The Lighthouse/So it Begins

"Bring us the Girl and wipe away the Debt."

30 Years ago Equestria had their Industrial Revolution. 18 years later Columbia was built. A massive floating city for all races. Then, 12 years later Columbia disappeared and Equestria went back to the way it was before, 30 years earlier. But a secret group formed by Princess Twilight knows what happened to Columbia. And more importantly, its threat to Equestria.

June 10th, 1012 C.R.

“So all I gotta do is take him to meet someone who’ll take him to her?... Alright. ...Yeah. ...Fine then... Alright.”
The stallion put the phone back on its holder and turned to me.

“Alright that was the boss. She said you’ve got the all clear to go. Good luck out there. And don’t forget the deal.” He said to me sternly.

I nodded and walked out of the old warehouse. The air was more humid than usual probably because of the storm moving in from the north. I was supposed to meet somepony here a few minutes from now.

“Better get to the pier before i’m late.” ,I said as I walked along the boardwalk.

The whole reason I’m here is because these ponies need my help with something. I dunno what, but one thing’s for certain they’re not telling me something. Something I ought to know.

I finally got to the pier I was supposed to be at and I waited. I waited for what seemed like forever. Finally a small dingy with two ponies in it showed up, these ponies were arguing about who would row next.

*cough* “Excuse me? Are you two the ponies i’m supposed to meet here?”, I asked.

They immediately ceased their bickering and the unicorn mare stood up from her seat on the dingy and walked onto the pier, holding her hoof out she said,”Yes my name is Rainy Skies and this” She pointed at the grumpy pegasus stallion, “‘good’ pony is our rower Storm Hoof. He will be rowing us to your destination.”
I shook her hoof as she explained who she was.

“Shall we be going then?”,I asked.

“Of course lets be going now. Don’t want to get caught in that storm brewing.” She said as she then looked toward the northern coast. “Unfortunately we will be heading toward that storm. There is an Island lighthouse in the middle of all that. We need to get there as soon as possible.”

She sat back down in the dingy and motioned me over to the seat behind her. As soon as I sat down the dingy started moving. Rainy and I had discussed what my mission details were again and she told she’ll tell me when we’ve arrived.

After what seemed like hours, we finally arrived at the lighthouse. Rainy turned around and hoofed me a rectangular wooden box with my employers logo on it. I open the box to find a picture, a gun, a password, and some money. I cock the gun and put it in my holster. I took the picture and gave it a good long look memorizing every detail of the mare’s picture. She has golden and cream mane color, she has a gray coat, golden eyes, and the typical unicorn horn. I put the picture back in the box and closed it.

“Is this it?” , I asked Rainy. “Hope so, seems like an awful place to be stranded.”,she said said as Storm Hoof pulled the boat around.

“Do you think we should tell him when we’ll be back?” Rainy had said to Storm Hoof.

“Nah. We’ll be back when he’s done.” Storm said, as he pulled the boat away I couldn’t hear what Rainy said over the sound of the thunder, rain, and the roaring waves. I decided to get inside as quick as possible before I caught a cold.

I knocked on the door of the lighthouse, “Hello? It’s Booker! I’m supposed to meet someone here? HELLO?” I said as I opened the unlocked door.

In front of me I saw a pillar with a mirror on it and sink.

There was a picture above it saying “OF THY SINS I SHALL WASH THEE”

“Yeah good luck with that pal.”

I looked at the faded old mirror and saw my reflection looking back at me. My brown mane soaking wet drooping onto my horn. Good thing my mane was so short. My cream colored coat also soaked to the skin.

I trotted over to the stairs were another picture had the words, “FROM SODOM SHALL I LEAD THEE”

I continued up the stairs and found what looked like a study. There was music playing on the phonograph. I looked to the side wall where there was a large map of equestria with certain points marked on it pins and connected by strings outlining some sort of path.

I continued on to the next flight of stairs where another picture greeted me with the words ”TO THINE OWN LAND SHALL I TAKE THEE”

I continued up and when I got up the stairs I saw a dead pony whose head had been covered with a sack. A piece of paper hung from some string around his neck with the words “ DON’T disappoint US” I gave the poor soul my blessing and headed to the observation floor of the light house.

Again I was back out in the rain. the wind had died down only a little. To my immediate left was a tall glass dome. On the door lock was the silver engraving of Celestia with her arms outstretched as to welcome somepony. Below her engraving was a set of three bells.

“Good thing I brought that password card with me” I pulled out the password card and rung the bells accordingly.

Then as soon as all of them were rung they rang back the same tune I had just played. Then there was a loud humming coming from what seemed to be the clouded sky. Then not ten seconds after word the sky started blinking red, on and off, on and off, for at least a good minute or so. All the while whenever the sky turned red I heard a horn sounding. Then after all of that the door opened behind me. Then a comfy red chair sprang up from the floor.

“I guess they expect me to sit in their comfy chair.”

When I sat down these metal clamps rose up from under the chair and held my hooves to it.

“What in tartarus?” I said as the chair spun around with metal walls rising up from the floor.

Soon they enclosed in some sort of capsule. Then the chair bent forward 90 degrees downward and my gun fell out. I cursed myself for losing that. Then the floor closed up and the capsule started to rumble. I looked out the only viewing window the capsule had and I saw I was heading skyward.

“NO N-N-NO NOOOOOO!” That was the last thing I said before I blacked out.
