// Story: The Swifting Story: The Dreams

Has Swifty ever thought about the dreams he had that he wished he would keep forever? Has he thought about the ones that came true? What about his nightmares? Here is the honest truth. Swifty never had a dream that he would keep, nor did it happen. At least he never had a good dream since his parents’ death. His dreams were always clouded with the same nightmare that he had over and over again. It was always about the bad things that he had saw or even experienced; all them combined into one painful nightmare. But however, this once particular dream he had during his time at the palace was not only a good dream, but it was a good dream he had wished for in a long time. 

Here is how this dream went:

Swifty woke up to find himself in a big, long field of grass. He sat up from the ground and looked around. He realised that he was in the countryside in the south region of Equestria. He got up from the ground only to realise that there was something on his back, it was his saddlebag. Swifty knew there were some things inside it as it was a little heavy for Swifty. He then proceeded to trot across the field to see if he could find any town or city. 

After a few hours, he had been trotting for about a few miles and he was getting tired and hungry. He decided to sit by an apple tree and have a little rest before carrying on. He looks up at the sky to see that it was nearly dusk and he could see the orange sunset over the next valley and smiles at the view. After a few minutes of sunset gazing, he got back up and continued his hunt for civilization. He was trotting along a tarmac road to see some form of civilization, realising that it was Ponyville. He quickly galloped to Ponyville and when he arrived, it was empty, a ghost town no less. Swifty was saddened to see that nopony was around to talk to. In defeat, he trotted across the town to move on when he saw some light in a big field outside Ponyville in the direction he was heading to. 

Swifty galloped as fast as his legs can take him and when he arrived he was surprised, no shocked even, to see a huge amount of ponies in this big field. Also there were some big tents with food inside, a big stage for musicians, some festival games for the fillies and colts, there were all sorts of stuff that he saw. But one particular thing hit him in the heart was Shadow Beat sorting out a banner that read ‘Congratulations Swifty Kick. Equestrian Martial Arts Champion!' Shadow turned around to see Swifty standing there at the entrance when one pony shouted out whilst pointing in Swifty's direction "He’s here!" At that point, all of the ponies stopped immediately what they were doing and looked at Swifty. Swifty stood there, nervously with sweat dripping down his face when he saw that all of the ponies were looking at him. He stood there for a few seconds and sighed in relief when all of the ponies cheered at him. 

Shadow Beat, on the microphone shouted out to Swifty, "Swifty Kick, brother of mine, come to the stage with me!" Swifty then trotted to the stage and climbed up to join his brother. Shadow, holding the microphones with his magic, announced to the audience "People of the Party. It seems our guest of honour as arrived" The audience cheered on but nonetheless, Shadow carried on "When it was announced that Swifty won the tournament and was named the Equestrian Martial Arts Champion, I had tears in my eyes of joy and I KNEW I had to throw a party in his honour. So, let’s give the man of the night a few words of this celebration" The ponies again roared with cheer as Swifty took the mic from his brother and stood in front of the roaring crowd. He had the sweat of nervousness again but remained there until the roaring died down and Swifty began to speak "Wow j-just wow. I-I don’t even know what to say. This is just...just amazing. For all you lot to throw me a party from my victory. I-I’m not a man of speech, but I do have one thing to say to all of you and especially my brother here. Thank you, all of you. You guys are so AWESOME!!" The crown roared again after Swifty's speech and they saw Swifty embrace his brother in a brotherly hug. Swifty let go of the hug and Shadow began to speak to Swifty "They would all want to get you now. Enjoy it brother. I'll be enjoying myself, I know that."

