//------------------------------// // The pledge and the shift // Story: The Librarian and her Knight in crimson armor // by Camlio //------------------------------// Right, story time again. There will be a significant change to the cast but, what it is will surprise you. Oh, oh, I love surprises! Indeed, hit the button! Geronimo! Max laid there on the couch in a semi-peaceful slumber for three hours since his collapse at the return of his memories. "Y'all think he's okay? He ain't moved in three hours." Applejack's voice could be heard through the veil as Max was stirring from sleep. "We'll speakin' of, howdy do there pardner. Good to see ya'll moving around" She nodded to him in a comforting manner while making sure Max wasn't injured one last time. "Twi will be mighty happy to hear your up. Why don't you go do the honors?" Applejack said with reassurance as Max stepped from the couch in the direction of the stairs with a nod, as Twilight was up in her room reading as usual. Knock, Knock "Who is it? Please come back later I'm too busy looking for something." Twilight said her voice shaky like she had been crying. Knock, Knock "I said I'm busy! Oh... fine I'm getting it." Twilight said as she sounded frustrated the door became encircled in the purple glow of her magic and swung open gently, to reveal Max on the other side of the door. The reaction Max had expected was to be smiled at and asked how he was feeling. That was not the case. He was tackled into a hug by the lavender scholar, her eyes filling with tears. "Oh, thank Celestia your alright! I didn't want to lose you. Not again." She said through heartfelt sobs. The pure emotion of the situation had finally caught up with her. Three weeks worth of sorrow, joy, heartbreak, and love boiled to the surface at once. She knew she cared for him, maybe loved him but, she was afraid that he would leave again. Then something she never expected to ever happen did. He got down on his knee in the manner of a Knight to their castle's princess. His eyes silently studying the floor of the room till he spoke. "Twilight Sparkle, from this day forward and until my lungs draw their final breath. Shall I be your Sword and your Shield. In honor of the life debt I owe you I shall guard you from any harm till the day my heart stops beating. I will be your Crimson Knight from this day forward, on my life I so swear it." He said these words in an unwavering tone like the three hours he slept were to prepare for the part after. As he summoned his weapon in a burst of light the blade became etched with Twilight's cutie-mark and glowed with the signature purple aura of her magic. The magical shock of making his body attune, to the new magic type, caused the orb in his right hand to glow brightly and release a beam of magic into the atmosphere. The resulting blast would change the lives of the inhabitants of Terra forever. (Using that name because it sounds like a good one for the world Equestria is on.) Cue new theme music.A new day for Terra ***** "Huh? What? Wait... I have hands?!" The words of Twilight Sparkle didn't go unnoticed by the others, they had all been changed by the large release of magic from the sphere on Max's arm. After a quick and awkward application of magic to the orb to fire a burst of magic into the sky again, everypony on Terra was at least semi-comfortable in the new bodies they had been given. At the very least they were no longer naked. Max opened his eyes after forcing them closed when he saw Twilight was basically stuck between a pony and a human in shape. What he saw after he couldn't believe the second burst Twilight shot into the sphere was not to reverse the effects but, to make it so that the worlds residents would at least be already used to the new shapes. Twilight stared at Max for a bit then giggled handing him a mirror. He looked like an Anthro-Alicorn version of Ragna the Bloodedge, his silver fur was overlapped by the crimson garbs, the crimson mane and tail, and his brown and silver eyes, were the main changes to Ragna's look that made him unique. His horn and the feathers on his wings were also a deep red sharply contrasting the usual color pattern of any of the Equine races. "Well it's not all bad. It actually feels like I've known how to use the horn and wings forever. That's good right?" He asked unsure. Twilight simply nodded. Wow! I look good! Yep. Would it be weird if I hug you now? Yep. Can I hug you anyway? Yep. *Is glomped by Pinkie, smashing into the fade out button.* Ouch. Oh Cammy your so silly! *She giggled as the screen faded out.* See ya, next time. Was printed in white on the black screen.
