“Ah oh man, note to self don't mess with mother nature" I groaned putting a hand on my hurting head as I started to come back to consciousness.
The first thing I noticed waking up was that I was still in my F35-2s and it seemed like none of us had sustained any kind of damage, so I started to wonder if my plane and I really were hit by lightning or if I had just imagined it. After giving myself a look through without finding anything to cry about I decided to do a systems check to make shore that the plain was OK as well.
The plane’s engine started up as usual and all the computers seemed to be working except the ones that needed some kind of external up-link, like the GPS for example but I let that go for now. Next on the check list was flaps and rudders so I grabbed the stick and systematically moved it around, it responded well to the motions so looked over my right shoulder to see if all the external mechanisms where responding as well, but as I did the realization struck me that I was no longer on the tarmac of the air base but rather a small clearing in a forest next to a big field covered with grass and flowers.
"What the heck?" I thought to myself. "Where am I?"
I decided to climb out of the jet and get up in a nearby tree to get a better look of my surroundings. At first I did not see anything more than just the field I saw from the cockpit but when I turned around I saw a clock tower that looked really familiar to me. I sat in the tree a long time trying to figure out where I knew the tower from. The realization came with a shock as I saw a flying... some thing.
"Wait is that a horse? With wings, but that would be a Pegasus. No way, it can’t be."
But as I continued looking at this winged horse I suddenly remembered that I had seen it before. The Pegasus had a gray coat and a yellow mane and tail, "Derpy?" Then I remembered where I had seen the tower before. It was the Pony Ville clock tower!
"Ha that would explain why the GPS isn't working".
As I sat in the there just looking at Derpy to see what kind of trouble she would get in to I thought about my options. I wanted to go in to Pony Ville but I feared that I might have a hard time to leave all that behind If I got to go back to my world. On the other hand I did have all I cared for here, my beloved F35-2s and I was closer to the all the ponies that I had dreamed about then I could ever be.
After thinking about it I decided to go to town, in the end I did not have any other option. So I got down and started to go through my supplies and equipment. For food I had some MREs or 'Meals ready to eat' and a full water bottle. I also had a small but very effective first aid kit. As for my tools I had an air force PDA that was charged by solar panels on its back so I would be able to use it for a long time, I also had a rather big knife strapped to my right leg, It was a combat knife that was supposed to be sharp enough to cut through a car door If necessary.
I put the water bottle on my waist, the PDA in my chest pocket, the first aid kit in my right leg pocket, an MRE in the left and I just let the knife be strapped to my leg. After going throe all that I started to hide the F35-2s with whatever shrubbery I could find, wouldn't want some random pony finding it. It took some time to complete the job but when I was done I started to walk towards the direction I had seen the clock tower.
After walking for a few minutes I started to hear the sounds and smell the scents of the town all of which had this fluffy kind of feeling to them. It didn't take long until I saw my first pony up close, it was an earth pony that I recognized as Bonbon. She was picking berries from a bush and she hadn't noticed me so I decided to say hi. As I did she responded with a friendly.
"Hallow there"
But as she turned around to see who she was talking to her face turned pail and I got the response I had anticipated, fear. She looked more scared then any of the ponies I had seen on the show, and before I could calm her down she started to run towards the town screaming as she did. I think she said something like.
"Help there is a monster on its way to get us all!!!"
I laughed a little to myself as I had guessed that I would look a bit intimidating to them, wearing my black jumpsuit and having a big knife strapped to my leg was not exactly the cutest thing you could find in Equestria. I was also a bit taller than them, the top of Bonbons head was right below my jaw and here back was a bit higher than my waist. I guess that it would be possible to ride one of these ponies if they were strong enough.
Before leaving the spot I noticed that Bonbon had dropped her saddlebags so I picked them up strapped them over my shoulders and continued to walk towards the town.
When I got there however nobody was in sight. All the shops were closed and the windows where covered. I guess that Bonbon had scared all the residents with here panicked screams of a monster. I decided that walking around town and wait for the ponies to make a move was the best thing to do, it's not like they would open their doors to a creature that they had never seen before. Zecora had at least been some kind of 4 legged animal and not a single pony even dared to look at her let alone open their doors for her.
So I continued to stroll around town for a couple minutes, I recognized many of the buildings like town hall, the spa and I even saw Twilights library. I figured that I should take a closer look sense Twilight was probably the easiest one to talk to and explain the situation to. I got so close to the library that I was under its branches when I started to hear a humming noise. It took a few seconds but I remembered that that was the sound of a unicorn about to use its magic. And shore enough I could feel something moving by my feet and when I looked down I saw a rope covered with a purple glow move about.
