//------------------------------// // Luck Of The Draw // Story: The Elements of Harm-ony // by Chris-Cross13 //------------------------------// Ponyville Hospital was enjoying their slow day. They're hasn't been a huge call for hours. Nurse Redheart was enjoying the peace. It was rare that the hospital in this sort of state. Suddenly, a crash was heard in the main lobby. Redheart jumped at the sound. "SOMEONE GET CHRISTIAN A STRETCHER PRONTO!" "Christian? The human!?" Redheart raced to the lobby to see Rainbow Dash and her friends, exhausted from racing here. Redheart glanced at Dash, who had the unconscious human on her back. "What's the problem girls?" She asked. "No time to explain all of the details! Just get him some help NOW!" Dash shouted as she pointed to Christian. Nurse Redheart carefully took him off of Dash's back. She quickly started down the hall. Dash and the others went to go follow her, but are stopped by another nurse. "I'm sorry, but you girls must wait here." "But we need to know if Christian will be okay!" Rarity said. "We'll give you an update on his condition when we can. But for now, you must wait here." The nurse goes past the doors, leaving the ponies with confused and concerned looks. Celestia and Twilight finally arrive an hour later. Twilight already explained what happened when she arrived at the castle. "Well? What did she say?" AJ asks Twilight as they sit. "She didn't say anything. She didn't even show any expression. she just left for the hospital and I followed after her." "Ohhhh! She must be furious with us!" Rarity whispers. "If she's going to be mad at anyone, it should be me. I'm the one who wanted to see the elements. This whole thing is my fault." Vague was depressed. He had unintentionally hurt his friend. "What if he broke something? Or an organ ruptured? What if he..." Fluttershy put a hoof on the sad pegesi. Vague turned to see her soft, small smile. "Don't worry Vague, I bet Christian will be just fine." Her assuring words made him smile and wipe his eyes. "Thanks Fluttershy. That means a lot." Nurse Redheart finally emerged from the double doors. Everypony got up from their seats. They wanted to know anything about him. Even if it was bad news. Redheart motioned a hoof toward Celestia. "Princess, a word please." Her words made the room go deathly quiet. Celestia looked toward the ground in sadness as she followed Nurse Redheart out of the room. Celestia had to say something, she knew it was bad news. The U.S. was not going to be happy about this, the whole treaty was in jeopardy. "Please Nurse, tell me what's wrong with Christian." She was desperate for information. Nurse Redheart stopped suddenly, she glanced over at the princess. Celestia prepared for the worst. "That's just it, nothing is wrong with him." Celestia was relieved at the news. But then she became completely perplexed. "I'm sorry?" she asked in a confused manner. "Christian has no broken bones, his vitals are fine, no memory loss, and no trauma. Not even a scratch! He was just knocked out for a few hours, but he awoke in peak physical condition." Celestia still couldn't understand. He didn't get hit with just some spell; it was the Elements of Harmony for her sake! "That can't be right." She said, denying the facts as they approached his room. Nurse Redheart opened the door. "See for yourself!" Celestia peers in to see the human watching a video on his phone. He looks up at her with a smile. "Oh, hey PC!" He pauses the video. "Can you believe I get service here? Go figure!" Nurse Redheart goes to leave. "I'll give you two some time alone. I'll be waiting outside if you need anything Christian." "Thanks Nurse Redheart!" She closes the door behind her. Celestia just gawks at the human. He looked fine! He looked as if he had just woke up from a nap! "Christian are you...okay?" Christian laughs at the comment. "Am I ok? I feel great! Why do you ask?" He then realizes something was wrong as Celestia started poking him and looking all around his body. "It's about me getting hit by the Elements, isn't it?" He asks. Celestia nods in confirmation. Christian sighs. "I got to admit, it's confusing. I mean, considering I kinda hate Twilight and maybe the others, I should have at least been turned to stone. But instead, i'm fine!" "I don't understand." Celestia was still in shock. "Maybe humans are immune?" Christian asks. "No, not at all." Celestia responds. "Humans are just as susceptible. The odds of you making it out of this in the form you are in now are astronomical." "In that case, I better go buy a lottery ticket!" Christian laughed. He knew the situation was serious, but he couldn't help cracking a joke. Celestia smiles. "Well, i'm glad you're ok. But for The Six to use the elements as showing off to Vague. They should know better. Something horrible could have happened to you!" "Yea." Christian ponders this little problem. Suddenly, he dawns a huge grin. "I know a way we can teach them a lesson!" "If it involves Twilight being sent to the dungeon, the answer is no." "No, no, no, no! I just...Hang on!" He pauses for a moment before yelling toward the door. "Redheart!" Nurse Redheart zips into the room, the speed would've amazed Rainbow Dash! "What's the matter?! Are you ok?! Does anything hurt?! How are your vitals?!" she starts putting instruments all over his body. "No! Stop it! That bloody tickles!" He shoves her away. "Knock it off! We need your help with something." Redheart looks at her human patient pleadingly. "What is it?" "We're gonna teach The Six AND Vague a lesson about using the elements as a show-offy gimmick!" "How are we going to do that?" Celestia asks, still wondering when his plan will take form. "Think about it Celestia, what did they're faces look like when you left to see me?" "Heartbroken and miserable. Poor things." "Now, you're probably gonna hate me for this. But, what if, now follow with me, I fake my death because of the Elements?" Celestia and Redheart look at him with bewildered expressions frozen on their faces. "Are you sure you checked for head trauma?" Celestia whispers to Redheart. "I'm serious! They need to learn!" "Christian, they do how to use the Elements just fine. This was just a bad example." "Yes, a bad example that could have killed me!" "Well...Yes but still..." Celestia was trying to think of another counterexample. "Think Celestia, you want the best for the girls right? Especially Twitlight." "Twilight." Celestia corrected. "That's beside the point. You're the teacher, do the right thing and teach." Chris looked at her with pleading eyes. Celestia thinks of Christian's words. He was completely right. The girls did do something irresponsible and it was her duty to teach them their faults. "Ok fine, what's the plan?" "Just pretend you're devastated at my condition, and Redheart, you pretend that I "don't have much time left," He winks. "Christian, you can't expect me to lie about my patient's conditions! I refuse to take part!" Redheart turns to leave, disgusted by his idea. "Redheart wait!" Celestia pipes up. Redheart stops instantly and turns toward the Princess, her eyes were big and pleading. "Do it as a royal favor for me. To help The Six and Vague," Redheart nods. "Of course Celestia. "You're the best nurse ever!" Christian shouts as she goes to leave. Redheart gently smiles at the perky human. "Heh, it's no problem. Alright, i'll go get them. I'll be back in a moment." Redheart leaves the room and starts down the hallway again. She thought about the choice she made. Technically, it WAS for a patient and it was for the princess. She was doing everything right. After all, Celestia knows what could have happened to Christian! She stops momentarily by the double doors of the waiting area to take a few deep breaths. She slowly opens the doors.
