//------------------------------// // Part 46 // Story: Linkin Pony- Recharge // by Kaciekk //------------------------------// The ponies had gotten on the train. They were now going in the other direction. The train moved much faster then the first time. TuhunderCharm's friend, RandomSketch, was with them, but annoying the terribly. "So where do you live?" The unicorn asked. "Is there more cities? Or do you live in one of those camps? Is there more ponies?" Suddenly, indigo magic circled around his mouth. "Shut up." SpinningNote snapped. "We've all had a long day. Can we please have some silence?" ThunderCharm laughed. "He always talks... But please, can you keep it down?" RandomSketch nodded. "Mm-hmm." Then Spinning's magic let go. All of the ponies sat in the train as it rumbled. Energy jumped in the engine, as gears turned. HeartFelt gazed up at CharmingRhythm as she leaned against him. "You did some good work today." She said. He looked at her and gave her a warm smile. "I would work more, since I want to talk with the ponies in the camp, but I just really want to rest when we get back." HyperBlitz stepped over. "I feel you." He sat down and rubbed his throat. "I need to rest myself from screaming." "You're scream in the park was more surprising then the concert." HeartFelt told him. Hyper nodded. He looked over to the window that he had broke the first day. "Hopefully it wouldn't take that long to get back home. I know we are going faster." "But we can't go too fast." BlazingFlair then told them. "These tracks are old, and you really don't want to fall off of them." HyperBltiz smiled. "We'd be in some trouble then." They were all silent now, only the rattling of the steel was heard. They rested for as long as they could. Soon enough the were sure that they were in the right place. The ponies stepped down from the car. All of the world had not changed since they left. The dead landscape, with trash piled up at the sides. HyperBlitz trotted forward and gazed around. All he could hear was the breathing of the other ponies and himself. But suddenly, another noise rang in his ear. It was very faint, like electric buzzing. He walked away from the other ponies and looked on the other side of the train. Over in the field, where some buildings were left, something strange laid there. A mechanical structure, it stood up on metal legs. It was taller then a pony, and lights flashed on it. The ground below was cracked, and drier then ever. It seemed to suck out what ever was left in the earth. "What is that?" Hyper said. CharmingRhythm stepped to his side and looked at the machine. "Is that... an Energy Node? It would have to be... what else?" He glanced at Hyper. "How the hell can these hybrids make such things? Did we just understimate them?" "Maybe there are more Half-Hybrids. More that are smart.... but they are all sort of dumb." Hyperblitz shoke his head. "And they just want to take out energy away." FeatherTune came up to them, and tilted his head. "What's going on?" "Those Hybrid bastards are already placing Energy Nodes." Rhythm scolded. Suddenly, RandomSketch bounced from the other side. "Let me see!" "Quiet!" Rhythm snapped. "There could be hybrids." "I doubt that." Random laughed. "Uh.. think again." FeatherTune pointed his hoof out. Over by the Energy Node, was two creatures. They were Hybrids, who were watching the mechine. Really, they only moved around, not doing much. They must have been guarding. "Lets go get them." RandomgSketch urged, but CharmingRhythm placed his hoof in front of his path. "No, We can't go out in the open." "Then what do we do?" Feather asked. HyperBlitz scanned the Energy Node, and how it seemed to bob, up and down, with the movement of the Hybrids. Both things needed to be destroyed. Hyper gazed down at his hoof cover, where he had energy. "I got an idea. Step back." Hyper trotted forward a bit. He was closer to the Hybrids now. Hyper tapped the orb on his hoof cover, and it flashed. Suddenly, energy swarmed the end of his hoof. The Hybrids looked over and noticed the pony. Just as they jolted, hyper took his hoof up, and flung it forward. The energy blasted out in a huge wave. It exploded the Node, giving off energy that suffocated the Hybrids. "Yeah bitches!" HyperBlitz yelled with satisfaction, and his hoof in the air. After he waited for the explosion to die down, he turned around . All of the ponies stared with stunned faces. "How... how did that work?" Rhythm stuttered. "I don't know. And we don't need to know how, as long as it does work." Hyper told him. "These Hybrids are getting trickier, and we gotta stop them while we can." "So any Hybrid or Node we see... we have to destroy?" FeatherTune asked, but sort of announced. "I guess so." Hyper shrugged. "But.... why don't we get back to the base, more Hybrids could be here, and we are all tired." All the ponies nodded with agreement. Hyper didn't go around to the other side of the train, but kept going forward. He got a closer look at the remains of the Energy Node. Parts spread across the ground, rusting. He glanced at the cracked ground, but something green popped up. "Are those...?" EchoBeat stepped forward and looked at the ground. "Plants? They must have bloomed from the energy releasing." "So disabling a node... will make plants grow." Rhythm said. "I guess so..." Hyper told him. "I guess that's a plus for us."