I sighed heavily and thought. “Well this sucks.” As I realized what was about to happen to me. I tried to get away from the rope but it was too late, as I jumped the rope spun a knot around my left ankle witch made me fall over and hit my head before I was lifted up in to the tree. As I hung upside down in the tree only half awake from the blow to my head I noticed brightly colored shapes walking out from the library. They started talking to one another but I only heard individual words like monster and dangerous.
Then the sound of magic being activated was heard again and I started to feel something poking me. I found that very irritating so I shuck my head trying to get my vision and hearing back. It worked and In front of me I could now see five ponies staring back at me, it was Rarity, Pinkiepie, Applejack who had Fluttershy hiding behind her and Twilight who was holding a stick in here magic. ‘Guess that solves the question of who was poking me.'
Even when being suspended upside down in a tree it was a huge thrill to see some of my favorite ponies for real, lucky I had been a member of The Reapers for so long that I had discipline like an officer so I could withstand the urge to just reach out and try to hug them which would not have made a very good first impression. Instead I just look at them and glare a bit at the stick that had been poking me.
"Ah don't think it liked that Twi" Said Applejack taking a small step back.
“It does look kind of angry" responded Twilight, with a very concentrated look on her face.
“Maybe it does not like being upside down or being poked by a stick" Whispered Fluttershy from behind Applejack.
"No matter if it likes it or not I just want to know what in Equestria this horrid thing is and what we are going to do to get rid of it" Said Rarity.
OK that was it. I was not going hang here and be called 'it' and 'that thing' and horrid all day.
"That thing happens to have a name thank you very much"
All the ponies except Pinkie who had lost focus and started to play with a rubber chicken had their mouths agape.
Applejack was the first to respond.
"It can talk?" She said still having a shocked expression on her face.
"Yes! And like I just said, IT has a name"
"Well um what would that be?" Asked Twilight holding the stick in front of her with here magic.
I decided to tell them my nickname K. I was more use to being called that any way. But before answering I pulled myself up high enough to reach the rope I was hanging from with my left hand and pull my leg strapped knife out of its holster with the right, it was a beautiful knife Its blade was black and about 9" long, one of the sides had a normal sharp edge and the back had a saw blade. It is basically what you would call a Rambo knife. And with one swift slice it cut right through the rope.
As it snapped I was turned around now holding onto the rope with my left hand. I put the knife back in its holster, let go of the rope and maid a gentle landing on the grass below.
"The name is K. Nice to meet you all" I shot them a smile trying to look as friendly as possible but they just stood there looking as shocked as ever. The first one to do something was Twilight, she had dropped the stick but here horn started glowing again and a purple bubble started to form around me.
"I really don't think that this is necessary Twilight, I mean you nor your friends any harm” Twilight gave me a very confused look, she was properly surprised that I know her name.
"How do you know my name?" Called it. Guess I should tell them about the show back on earth and everything but I did not have any intention of telling my story in this bubble.
"If you are willing let me out from this bubble of yours and have a calm conversation with me I will tell you and your friends about how I know about you. The ponies had a quick group talk before giving me an answer.
"OK but first you have to tell us what you are exactly?" Demanded Twilight, while still holding up here bubble.
"I am a human" I said simply not really knowing any other description to give. Twilights eyes widened as if she had just realized something important.
"Wait right there!" She said running in to the library.
"It's not like I am going anywhere." What was I going to do, dig my way out?
After a few minutes Twilight came back out, she lowered the force field and told everyone to come inside. Twilight had made a total mess of the library, there where books thrown all over the floor. She had surely been looking for a book that could tell her more about humans. As I looked around she levitated a book up to me and told me to look inside it. It had mythical stories and drawings of what seemed to be humans.
"Is this right." Twilight asked and when I told her that it was a long conversation started. I told her and her friends about earth and the my little pony show and so on, but I did not tell them about the airplane I had hidden outside of town. After the talk they seemed to trust me.
"Well even though you already know us we might as well get properly acquainted." Said Twilight, who started to introduce here friends to me.
"This Is Apple Jack, she is one of the strongest ponies in Pony Ville and she runs the Sweet apple acres farm with her family.
"Howdy there K you can just call me AJ if you like.” She said tilting her hat. "By the way, sorry for getting you tied up earlier he-he."
"Don't worry about it AJ, I got down unharmed after all didn't I."
