Magicchaser: The Quest Of Nyx

by LittleStrongheartNyx

Prologue

"We are gathered here today in celebration of a momentous occasion. My most faithful student, Twilight Sparkle..."

She never dreamed of any of this: what had occurred yesterday, what was happening and where she was right now! She was standing between one of her aunts, the pink optimistic one, and her father in front of many ponies(1) in the same hall in Canterlot castle as the royal wedding(2). Her unicorn grandparents were near the front of the crowd and had tears of joy in their eyes. Her aunts were to her left, in dresses she never never saw before. And, beyond them, were the royal three, all dressed their finest. The tallest was her alicorn grandmother(3), the next-in-size was her half-sister and shortest was her aunt. Her unicorn uncle was there on her far left, in the uniform that he wore on "very special occasions(4)". Her father, to her right, was wearing a midnight purple suit over a white shirt and black pants(5). She on the other hoof, had a purple vest(6) and a turquoise hairband. She had no glasses, as everypony had a good idea of who she was, but was able to look, with overwhelming happiness in her reptilian eyes, towards the double-door at the far end as the presentation announcement was made by her white grandmother.

"Fillies and gentlecolts, may I present for the very first time, Princess Twilight Sparkle!"

The black alicorn filly's heart fluttered with even more happiness at the sight that came through the door. The lavender alicorn mare that walked down the isle, in the most beautiful dress and shoes she had ever seen, was her mother. She watched as the new princess came up to the royal three. Her "big brother" presented a wonderful tiara that now held the element of magic. Her grandmother levitated the beautiful crown onto her mother's head. The lavender mare turn her head toward her and the others and they gave their faces of happiness and approval.

It truly was her mother's finest hour.

"Thank you, friends. Thank you, everypony!"

Her speech was breathtaking, as if it was her heart speaking the entire time. Every word was true, her friends, her daughter and her coltfriend had taught her something about friendship, and she would always be grateful of them. The day was special, but the weekend was grand. While her accompaniments may had sat wondering what happened, and some may have jumped to conclusions, they were all so happy for her and were glad that she was still the friendly pony they all grew to know and love. Many had yet to achieve their own destinies but their bond was the strongest in the land. It had guided them through many-a-quest and would continue to do so.

The tears of joy continued to form as they departed the balcony. Even her brother and sister-in-law looked happy for her, "liquid pride" as they called it. The embrace she took for her friends, coltfriend and daughter felt as if the whole world was happy for her. The hug was as big as when they recalled their "cutie mark chronicles", but differently and a little bigger. Their relationship would never break, for a long as her friends would live. Their hearts were filled with happiness. The day had been one for the history books. Their work would leave an impression that would last forever. With so much accomplished, a bright future was in store.

Right then and there, as they walked toward he new mode of conveyance, she knew everything was going to be just fine.

The crowd cheered as the fresh royal chariot made it's through the streets of the shining city on a hill. Its only passenger waved to every one of her new subjects, only stoping once to catch a special bouquet that was thrown from her left. When they passed her eight trotting compadrè's, she leaped out and join them to one of the city's many balconies that overlooked the land. Thanks to one of her friends, she was able to fly with joy and confidence. When she returned to the balcony, she was immediately taken into a small, but joyful, embrace as one of the smaller amigos shed tears of joy.

The black coated alicorn filly felt much too happy to let go of, so she joined the ever-grateful hug. It had been a long weekend for the both of them, one of them had just been crowded the newest princess of the land, the other had witnessed her mother most of that weekend, from when she had fixed her friends to her gratifying speech, and short reunion with her brother and sister-in-law afterward. The lavender mare's wings encircled the filly, creating somewhat of a déjà vu for the two. Thankfully, the filly welcomed it, she had never thought to have seen the day. She had only done it a few times before, but it was at a time when she was spiritually struggling. They separated a few moments later, offering each other a few special words:

"I'll never stop loving you, mommy."

"Just like I'll never stop loving you, my little filly."

After a similar process with a brown earth stallion, the group continued on through the city. One of the ponies in the crowd what'd been watching them all this time, pretty sure that they would be the one's that would fulfill a personal prophecy in the years to come. His royal blue mane had been partially covered with a top hat, and had a monocle over his right eye. He had a jet black tuxedo over a white shirt with a bow tie, and a cutie mark of a cross-forks. The sky blue stallion watched as they trotted toward to train station, with promising words echoing in his mind:

"Enjoy your new age, friends. I have a feeling that little filly of yours might save us all someday."
