, breaking the hug. "Hey AJ that rhymed! You're a poet and you didn't know it... That rhymed too! I'm a poet and I didn't know it...Hey guys, I'm a poet!" chirped Pinkie Pie, making everypony giggle. As the train appeared through the tunnel, the group of ponies waited for it to come to a stop. When it did, Twilight gave eight tickets to the stallion stood by the door, and lead everypony inside. "Boy, this is a nice train." said Gavin happily. "Yeah, where we come from trains go underground in tubes, are full of chavs, and constantly smell of piss." added Dan with a smile. "Uhm, what is a "chav" and what is a "piss"?" asked Fluttershy quietly. "Oh, er... It doesn't matter" replied Dan kindly. They chatted amongst themselves for the rest of the journey, the mane six were very surprised that they got on so well with Gavin and Dan and that they were genuinely nice stallions. Eventually the train arrived in Canterlot, forcing an end to the conversation. They stepped out onto the cobble stones of Canterlot station one by one, Gavin and Dan gasping as they looked at the incredible view of the gentle hills surrounding Ponyville. "That's a beast view!" exclaimed Dan as he continued to take in the sights. "Oh there's way cooler stuff than that, especially in the Princess' palace. I'd even go to say that it's awesome" said Rainbow Dash. "Come on everypony, this way. I don't want to keep the Princess waiting." said Twilight with a weak smile. They all turned to Twilight and followed her along the winding roads of Canterlot, up to the grand palace. There was a nice atmosphere among the group, they were getting along well and starting to have fun it seemed. Gavin and Dan had realized that there was no point in being depressed or scared or worried, if anything it would only lessen their chances of getting back to England. They finally arrived at the gates to the palace and they guard opened them up, recognizing Twilight. "Good morning Twilight, who are these two?" he asked, pointing to Gavin and Dan. "Friends of mine from Ponyville." she lied. The guard stroked his chin and stared them down, "Ok, but are you just friends? I don't want to have to tell Captain Armour..." "Yes. We are friends now let us through." She grunted through gritted teeth, not wanting to keep the Princess waiting and lose her punctual reputation, or worse, get sent back to magic kindergarten. "Fine" he replied quickly as he opened the gate wider so that they could fit through. Once inside they all followed Twilight (who knew the way to the Princess by heart) down the corridors to the throne room. She nodded at the guards and trotted in proudly. Princess Celestia smiled warmly and came down from her high throne. "Ah Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student, I see that your new friends are awake." she greeted along with a hug. "Yes Princess, we came here to discuss how we could get them back, and what to do with them until then." replied Twilight, breaking from the hug. The princess trotted over to Gavin and Dan, admiring her work. "They came out as very handsome looking stallions." she giggled whilst patting Gavin's scruffy mane. "Heh, thanks" he chuckled in response. Apple Jack then walked up to the tall princess and bowed her head. "So Princess, do ya have any way to get 'em back?" she asked, wanting to do all she could to help Gavin and Dan. Celestia looked to Apple Jack and hung her head. "I'm afraid not my little ponies" she replied sadly. Everypony gasped and looked to the pair of stallions, who looked up to the princess desperately. "Oh my! This is just absolutely awful!" yelled Rarity with one of her legs across her fore head. "I thought about it all night, but there is no safe way to get you back that I can think of at the moment" she added. Gavin and Dan were devastated, how could they spend the rest of their lives here? Memories of his dream filled Gavin's head and he flopped to the ground and sighed heavily, seemingly giving up on life. Dan looked down to his friend and remembered the promise he'd made. There's one thing that he would never do, and that's to break promises. He looked at the princes, eyes like daggers, and marched up to her. "What?!" he shouted. "You expect us to just live out our lives here?!" he yelled. He could feel the anger welling up inside him. "WELL YOU HAVE ANOTHER THING COMING, BITCH." he screamed as his horn glowed with a bright, chocolate brown colour. He scrunched up his eyes and sent a large beam of magic at the princess. He opened his eyes and saw himself and Celestia, encased inside a bubble. Everything on the inside seemed normal, and everything on the outside moved in slow motion. "Oh my!" uttered the princess as she examined the time bubble. "Dan, this is incredible! You've been a unicorn for a day and you did this!" she added breathlessly, his outburst completely ignored. Dan was panting heavily and still looking around. The mane six were trying to run towards him, whilst Gavin was cheering for him... very, very slowly. "I'm sorry Princess; I got a little bit angry. What have I done though?" he asked, shocked at his own ability. "You've perfectly performed an extremely complex spell." she answered. "It seems you have a gift for magic." she added with a smile. Dan shook his head. "Nah, this must just be how my slow motion work has come into this world." he replied which a shrug as he sent another beam of magic out, to end the spell. When the beam of magic hit the bubble, it slowly peeled away and popped. As soon as the bubble was gone, everypony but Gavin ran straight into Dan, as they were running to him before. "Ah, crickey!" yelled Dan as the mares piled up around him. "Woooooo! Gooooooooo Dan!" shouted Gavin happily, watching the pile-up from his position, sat on the floor. Dan chuckled and helped the mane six up to their hooves, before looking up to the princess. "What now?" He asked. "You can stay here until we find a way to get you back; and we will find one eventually, I assure you." she answered with a smile. "Ok, thanks princess." he replied, returning the smile. "Uh, what just happened?" asked Twilight angrily. "That doesn't matter now my faithful student. Dan and Gavin will stay with you in Ponyville until I find a way to send them back safely." She replied with a smile. She looked over the ponies, most of them patting dust from their coats. Gavin, however, was sat on the ground, looking lost and hopeless once more. For this she felt extremely guilty. "And to make it up to Gavin and Dan, you're all getting tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala!" she announced. Everypony whooped and cheered, Gavin even joined in, picking up that it was a party. "This'll be top!" he said happily to Dan, a smile spread across his muzzle. "Let's go out for lunch in Canterlot everypony, my treat." suggested Rarity, getting happy nods of approval in response. I just hope that Gavin and Dan have good manners she thought...