"This is Rarity, she is the most talented dress maker in Pony Ville." Continued Twilight pointing a hoof at Rarity.
"Hallo darling." Said Rarity lightly waiving a hoof of her own at me. I chuckled at here greeting and told her that no one had ever called me darling before, to which she lightly giggled.
"This is Fluttershy, she is really good with all kinds’ animals."
" Um Hello." Whispered Fluttershy trying to hide behind her pink mane. I gave her a friendly smile and said.
"Hi Fluttershy, you don't need to be afraid I am not as dangerous as I may look, you have nothing to worry about." It seemed to help, she came out a bit from behind her mane and smiled a little saying.
"Oh um good to know"
"And I am Twilight Sparkle the top student of Princes Celestia."
She was standing close enough to me to shake her hoof so I lifted my right hand toward her. She did not immediately realize what I was getting at but she eventual lifted her hoof to my hand and we shook.
“And lastly Pink” She was cut off by the Pink pony who was bouncing around the library as hyperactive as always.
"...IE PIE. I ALWAYS LOVE TO MEET SOMEPONY NEW. BUT YOU’RE NOT A PONY ARE YOU? SO I GUESS I LIKE TO MEET ANYONE NEW. I ALSO LIKE TO THROW PARTIES FOR EVERY ONE, EAVE THAT MEANY GRIFFIN THAT RAINBOW DASH USE FRIENDS WITH! HAY WAIT A MINUTE!" She stopped talking and bouncing for a bit allowing my brain to catch up with her high speed hyper talk. "Where is Rainbow Dash anyway?"
All the ponies looked around and surely Rainbow dash was nowhere to be seen.
"Let’s go look for her. Twilight said. "We could show you around town while we do so. Would you like that?" She asked, with a friendly smile.
"Sounds like a plan to me." I replied. So me and the ponies exited the library and as we did I notice that it was still a ghost town outside.
"Did I really scare every one that bad?" Feeling a bit sorry for all the ponies that must have something to do.
"Apparently you did. Let me take care of it." Twilight walked a few steps forward and magically amplifying her voice as she called out. "Don't be afraid everypony he is not dangerous you can come out now." And sure enough the doors and windows started to open and ponies started to fill the streets once again.
Twilight and her friend started to show me around town introducing me to the ponies we passed. We came across two Pegasus ponies called Flitter and Cloud Chaser, they confidently said hi and that it would be cool to hang out some time. I got the kind of feeling that they were two really cool mares, ones that I would meet again sometime. We even passed
BonBon. I apologized for having startled earlier and handed her the bags that she had dropped.
"Oh thank you so much for bringing these with you and I am so sorry for calling you a monster earlier."
"Don't feel bad about it BonBon, no harm done.
We passed more of the landmarks from the show like Sugar cube corner where Pinkiepie had us stop and pick up some snacks, we also passed Rarity’s boutique where she tried to pushed me through the door saying that she just had to take my measurements so that she could be the first one to make a fabulous outfit for a human. I told her that it would be nice to get new clothes and all but that we should focus on finding Rainbow dash.
"Look Rarity I will drop by when I have time but right now we should find Rainbow Dash"
"Fine K but you have to promise me that you will come by at some point, you just can’t walk around in this." She gestured at my black jumpsuit with a disapproving look on her face. I was a bit offended by this. But what can you do?
"I promise Rarity"
After that was sorted we started to head for Sweet apple acres. We passed by the library again and twilight told us to wait just one moment outside. She went in for a short moment and came back out with Spike in tow, apparently he had been hiding out some place ells but had now returned to the library and let me tell you the little guy just barely made it up to my waist.
"Wow this guy is huge." He seemed rather scared but I noticed that after seeing Rarity he put on a brave face.
"Uhhh hi I I'm spike." He hesitantly lifted one of his clawed hands at me, I shot him a smile and shook his hand.
"Hey there little man nice to meet you. You can call me K by the way." As I shook his hand he was looking at mine with wide eyes.
"You have fingers!? Can we pleas play rock paper scissors? I never get to play it sense none of the ponies have claws or fingers like you and me."
"Sure we can Spike. But it will have to be another day, me and your friends are busy looking for Rainbow Dash. Have you seen her today?"
"No I haven't but at this time of day you are most likely to find her napping in a tree. You should try Sweet apple acres."
"We were just headed there. You want to tag along?" Asked Apple Jack.
“Well I'd love to but I have a lot to do, Twilight made a mess of the entire library looking for something." Twilights face flushed and she smiled sheepishly as I looked at her with a knowing face.
