//------------------------------// // Part 28 // Story: Linkin Pony- Recharge // by Kaciekk //------------------------------// CharmingRhythm then quickly galloped over and put his fore hooves around the mare. "I can't believe you're okay!" He cried out. "You're really here. You came looking for us?" "Of course, that's all I could do." She muttered to him. HeartFelt looked at the hoof that wrapped around her. The cold metal touched her body. The blue orb lit her eyes up, and she gently pushed CharmingRhythm away. "I had many ponies help me. I sort of had trouble getting here. I told many ponies where I wanted to go, and they brought me closer. I found myself in the larger city in the south, and I knew I was close then." HeartFelt explained. "Then I went around the hometown, I wasn't sure where to look. I had a nice pony lead me towards this place. It took me weeks really." She looked down to the floor. "You must have been searching since the last time we talked on the computer." HyperBlitz said. She nodded. "I'm so glad you aren't hurt....." CharmingRhythm started "Much....I know we all are hurt. " He looked down at his own leg, then over to HyperBlitz's wing. "And we have all changed. I'm sure I have changed a lot since the last time we saw each other." "The last time we saw each other was months ago. So many months ago." HeartFelt exclaimed. "I know..." CharmingRhythm placed his hoof on her. "I know." HeartFelt gave a smile, but he didn't smile back. BlazingFlair walked over to them. "HeartFelt, would you like something to eat?" He asked. "We have food and clean water." "Oh yes! I have been traveling for so long." She said. She got up and followed him to the meeting room, the other ponies came too. "We probably have the largest food supply storage you can find. But our food is in cans and boxes of course." BlazingFlair told her as he walked. "But I have fresh tomatoes." EchoBeat spoke. "And I think I did well with growing them. I will try more plants." "You're growing plants?" HeartFelt said. "And he's taken a lot of time just to watch the plant." CharmingRhythm said blankly. "I might be able to help. When I was little, I practiced my magic on plants." HeartFelt told him. EchoBeat looked at her, pleased. CharmingRhythm sat down in his chair. HeartFelt just gazed at the table, she took an empty chair. "Where will she sleep though?" HyperBlitz pointed out. "We can move the things out of storage or the tools." SpinningNote suggested. "No! Move out the instruments, we need to use them more often anyways!" FeatherTune said. He looked at CharmingRhythm. "Maybe..." Rhythm's eyes gazed down at the table. HeartFelt looked over to HyperBlitz and he only shrugged. HeartFelt could already tell that CharmingRhythm was different. He didn't respond well, he was unsure of things. Night had fallen, and the lights of the suburb glowed through the windows. The base was silent as they all got ready to sleep. CharmingRhythm led HeartFelt to his own bedroom. She stepped into the small room, Rhythm turned on the light. There wasn't much in there. The room was blank, the bed sat to the left. "You can sleep in my bed tonight." CharmingRhythm said. HeartFelt stared at the bed. Then she placed her hooves on it and pulled herself up. She turned her head and looked at CharmingRhythm. His eyes looked away from her, then started to place his hooves away. "You can take the blanket and pillow." HeartFelt tossed them onto the ground by him. "All I need is a bed, It's nice to actually have one. It's been long since I've had good sleep.. You need something to sleep on too..." CharmingRhythm used his magic to fold the blanket and hold it. He stood still for a few moments, then he jerked. He headed for the door. "You don't have to go out there...." HeartFelt urged. But Rhythm didn't respond. He tapped the light and turned it off. He went out the door and slowly closed it. Rhythm placed the pillow down against the wall. His head and heart were heavy with thoughts and emotions, he didn't want to sleep in the same room. He ducked down by the pillow, and dragged up the blanket. The hallway was dark, but the blue orb lit up against the wall. CharmingRhythm took his left hoof and clapped the orb. It slowly dimmed, and then turned dark. He flopped his metal leg down, and tried to get comfortable on the cold floor. Clopping came to him before he could even try falling asleep. HyperBlitz gazed down at him before he entered his bedroom. CharmingRhythm placed his head down. But why wasn't the assurance of his wife not helping him? What was wrong? "You're sleeping on the floor?" Hyper asked. "Does it matter?" Rhythm grumbled. "You really need to lighten up." Hyper nudged him with his hoof. "Seriously, You're wife actually came looking for you!" CharmingRhythm didn't respond. Hyper shook his head. "Try to get some sleep." HyperBlitz entered his own room. He turned and jumped up on his bed. He capped his hoof against the orb in his wing, and it slowly dimmed, like Rhythm's leg. The wing became limp, and he folded it down. HyperBlitz balled up in his bed. He looked at the door, it was dark, but he knew it was still there. He could tell CharmingRhythm was still in an odd state.