Swifty chuckled at Shadows remark and dropped down from the stage but before he could begin to walk around to see what was available, he was stopped by a familiar grey skinned, black maned and tailed pegasus. He shouted in excitement "Swifty!!" Swifty then shouted back to the pegasus "Cosmo!!" He then got attack hugged by Cosmo as the two are best friends since Swifty started school. Swifty knew about Cosmo's past as he trusted Swifty of this. Cosmo was from another world sent their by a tyrant King to gather information of Equestria, but as soon as he arrived, he had a memory wipe and no longer knew his mission and he believed to be from Ponyville. He met Swifty in school when they were in their freshman year and the two became quick friends. Their friendship grew over time and trusted each other with secrets and other stuff. At one point of their time at school, Cosmo had to move town due to financial problems with his family and both of them were devastated at this. They weren’t seen together from then. Cosmo and Swifty then had a brief talk about stuff they needed to catch up and what they did. "So I'll see you tomorrow for practice then? I can show you some moves I've learnt." Cosmo told Swifty, who replied back "You can count on it friend." Cosmo and Swifty both have one thing in common. They both have fighting experience. Swifty has martial arts experience and Cosmo has sword expertise. Cosmo then told Swifty "It was nice to see you again after those long years, but I have to get back to my family. So I'll see you tomorrow" "Okay I'll see you tomorrow." Cosmo then left to join his family whilst Swifty began to trot around to see if he can find anypony else familiar.

Swifty entered the buffet tent to get some food when he stumbled onto another familiar face. It was another pegasus but this one was Royal Blue with a Teal mane and matching tail. His cutie mark resembles a black cloud with lighting and rain going down from it. "Ah, hello good sir, I believe you are Swifty Kick, the man of the party?" Swifty replied back "I believe I am, Mr Stormy Skies." Both ponies shook hooves and began to talk more "I believe you know that my family is here Mr Kick? They really wanted to see you after that magnificent fight in the finals of the tournament you participated in." "Really? I would love to see them then, Mr Skies." They trotted over to the tables to see 2 pegasi waving towards them. One of them was white who had a striped mane and tail, which Swifty almost mistaken for Princess Celestia and the other was beige with a blue and pink mane and a blue tail. The white pegasus stood up and trotted to Stormy to give him a smooch on the lips. The beige pony also trots over to where the others are. Stormy then began to speak "I believe you remember the missus here Swifty?" "Indeed I do, nice to meet you again Mrs Skies" Swifty said whilst shaking the white pony's hoof "Oh please dear, call me Star. It is nice to see you again." Swifty smiled back and then noticed the beige pony. The beige pony was jumping up and down with excitement and said "Oh my god, it’s you. The pony that the others are talking about. I saw your fight with my big brother and I loved how you kicked the other pony’s butt." "Haha, thank you Sunny. It’s nice to see some fans in this party." Swifty continued talking to the Skies family about his misadventures and other things. The Skies family were good friends with Swifty's family and even took care of the siblings when the tragic incident occurred of Swifty's parents. The Skies family always treated Swifty and Shadow like their own, which has been a good aspect of both their lives. "The others couldn't come to the party as they are busy with other things. But they say their congratulations to you." Stormy announced to Swifty. They continued to talk for a while until Stormy announced again "It is nice to see you again Swifty, but we don’t want to keep you here whilst there are other things you could be doing. We'll let you get on with whatever you want to do and we hope you can stop by sometime." Swifty shakes each of the Skies’ hooves and said to Stormy "Okay then Mr Skies, it was nice to see you lot again and I'll try to stop by when I have the time. See ya later." Swifty said his goodbyes to the family and walked away outside the tent. 

Swifty went out to see that Shadow was talking to another pony near the stage. He recognized the pony almost easily who was dark blue with a white mane and matching tail and had a cutie mark of a dark, starry cloud. Swifty knew it was Shadow's best friend: Shadow Storm. Swifty smiled at those two, thinking about how close those two are, but as well he felt sorry for Shadow Storm and her past. She was kidnapped at young age and thrown into the Everfree Forest. She taught herself essential survival skills, and 3 days later, she was taken in by Zecora and the zebra taught her the dangers of the forest. Over time she had mastered her skills and moved to Ponyville when she was old enough. She went on a trip to Manehattan and avoided crowds by staying in dark places. After a few weeks staying in the city, she was approached by a stallion called Svard who was spying on her and needed her for a 'job'.  From there, she became a contractor to Svard. She would not kill in any given task or even generally. She uses her custom made Mosin Nagant made with tranquilizers made with toxins. Shadow Storm met Shadow Beat back when they were at school; Shadow Beat had caught her attempting to pickpocket him and he took interest in her and her skills and offered to be her friend, because she didn’t had any friends and neither did Shadow Beat. The two became close friends; they show each other tricks and knowledge. 

