The two mares awoke in Twilight's bed, they hadn't committed any lewd acts that night, they just held each other. Rainbow Dash was the first to awaken, her forelegs wrapped around one she loved.
'I think I'll just lay here all day,' she thought to herself. After her dream yesterday, and her breakdown shortly after, Rainbow realized that maybe Twilight did love her. Twilight shuffled a bit under her friends forelegs, but she didn't wake up, or so that's what Rainbow thought.
Twilight was in fact awake, but not just physically. She felt something within her heart, a part of her that was almost always silent in comparison to her brain. Something was telling her that this was right, being with Rainbow Dash, and that nothing could've made her happier. She rolled over, "Hi."
"Hi yourself," Rainbow Dash said, she leaned into Twilight, who accepted the act of affection.
"So are we a couple?" Twilight asked sweetly.
"If you like," Rainbow Dash said in a bland tone then burst out laughing, "Of course we are."
Twilight smiled at the pegasus, "Are you busy today?"
Rainbow Dash pondered this for a moment, "Let's see, I just have to move some clouds over the library, then I was going to practice a few tricks, other than that: no not at all."
Twilight was surprised, "You have to move clouds over my house?"
"Aren't I the lucky one," Rainbow Dash said.
"That's really convenient," Twilight said suspiciously.
"Well I sort of asked," Rainbow blushed, "To keep an eye on you."
Twilight smiled, "That was sweet of you."
"So, do I get a reward or what?" Rainbow Dash asked seductively.
"Maybe later," Twilight replied, "But I do have to open the library sometime today."
"Rats," Rainbow snapped.
As Twilight turned the open sign to closed, Rainbow Dash left, Twilight knew the day was going to be boring. Without her new marefriend the day would seep by like a herd of turtles. She knew that no one but Rainbow would come into the library today. Twilight was sitting behind the counter when Spike walked downstairs with a briefcase. "Do you have everything you need?" Twilight asked her assistant.
"I got my toothbrush and a couple of snacks for the ride!" Spike said happily.
"It was so nice of Princess Celestia to offer to take care of you for a few day!" Twilight added as she patted his head.
"Yeah," Spike said, "But I'm going to miss you guys."
"Well I'll tell everypony you said goodbye and its only for a week." She said sympathetically.
"Thanks Twilight, you're the best." Spike said as he gave her a hug.
"Now hurry along, you're going to be late!" Twilight said.
"Okay, okay sheesh!" Spike groaned.
Twilight had to keep herself from shedding tears, now she was basically alone except for Owluiciuos, and he wasn't exactly the conversation type. It was getting to be lunchtime when she started to get hungry, she decided that she would head to town and see how Pinkie was doing.
Sugar Cube Corner was also having an incredibly slow day, or at least by Pinkie's standards. In reality it was kinda busy, Twilight had to wait in line for her desert of choice.
"Pinkie," Twilight asked, "Could I get a cup of tea?"
Pinkie laughed, "Sure thing Twilight," She pulled it from beneath the counter, "Here you go!"
"Thank you," Twilight smiled as she took a drink, "Not to bad!"
A gust of wind came through the door, followed by a rainbow hued pony, "Hey Pinkie!"
"Hiya Dashie," Pinkie said, "Twilight is here too, she's sitting down right over there." Pinkie pointed to the violet unicorn.
Rainbow smiled, "Thanks Pinkie!" She flew over towards Twilight.
"Hi Rainbow Dash," Twilight said, "I thought you were working?"
"I'm done for today and was wondering if you wanted to go see a show with me tonight?" Rainbow asked with a smile.
"What kind of show?" Twilight took another sip of tea.
"Well more of a concert, its to Vinyl Scratches show." She said with a laugh.
Twilight pondered for a moment just to antagonize her friend, "Sure, I'd love too." She nuzzled Rainbow Dash.
"Maybe we could hang out afterwards too," She whispered before laughing and flying away, "See you at seven!"
Twilight was smiling with glee, she didn't think anything could be be better than what was happening right now!
Rainbow Dash was at her home, getting ready for her night out, she had the concert tickets along with a scarf that Rarity had given her for her birthday. She wasn't going out very fancy but she wanted to look nice for Twilight. She then realized the extremity of the fact that she was dating Twilight. The same Twilight who had turned her onto books, the same Twilight who had saved her from Discord's lies. "She is pretty awesome." Rainbow Dash said to herself.
