Chapter 2:Potions and Spells

I could say that it was a typical week after that, but then I would be lying. If anything it was LESS than typical, but just downright awesome. If I didn't have as much fun as I had, I probaly would've passed out WAY less from all the "welcome parties" Pinkie Pie threw for me. Twilight barely made me do any real work, and just let me hang out with the other ponies in Ponyville. I became rather close to a rainbow colored pegasus named Rainbow Dash, who loved my cutie mark (a cloud with a crystal in the center), and I helped Fluttershy frequently with the animals. I saw Pinkie Pie rather often, and two other ponies, Applejack and Rarity, were pretty fun to be around as well. I was having a pretty good time in Ponyville, until my fifth day there. That's when things turned for the worst.

I woke up, feeling pretty good that morning. The book I was reading that night was laying on my back, the pages opened on my spot. I gingerly folded the corner of the page an closed it. I then grabbed it and started to go downstairs, flying just slightly above the steps. I then put it back on to the shelf, making sure not to push off the paper numbers that were taped there for organization. As I walked downstairs, I heard the distinct shuffling of quills on parchment that signaled Twilight was awake and already studying. I sighed deeply, wondering whether she would ever stop studying. When I made it to the bottom of the stairs, Spike was the first to notice me.
"Oh! Morning, Crystal!" he said cheerily. I couldn't help but smile slightly from the dragon's perkiness.
"Good morning,Spike. Good morning, Twilight!" I replied sweetly, laughing quietly as the purple unicorn, so absorbed in her studies, jumped from hearing my voice.
"Hey, Crystal! I didn't hear you come downstairs!" Twilight said in suprise. I smiled and walked over to the broom in the corner, sweeping the area. After an errie silence, Twilight spoke.
"Crystal? Can you get me 'Potions and Spells for Home and Trips'? A young unicorn asked it from me yesterday while we were unpacking it. It's on shelf 5," Twilight instructed, still writing. I nodded.
"Of course!" I replied, flying over to where bookshelves 1-10 were, "Let's see...shelf 1,shelf 2, shelf 3, shelf 4, shelf 6, shelf 7..."I started to say, but stopped when I hit seven.
"Wait a minute!",I flew back to the start,"1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10! There isn't...? TWILIGHT!" I shouted. Twilight came rushing over.
"What is it? Something wrong...?" Twilight asked. I pointed at the shelves with my hoof. "Look! Shelf 5 isn't there! It's gone!" I informed. Twilight's face immediatly regestered shock.
"Oh! Oh no! OH NO!!! This is bad, this is bad, this is bad!!!!!" Twilight gasped, "That shelf...Princess Celestia... she trusted me...the Elements! THIS IS SO BAD!" She screamed. I looked at her in shock.
"Wait a minute! You're telling me that something important was up there!?" I said nervously. Twilight nodded frantically. "Yes, VERY VERY important! The book I asked from you was holding the Elements of Harmony in them! Why did I say they would be safer here?!" Twilight said, pacing while I stared at her in shock. Don't get me wrong, everypony by now should know what the Elements of Harmony are, including ponies from Manehatten, like myself. But why in the name of Celestia (literally) would Celestia safeguard the Elements in a library, where ANYPONY could find them?
"Um...Twilight? If you don't mind me asking, why would the princess safeguard the elements here?" I asked quietly. Twilight looked at me in suprise.
"I didn't tell you? Silly me! Well, um...I am one of the Elements of Harmony! So are Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash,Rairity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie!" Twilight said as casually as possible. I now felt like an idiot.
"Oh...um....wow! I...feel like an idiot now!" I said, rolling my eyes. Twilight looked at me in frustration, then continued to pace.
"We need to tell the Elements! AND Princess Celestia! Crystal, do you mind...?" She said. I spread my wings.
"No problem! I'll get there as fast as I can!" I shouted, flying quickly to the door. When I was about to open it, a magical force opened it quickly and caused me to run into the pony who had done so. When I looked up from the ground, I could see a sterline white pony, with both wings and a horn.
"...Twilight!"

Hey guys. I haven't had a lot of time to write on here, between writing a book that I'm planning to get published and a crudload of schoolwork. What sucks is that I CAN'T GET A CHAPTER TO BE 1,000 WORDS LONG!!!!