Swifty remained there for a few seconds and then walked off to see other stuff, but stopped and walked back towards the stage and saw 2 ponies in the DJ booth, it was obvious that the 2 ponies are the DJs. Swifty got to the booth when the 2 DJ's notice him when one of them said "Hey dude, you're the guy that beat that tournament and the reason were here at this awesome party." Other pony said after the other pony finished "Yeah, say thanks to your brother for hooking us up to this party. Oh, I almost forgot to introduce ourselves, my name is Blue Thunder..." he said and then pointed to the other pony "...and his name is Alabaster Electro. We're the DJ duo called Electro Thunder." Blue Thunder was a grey pegasus with a blue mane and matching tail. He also wore a brown jacket. And Alabaster Electro was a white pegasus and a blue mane with a matching tail and he wore a charcoal fedora with a matching jacket.Swifty has known Alabaster Electro for a few weeks, who were trying to make a living by opening a music shop. Swifty replies back to them "Yeah, I've heard of you two before. It’s nice to come down to the party, and I do have a request for you guys if that’s okay." The two beamed at Swifty and were paying close attention to what song Swifty wants playing. He told them the song and then told them to wait until he was ready. He saw another pony that he recognized before who was a friend of Cosmo. He trotted over to the pony to see that it was a pegasus. Swifty called over to the pegasus and she galloped over to Swifty. She then began to speak "Hey, it’s you Swifty. Cosmo told me about you." "It’s nice to see you too Cryptic." Swifty has known her for a while as they would pass by each other on the way to places. However Swifty doesn't know about Cynical Cryptic's condition. You see, she was brought up as an orphan but ran away when she was old enough. She currently lives in a small hut in the Everfree Forest. But that is not what was up with her. She’s gothic but shy around strangers. And, unlike Swifty, when she is provoked, she gets violent thoughts but doesn't act on them. Swifty carried on "I need to burrow you for a second, for a song that is. Is that okay with you?" Cryptic, stuttered back "Um...er...okay I guess" obviously shy about singing to a load of ponies. Swifty, at that point trotted back to the DJ's with Cryptic in hoof.  The four talked about the song they were going to play and soon after, Swifty trotted away waving back at the other three.

When the song was being played, groups of ponies gather at front of the stage to listen in closer and they were clearly enjoying the song. Swifty grinned at this and continues trotting around. He peeps inside one of small tents, which he finds a group of colts and fillies sat around watching some classic movies on a TV screen. He also sees a stallion at the back of the tent and saw a label tag that said 'Hello. My name is: Colt Classic' Swifty waved to him and he caught the attention and waved back and continued to watch the movie, this made Swifty carry on trotting.

What else he stumbled across was a blacksmith who was making some kind of sword, it looked pretty cool. The stallion looked up to Swifty, and began to speak in a russian accent "Ah, you must be Swifty Kick. You sure knocked that comrade dead. Come, you must see what I am creating for you." Swifty looks over to where the stallion is going to, which was in the back of the tent behind where he was working at. The stallion was brown unicorn who wore a flat cap due to the fact he had no hair and a short brown tail. He also had a moustache, a brown jacket and wore a monocle on his left eye. He had the same build of Big Macintosh except being a tad shorter than the Big Mac. The stallion came out with a big silver sword that was as almost as big as himself. The sword had been polished with extra polish, and there was also a craving on the handle that Swifty almost recognized. The stallion chuckled at this end said to Swifty in the same russian accent "That sword is one of my finest works. It took me a while to work with this baby, but in the end, she came out like a beauty. She even has the same resemblance as you do, take a look at her handle. It matches the same mark as you have."  Swifty was surprised at the fact that somepony has made a sword that had the same mark as his own. The stallion chuckled again "I can see by the look on your face that you like the work I produce." Swifty nodded and the stallion carried on "Then you can have the sword, free of charge from the greatest blacksmith in Ponyville, Anne Vill!!" "I'll be sure to get this delivered to your house Mr Kick, as this is a fine trophy for your house walls." Swifty thanked the blacksmith and continued to trot around to see what else is on offer.

