Endless roll out of the hay bail. He was feeling a lot better. It was late. Everyone was more or less asleep. he walk out of the barn. There was a full moon out. he look at the barrel of cider and sigh. What was he doing here. He wanted to go and fine his father. He Lie to Luna and the others. But now he seem to be trap in ponyville. But the truth about his father was to hard to tell them. It hunted him. It shame him. he look at the moon again.
“The truth. Can I bear it much longer. Or do I have to hide behind these lies. I know there no hope for him. But I must try. If only I knew how!” he slam his hove on the ground. A few tears hit the ground near his hove. he wipe his eyes.
“Damn. I got to stop that. Real Stallion don’t cry.” More tears fell.
“O well. I guess I’m still not a real Stallion yet.” he smile as tears stream down his face. He wipe his eyes one finally time. He walk out to the Apple tree field and sat under one. He look up at the stars. He never was very good with the star chart.
He remember a few. The north star was the easy one. It was just of the handle of the big dipper. But the rest. He could care less. Star were just little light in the sky that made the moon shine ever brighter. He watch as a few shooting stars fell from the sky. He remember a rumor he once hear. That you could wish on them and it would come truth.
“Why not. I’ll try anything once.” He stood up. He watch the sky and waited. Then it hit him. What do I really want? he sat down cross legged and cross his front hooves. He try to think of what he really wanted.
“That it. I knew what I want to wish for.” he watch the sky. It didn’t take long ether. A large star burn through the sky. he close his eyes and focus on his wish.
“I Wish. I wish. I wish to know how to cure my father.” he open his eyes slowly. He look around. Everything was normal.
“Well I guess it didn’t work. But can’t say I didn’t try.” he laugh.
“What going on here?” Endless look up. There was a Blue Pegasus with a white mane stuck in an apple tree.
“Hey you.” he look around. Then pointed to himself.
“Yes you stupid. What going on here? How did I get here? And Who the heck are you?” she yell
“I don’t know.” he said. Her eyebrow twitch. her face turn red. She started yelling. But nothing he could make out.
“And one more thing. If some one ask you. who you are? don’t answer with. I don’t know. NOW GET ME DOWN!” She wave her legs around. Endless flew up and got her loose. She landed on the ground.
“All these years and what I do I got to show for it. Nothing. And now some nit wit summon me out of luck. Pure luck.” he look at her confuse.
“Excuse me but what are you talking about?” She scream into the air and then sigh down to the ground.
“Look. I’m going to make this really simple. That even a nit wit like yourself can understand. So pay attention nit wit.” she said putting a hove in his face. he was getting sick of her calling him a nit wit.
“You see those.” she pointed at the sky.
“Those are stars nit wit. You got that nit wit.” he was disliking her more and more as she went on.
“Now listen. I’m only saying this once. Stars are those pony who have left this world. And every 100 years. 1 star fall from the sky. After that we are reborn into the world. Unless.”
“Unless.” he said
“Unless some nit wit like yourself get lucky and make a wish on it.” It dawn on Endless.
“You’re here because of me?” he ask.
“Ding, ding, ding, ding. We have winner. Your not that dumb after all. So what it going to be. World peace, Riches, True love? What your wish?” she said flapping her wings and floating around.
“Come on Nit Wit. What will it be? The sooner you make your wish. The sooner I get to go back up and wait another 1000 years.” she said.
“I thought you said you fall every 100 years.” he ask.
“We do. But everyone of us has a time we serve for the deeds we’ve done. Mine is a 1000 years.” he started to feel bad about making the wish.
“So nit wit. As much as I enjoy it down here. I would like to get back to stairing at the endless night of space again.” a tear ran down her face.
“Darn it happen again.” she said.
“Happen to me to.” he told her.
“Shut up nit Wit and make your wish.” he look at her. She seem familiar.
“Do I know you?” he ask.
“I don’t see how. I’ve been gone from this world for so long.” she said.
“but so have I. A 1000 years.” he told her. she look over at him.
“It can’t be. The stupid jerk did it.” she look him over.
“The mane all wrong. Are you messing with me nit wit?” she said.
“No. I’m a 1025 years old. I’ve been frozen in stone for the pass 1000 years. Give or take a few years.” she look him over again.
“What your name Nit Wit?” she ask.
“Can you end the nit wit stuff. I’m getting sick of it. And my name is Endless Night. Son of White Night and Endless love.” he told her.
“That hard to believe.” she said.
“Why?” he ask.
“Because I’m Endless Love The terror of the sky’s. Princess of the Sky kingdom and I didn’t have no Nit Wit son.” Endless was in shook. By fact he was talking with his mother and didn’t know it. And by how rude she was.
“I do remember that white night tho. We were fighting in battle. Then he try to put some curse on me. But it didn’t work.” she said picking her nose and flicking a boggier.
“Curse? What curse?” he ask.
“I don’t know. Do I look like a magic loving unicorn.” she said. he sigh.
“I just wish you could understand who I am.” he said.
“There you go boy o. I will now grant your wish.” she said. he realize what he just said.
“No that not my wish.” he said.
“To late nit wit.” she said a a smile on her face.
“come on mom. Can you just presented you didn’t hear that.” he ask.
“I’m not you mother nit wit. The mane all wrong.” she said.
“My mane use to be black.” he told her.
“What?” she ask.
“It change from being in stone all those years.” he said. she started to glow.
“I don’t understand. I remember. But then I don’t. If as if my life was live twice.” she glow brighter. It was to bright to look at her. Then it got dark again.
“I understand. Your father. He curse me. And in his guilt took me as his wife. So he could care for me. Even those he love another. Then I wanted a child. So he gave me you. But that all wrong. That not who I am. The dirty rat change who I am. I am going to destroy him for that. But that will have to wait. I have to back to the star’s now. But do me a favor son. Smack your father for me. One last thing. I’m very proud of you.” she said. Then she faded away. A tear ran down his face.
“Thank mom. You always know what to say.”
