Sparkling Blues

“I can’t work with him!” Twilight yelled, flaring her wings for emphasis.

“And I can’t work with her Auntie Celestia!” Blueblood complained.

Celestia groaned, trying her best not to face-hoof herself, but the two before her were acting like kids.

Celestia stared at her student Twilight, for a month now Twilight has been an Alicorn Princess, and has been helping Celestia and Luna run the Kingdom. Twilight was a prodigy when it came to laws and organizations; but when it came to land, or businesses, or anything else like that, she was stumped, and some of her decisions have caused, problems.

Celestia turned to her nephew, Prince Blueblood. While he may not be helping the princesses in the same way Twilight does, he makes sure that all the all the nobles were happy. But he had a problem with his attitude towards his peers, or in his case “peasants”.

“I know that you both have a problem with this turn of events, but you two must realize that it is for your own good,” Celestia explained, or at least try two, but the two ponies wouldn’t have it.

“But what good could come from this by working with Blueblood!?” Twilight complained, pointing her hoof at the white stallion.

“I for one will have to agree with her, even if she was once a lower class,” Blueblood agreed, but decided to insult Twilight at the same time.

“Well you see, I noticed that your performances have been, not that highly praised,” Celestia answered, doing her best to make the two understand.

“What do you mean Celestia, I have been doing a great job,” Twilight said in shock.

“And haven’t the nobles been off your case,” Blueblood pointed out.

Celestia knew that it was time to tell the two what the other ponies think.

“Well you see, the other ponies have been, complaining,”

“What are they complaining about?” Twilight asked.

“Well, for you Twilight, they are complaining that you have no idea how to manage land, and that you are too technical when it comes to explaining things,” Celestia explained.

“What proof is there?” Twilight asked, not believing it.

“Remember that Earth pony that came to talk to you about adding more land to his farm?” Celestia asked.

“Yes, I gave him land from the north,” Twilight said.

“You gave him land from the Griffon Empire, which almost caused a conflict,” Celestia scolded, causing Twilight to look down at the ground.

“Then there was that Pegasus that wanted to open up a business, and you ended making her go to a bar and drink herself into unconsciousness with her saying, and I quote, ‘Please make her babble go away,”

Blueblood snickered when he heard all this, but it did not go unnoticed by Celestia.

“For you Blueblood, the staff have complained that you are not treating them fairly, with you thinking that they are nothing more but lowly servants,”

It was Twilights turn to snicker; she loved it when Blueblood got in trouble. She turned her attention back to her teacher to listen some more.

“That is why I want you two to work together, Twilight I want you to teach my nephew how to behave, and Blueblood, I want you to teach Twilight more about how to rule. Do I make myself clear?”

The two ponies nodded their heads, but glared at each other while doing so.

Celestia smiled, not seeing the glares, knowing that the two will work together. One of her guards whispered into her ear, and her smile widened.

“Excuse me, but I have royal duties to attend to, I hope you two learn much,” Celestia said, causing the two ponies to leave the courtroom.

Celestia turned back to her guard, “Get the Royal Apple Cider,”

“Why?” the guard asked.

“Because Cadence is here, and she and I like to drink,”

Blueblood and Twilight were now outside the castle, where they saw a blue chariot, with two white Pegasus wearing blue armor in front of it.

“I see that she is here,” Twilight said smiling.

“You mean the queen who doesn’t even know how royalty works, and was raised with the peasants,” Blueblood said, smirking at Twilight, who gave him a death glare.

“I have you know that she is doing a great job,” Twilight defended.

“Whatever let’s just go,” Blueblood said, walking with his nose up.

Twilight growled and walked beside the prince, the two not even talking to each other.

Twilight cursed in her head, not even paying attention to what was in front of her, that was until she felt a hoof press against her, causing her to stop, she looked at the hoof and realized that it belonged to Blueblood

“What was that for?” Twilight asked, Blueblood pointed at the ground, she looked at where he was pointing, and saw a puddle in front of her.

“Wow, thanks Blueblood, I would have gotten this dress wet if it wasn’t for you” Twilight said, smiling at the white unicorn. “Maybe he isn’t that bad,” Twilight thought.

“Who says that I did for you, the way you were stomping, the filthy water would have splashed right on me,”

“And now I regret thinking that,” Twilight thought, her smile turning into a scowl.

“You know, you can try being nice for once,” Twilight said.

“I am only nice to those who deserves it,” Blueblood said, and truth be told, he could be nice, but only the nobles ever got the nice him, everypony else got the snob version of him.

“Whatever, let’s just get going, your house or mine?” Twilight asked, but she didn’t have to wait long for an answer.

“My mansion, your castle smells of dragon, I don’t even know why you keep him,”

“Hey don’t you insult Spike, and I think we should go to my castle, because there are more books on what we both need to know,” Twilight commented.

The two ponies glared at each other, until Blueblood took out a coin.

“How about this, heads we go to the castle, tails, we go to the mansion,”

“I accept,”

With that, Blueblood flipped the coin.

The two were now at Blueblood’s mansion, Twilight was upset that she lost, but as long as they got started, she didn’t care.

“Alright Blueblood, I will teach you how to behave around ponies,” Twilight said smiling, putting on a pair of glasses to give her a teacher look.

“I don’t think so, I think you should learn more about royal duties, unless you want to make another mistake,” Blueblood said, not wanting to be taught like he was a peasant student.

The two glared at each other again, not ready to back down.

“Coin toss?”

“Yes,”

Twilight sat behind a table as Blueblood began to talk about royal duties, but one thought was going through Twilight’s mind that was stopping her from paying attention.

“That coin toss is rigged,”