Swifty looked up in the sky to see that it was night-time with the stars bright in the sky and the moon shining down upon Equestria. But that moment of peace was ruined as a pegasus shot through the sky in Swifty view. He turned to where the pegasus came from and saw that there was an air show full of ponies that went to watch and the pegasi practicing their routine. He trotted over to see the action closer, when he got stopped for the 2nd time by the pegasus that distracted his stargazing. He was grey-ish black and had a grey-ish black & teal mane with a matching tail. His cutie mark is tornado-shaped cloud. He began to speak to Swifty "Sup, dude. You’re that pony that kicked the other ponies butt in. Awesome work!" Swifty stood there, not sure if he was freaked out but nonetheless replied back "Err...thanks, I guess. I've noticed that you were in practice." The pegasus nodded back like crazy and said "Yeah, I was actually trying to get your attention to show you something" Swifty chuckled at this comment "Well, It certainly got my attention all right. So what is it you have to show me?" The pegasus pointed out to the sky, where there was a lonely cloud but the shape of the cloud was different than the others. The lonely cloud was shaped of Swifty’s cutie mark, which was a martial artist roundhouse kicking high. Swifty was quite astonished at the pegasus's work "Wow, that’s nice of you. Thanks" "No problem, now I've got to prepare for the show. I'll see you later" The pegasus took off to the air show whilst Swifty waved him off and he went around trotting again.

Swifty's mind was into thought as he said to himself 'Damn, all these ponies are really doing something to make it one heck of a party, I mean, who is the next pony that will make it better' His answer came soon enough when another pony came to his attention. It was a white unicorn with a light brown mane with a matching tail. His cutie mark was a quill on a book. He also wore glasses and a black jacket. The unicorn stopped in front of Swifty and began to speak "Hello. I believe you are Mr Swifty Kick, my name is..." Swifty instantly recognized this unicorn and interrupted him "Wait wait, are you Justice? THE Justice? The famous writer in all of Equestria?" The unicorn was a bit surprised at this but nodded "Wow, it really is you. My mother read some of your books from your book series 'The Gardens of Equestria' and she loves them!" Justice smiled at this praise and proceeded to talk "Thank you, now I'm here to actually get an interview which I will use for my next book. Would that be okay?" Swifty smiled back and replied "Okay, ask away." The two traded questions and answers at each other with Justice recording Swifty's answers. 

During the interview, a grey unicorn with a green mane and matching tail was painting on a pallet at the scene of the interview with Swifty and Justice also. Her cutie mark was a colour spectrum.  Apparently, the two were finished with the interview, shook hooves and parted ways. Swifty walked towards the unicorn and examined the artwork applied by her. She turned back to him, surprised at his appearance "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. I painted you a picture of you while you were talking with that other unicorn. Do you like it?" Swifty grinned at her "I like it, thanks Miss..." "Spectrum. Miss Spectrum" "Well, Miss Spectrum I like your art work, is it okay if I can pay for this one?" She saw him handing her some bits for the artwork, but she waved it off and said "Keep your money, and the picture. It’s the least that I can do for you." He thanked her for the picture and took off with the picture in the saddlebag and waved her off.

Swifty was really enjoying the party; his mood hasn’t been changed since his speech when he arrived. He could tell that all of the other ponies were still having a good time, and only a few hours have passed. There was nothing that Swifty would change about this moment, not now, not ever. But, as all good dreams happen, sometimes they throw in a mix of bad as Swifty experiences. Out from the ground, a wormhole appeared and started to suck everything and everypony at once. All the ponies start to run, but they could never outgallop against the power of the wormhole as the ponies were sucked in. Tents, the props, the food, even the whole stage was being sucked in. Swifty was clinging onto the rock on the ground to avoid being sucked in. Suddenly, he lost his grip and fell straight into the wormhole, falling into the pit of darkness. That was the last thing he saw before he shot out of the bed back at the palace, fully woke up and sweating all over. He did not know what happened, or where the wormhole came from. But at least he could smile from what happened at the party. He gave it one last thought before lying back down and going to sleep again.

Needless to say, that was not the only good dream Swifty ever had, but that is a story for another time...