" OK Spike I guess I will see you some other time then."
"You know it big guy and don't you forget about the rock paper scissors thing."
"I won't Spike. See ya."
Sometime later we made it to Sweet apple acres where AJ tried to introduce me to her family. But I only got to see Big Mac, he didn't say much but he did live up to his name, he was about as tall as I was, maybe even taller if his ears where standing straight up. Apple Bloom was out with her friends and Granny Smith was asleep.
Even after the talk we had in the library when we first met the ponies had a lot of questions about my life and when they asked me what I do for fun I told them that my favorite thing in life was flying. This puzzled the ponies do to the fact that I didn't have any wings on my body.
"But darling you don't even have any wings." Rarity remarked. "How can you even fly?"
"I have my ways." I told her with a grin on my face. "If things go as I hope you will see how I can fly tomorrow." As I said before I was not going to tell them about my F35-2s or the Reapers just yet.
"If you really are a good flyer then you and Rainbow will get along really well." Said Fluttershy who was not as nerves as she had been when we first met." She is a really great flyer you know." I smiled at her and said.
“I think we will get along just fine.
We eventually found RD napping in a tree on the out skirts of town.
"I´ll wake her up." Apple Jack said having a somewhat sinister look on her face. She walked up to the tree Rainbow was sleeping in and gave it a hard kick with one of her back legs. It was more than enough to knock Rainbow down from the branch she was sleeping on. She came crashing down but managed to stop the fall with her wings just before hitting the ground. Apple Jack fell over and started laughing so hard that she was unable to catch her breath properly.
"Hey what’s the big idea AJ?!" Rainbow shouted at Apple Jack who was lying in the ground laughing.
"Hmm. Apple Jack, remind me not to make you angry." I said having my arms crossed on my chest and wearing a big smile on my face. Rainbow Dash hadn't noticed me until now but when she saw me she forgot about Applejack and just stared at me for several moments. Twilight was the one to break the silences.
"Hi Rainbow Dash, this is K he is a human, you know one of the creatures from the books that where only supposed to exist in legends and old pony-tails. And guess what he claims that he is a really good flyer just like you." Twilight looked at her friend with an excited expression but Rainbow just frowned.
"Ha I doubt that, he doesn't even have any wings on his back. How can you even fly?
"My wings are a little different from the feather ones you are all use to, I only use them when I need to have some fun or go somewhere fast, really fast."
"How fast exactly?” Rainbow asked, now with a interested expression.
"Even faster than you fast." I said with a challenging smile.
"Is that a challenge?" Rainbow asked narrowing her eyes and making an equally challenging expression.
"Only if you say yes"
All the other ponies where standing mouths agape as if they did not believe what they had just heard.
Apple Jack had just stopped laughing and now asked.
"Ummm K?" Without braking eye contact with Rainbow I replied.
"Yes AJ?"
"Did you just challenge Rainbow to a race?"
"I think I just did. Are you up of a race to Cloudsdail and back?
"A little marathon eh? I am so up for that!" Rainbow said in excitement making a back flip. "I am going to wipe the sky with you."
"You are that confident are you? Care to please a bet on your skills?"
Rainbow dash still sporting a cocky expression asked.
"What kind of bet."
"I was thinking if you win you can ask for whatever you want and I will do it as long as you do the same if I win."
"You know I have always wanted a servant of my own. You-are-on"
"Good. Tomorrow morning at 09:00 sharp at that field over there." I pointed at the field where I had hid my F35-2s.
"Fine." Rainbow said. "09:00 tomorrow it is." She spat at the bottom of her hoof and held it up against me, I shot a confident smile at her as I spat on the knuckles of my right hand and then bumped it with Rainbows hoof. 'This is 20% cooler than all the other bro hoofs any one has ever gotten I thought to myself. "See you there future servant." She said before she flew of in to the clouds.
"Are you crazy!?" Twi asked. "Do you have any idea what she will make you do when you lose? You can never beat her, she is probably the fastest pony in Equestria when it comes to flying, and nopony has ever beaten her!"
"You forget that I am not a pony I am a human. Do you remember what that book said? We humans have achieved things thought to be impossible before. How fast can she fly anyway?
"Well her top speed is about the speed of sound, but she only goes that fast when she performs her sonic rainboom.
"Ha, this is going to be a cake walk." The Reaper F35-2s was basically a two seated F-35 on steroids with a top speed of up to Mach 1.8. The ponies did not know of this so they just looked at me in disbelief.
