//------------------------------// // Part 39 // Story: Linkin Pony- Recharge // by Kaciekk //------------------------------// They all passed through the city streets. They also passed my different ponies. Many looked at them odd, some hid behind walls, and in old stores and houses. DawnShy said this was normal. LovingSong stopped by a building. The door was broken, and he pushed it open with his hoof. He slowly went into the dark room. As CharmingRhythm came in, his leg's energy light up the walls. Then LovingSong kicked something, and more energy appeared and light up the whole room. A mass amount of boxes piled up. Instruments were there too. A large variety also. Some electric, and acoustic guitars laid against the boxes. Single drums, and a full drum set, laid on the ground. Microphones and amplifiers were there too, their wires tangled. And the most striking, a large piano, closed and dusty. CharmingRhythm came to the piano. His magic pulled the top open. He checked the cords inside, they were all perfect. Rhythm sat down and whipped the keys. It wasn't a keyboard, but it would odd. Actually, Rhythm loved to play a real piano over a keyboard. It would produce a different sound for their music, but they could still get the right notes. "We can defiantly charge up these amps and mics with energy." HyperBlitz said. "What would we play?" EchoBeat said, scanning the drum set. "We should play a rocking song!" Hyper called out. "Something that would get these ponies on their hooves!" Rhythm let out a breath. "Really, I was thinking the opposite." HyperBlitz looked at him odd. Then Rhythm placed his hooves on the keys. He played only about five notes, but he made clear of the song. HyperBlitz was confused. "That?" He gagged a bit. "Yeah... I mean... it's something we can all sing. And I think it would be good for these ponies." CharmingRhythm explained. "And even if sometimes in the past, Echo and Feather didn't sing, I want them to sing now. EchoBeat nodded, But Feather cocked his head. "Why is it that all the songs we have been playing for ponies be from A Thousand Suns?" He asked. "You remember the theme from that album, right?" Hyper said. "Uh... um..." "It was that you have to keep moving on, and try to live in a conflicted world." Hyper explained. "And that's exactly what these ponies need to hear." Rhythm added. SpinningNote came forward. "All right, we know what we are going to do... so lets do it! Except I'm not sure how I'm going to do anything. I guess I could play some sort of sympathizer. I think I saw one." "We better get some ponies to help us get all the things we need." BlazingFlair said. Later, they had found a stage, and gathered many ponies to watch. All the ponies in the crowd still looked confused, and some annoyed. There was at least fifty ponies, since they had gather them most from the city. The band set up instruments and the wires connected to a generator. CharmingRhythm came forward at looked at the ponies. He tapped the microphone to make sure it worked. "Hello Everypony." He said, and his voice echoed. "We would like to play a song for you guys." HyperBlitz said, into another microphone. "Um..okay, how many of you ponies know who we are?" Rhythm asked. Only a little more then half of the hooves raised. "Um, let me rephrase that, keep your hooves up. Okay, you might not of seen use before, but how many have heard of Linkin Pony?" Then a few more hooves went into the air. "We're still playing for you guys no matter what! " Hyper said. CharmingRhythm adjested his microphone over the piano. He took a seat and nooded to the others as they positioned. (Please click, and open in a other tab, here to listen to the song) Rhythm pressed down on the keys, as Spinning played a noise on his sympathizer. Rhythm lifted his head up and began to sing in a soft voice. "You were standing in the wake of devastation And you were waiting on the edge of the unknown And with the cataclysm raining down Insides crying "Save me now" You were there, impossibly alone" - Then HyperBlitz came forward and began to sing, EchoBeat began to play his drums. - "Do you feel cold and lost in desperation? You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known Remember all the sadness and frustration And let it go. Let it go" - The music played and got a bit louder, FeatherTune and BlazingFlair both played also. Rhythm's voice came back, with Hyper singing back-up now. - "And in a burst of light that blinded every angel As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars You felt the gravity of tempered grace Falling into empty space No one there to catch you in their arms" "Do you feel cold and lost in desperation? You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known Remember all the sadness and frustration And let it go. Let it go" - FeatherTune played a guitar solo, then Echo picked up with a soft beat. All of the ponies put their head forward. Microphones were placed in front of all six of them. They all sang in gang-vocals. - "Do you feel cold and lost in desperation? You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known Remember all the sadness and frustration And let it go. Let it go Let it go Let it go Let it go Let it go" - Then the music got to its loudest part, with EchoBeat tapping on a tambourine, and HyperBlitz raised his voice. - "Do you feel cold and lost in desperation? You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known Remember all the sadness and frustration And let it go. Let it go" - As the music of the piano and synthesizer faded out, the ponies in the crowd clapped their hooves and cheered. It was an applause that they could never get from the camp at their home. The band exchanged glanced and smiled. They were sure they had the trust of the city now.
