In a short time, dim sunlight broke through the windows. The rays fell on BlazingFlair's face. He raised his head, and glanced around at his companions. He noticed that HyperBlitz was gone. Blazing jumped, worried, he didn't know where he was. He would have to go out to find him.
Blazing slowly moved, not waking anypony. He thought it would be a good idea to leave a not. But how would he write it? He thought for a moment, HeartFelt had brought some things to write with, so she can jot down facts. Blazing looked inside of her bag and ripped out a piece of paper and a pen. He started to write.
I am going to be gone for a little bit. I woke up and saw that Hyper was gone, I went to go search for him. I will see you guys later -BF
Blazing placed the note on the control panel where it was clearly visible. He then stepped outside the train. Long shadows were placed on the ground from the early light.
He walked out into the city. The streets seemed as bare as the desert, but soon ponies appeared. Many of the city ponies were still asleep. For the ones who were awake, they only gave glances at BlazingFlair
The sky still seemed dark, but not as dark as the night. Blazing wondered where HyperBlitz was. He hoped that his friends were not angry at him for leaving to find Hyper.
Many ponies seemed to be merchants, trying to get others to trade for food or fabrics. Blazing was surprised to see some ponies with money. Why in this world would you need to use bits?
BlazingFlair glanced over. In an ally where nopony dared to go, a shadow moved across. He peeked over, it was the mare he saw yesterday, SwiftStich. The gray mare seemed sly now, as she vanished into a doorway.
Blazing took his gait over to the door. The orange pony bowed down and watched through a stained window. SwiftStitch paced the floor. Another pony was facing her, NightHaze. He seemed very annoyed. Blazing tried to concentrate and measure his ears in their conversation.
"Why do you have such a problem with me?" NightHaze asked oddly.
"Because you are bothering ponies!" SwiftStich snapped.
"How?"
"First of all, the way you act. You are odd, and you scare children."
"How dare you insult me!" NightHaze growled.
"That's what everypony says." SwiftStich tilted her head. "And where is your energy? That's my biggest problem. No blue on you makes you seem like a hybrid."
NightHaze sighed. "I have energy..." Then he came closer to the mare. "But as curious as you are, you want the truth, right?"
"Of course."
"You see I have metal parts, yes? Well I am still a pony. I have the mind of a pony, and I eat and drink, but not often. Sometimes the technology on me makes me crazy-" Suddenly, his right eye flashed red. "And sometimes I wish to kill. I guess I am part Hybrid, half of one."
The mare stepped back in horror. She shook her head in disbelief while BlazingFlair watched in disbelief. He was only frozen now.
"But now that I have told you my truth, I must kill you." NightHaze mumbled.
"What-" SwiftStitch swallowed.
Just before she could make one more move, NightHaze bashed his mechanical hoof into her chest. The sharp blades sank into her skin with red pouring out. His Hybrid energy took over her, and his hoof sank in deeper as she collapsed. SwiftStitch was a hollow body left in a puddle of blood.
As NightHaze stepped back, BlazingFlair slipped down from the window. He breathed heavily with panic. Fear settled inside of him, Blazing hoped that the Half-Hybrid did not see him.
The earth-pony then sprinted out of the alley. The light hit his face, he had been out for a while. He needed to find his friends. Blazing remembered that if they were split up, they would meet up at the park. So that was where he headed. He bounced around the ponies that were in the streets now. BlazingFlair tried to keep steady.
He found the park, and like he expected, the other ponies were there. Even HyperBlitz was there, the reason Blazing was out. Hyper was speaking with them, he seemed to act odd. But BlazingFlair then jumped down with force, scaring all of the ponies. He rushed out and screamed.
"HE'S A HYBRID!!! HE KILLED THAT MARE!"
CharmingRhythm jolted. "Whoa, what? Blazing, slow down."
"That guy from yesterday! I saw him! He killed that one mare with hybrid powers!" Blazing blurted out.
"What guy? What mare?" Rhythm asked.
"That dude... what was his name... NightHaze! And he killed SwiftStitch!"
"How do you know?" FeatherTune stepped up.
"Because I saw it!!!" BlazingFlair yelled. "He told her that he was a Half-Hybrid, and then he killed her!"
"Blazing, calm down! Are you sure that you saw this?" HyperBlitz then said.
"YES! Why are you guys not believing me! It's true, I saw it! I can show you!
Now there was a crowd around them, many ponies looked at him with confusion. They all watched Blazing, and gave him mocking looks. But Blazing didn't bother with them.
"Really, NightHaze is a Hybrid!"
"What was that?" A harsh voice came from behind.
All of the ponies turned around, and the thin stallion stood in front of them. He took a few slow strides forward. He was angry, for he heard them. All of the ponies were in fear now. NightHaze only came closer.
"So, you think I am a Hybrid too?" He sneered. "I guess I'm just hated around here."
