So after our introductions with everyone in the barn, I look to Twilight, she signaled me over to her and a few friends, "Who are you, you said you were sent by the princess right, but you don't wear the armor, and they normally work in groups", they all looked at me curiously, "My name is Chase, Im just some guy that the princess sent to find you", she looked like she was thinking hard, a deep thinking, she finally asked "why didn't she just send some guards", I looked around, they all really wanted to know, i wonder why, "she said that she couldn't spare a single guard, she needed all of them for protection, so she sent someone expendable". They all looked surprised, "she would never do that, she cares for all of her subjects, especially if it were to find us, i will assume you don't know who we are", I took note of who were around me, six people, so i will assume these are the friends that the princess was talking about, but why does she want me to save them?
"We are known as the 'Elements of Harmony', we are the users of the elements, we are used basically to keep the peace and, well, save the world, we could stop this apocalypse, and save everyone", for a second i just smiled, as if it were a joke, they looked and sat there dead silent, "Oh" i say weakly, they are telling the truth, then i sat up happily, "well this is great, i saved the six people to save the world, soon this will be over". They just looked, carefully, then i started to get it, why was i sent to save the people that could end the apocalypse, "Im just wondering, why the princess would send a complete stranger, to save the elements and her student" Applejack finally said to Twi, "Thats what I'm wondering too" Twi said with a glare. I was starting to feel uncomfortable, "well Im not the only one, Derpy over there came too" i said with a small chuckle, for some reason, they felt hostile to me, like someone was going to jump up, and hit me with the shovel, "Well from what i can tell, she was just following you, and another thing, she must have given you the option to help, why did you decide to come help" Rarity asked, "well, when i was approached by the princess by this, i thought of two things, one was that she was the princess, i couldn't just say no, but i also thought that there are people out there fighting for there lives, so i just thought i could help her out".
After a brief conversation on what exactly happened in the town and such, i hear a moan from behind Fluttershy, Rainbow was finally waking up, she leaned up and took a quick look around, when she got to me, she just stared, i started to think about how she might thank me or something, "who is that loser" she whispered to Fluttershy, but i heard it pretty well. After a brief silence, she whispers again "did he hear me", i simply looked at her, "anyway" i finally said, "you were going back to why i was sent" i looked to Twi who finally looked back, "Yes, you see, i know the princess better then anyone, and i know that she would never do something like that, she would send guards to secure us, so I'm wondering why she sent you, maybe there is a distinct reason, but I'm not sure, the best way to get the answer is to ask the princess herself" I nodded in agreement, there must be some reason she sent a stranger. We finally wrapped things up, and i made my way out of the barn, until i was tackled again, from my right and left, as i was walking two people decided to jump on me, one from my right about at my neck, and left near my legs, ending with no one actually grabbing me, and me spinning in the air and landing on my head.
"OH MY GOSH IM SO SORRY" i hear coming from two different people, before i could tell if up was down, i was being tackled again, by now there were two people on my chest. Derpy had finally woken up from her slumber, and Pinkie had just tackled me, i guess to get my attention. My head finally stopped spinning, and i finally got a good look at the women, "Derpy" i say in a faint yet relieved tone, i pull her in to a hug, i was happy she was ok, she finally hugs back, then i hear crying, and look beyong derpies shoulder, seeing a miss Pinkie bawling her eyes out. "WAHHHHHH,THIS IS SO SWEET, WAHHHHHHHH", she continued for a few moments as me and derpy looked at each other with confusion and concern, no for each other, but for Pinkie. "Pinkie are you okay, are you hurt or something" Derpy asked in a tired voice, she obviously needs more sleep, but i can tell i wont be able to convince her, not without some sleeping pills and tea at least.
As me and Derpy got up, Pinkie finally came up closer, "Im sorry about that, i get emotional when i see love", Me and Derpy blushed a deep crimson and looked away from each other, finally Derpy spoke up "we are not really, together", as the words left her mouth I could hear a few people in the barn grow quiet, i wonder why, "well anyway" pinkie continued "I wanted to get to know you, since your new and all, I wanted to learn more about you" she said to me in a more serious voice this time. I happily obliged and we sat on some hay bails, it was also a chance for Derpy to get to know me a little better, as i have told her about me, she might have forgot, I know I would have, bad memory. "Well, i was born in, well, i don't know" I began, as I told my tale of being an orphan and, never knowing my parents, being an unpaid slave, it seemed to have attracted a crowd, as everyone in the barn gathered around, I just continued, as i got to the part of my closest mother I had ever had, people seemed to have been on the edge of there seats. As I told them how they died, everyone jumped back, like they were watching.
I wrapped up the story with a 'now I'm here' thing, when I finished, Pinkie proceeded to pat my shoulder, as if to help, and i appreciate it, a lot. The crowd dispersed in silence, which I more or less expected, I made my way out of the barn, it seemed that this would be over with soon, but i had a feeling that there was a little more to this, i kept wondering why i was sent, and then i wondered, how many people can fit on our boat, from my calculations, its only built to harbor no more than 8 at least, and there were more then 10, obviously a problem. I walked to the house where I saw AJ had entered, I walked in to see her talking to the older lady in the paintings, I walked up as the women walked away, "thats Granny Smith, she's off to take her nap, so what do you need sugar cube" AJ said with a grin, "Well, since I might be here awhile as we plan our next moves and such, I would like to know how i can make myself useful in any way" I asked, she seemed to have liked what i said, "some with me, me and my brother are workin on something and need help".
She led me to the back of the barn, where there was sitting what appeared to be a wagon, but had something hooked up to it, "Awhile back, our family was challenged in a contest to who could make the most apple cider in an hour, we were challenged by a couple of city folk with some strange contraption, Twilight saw the ingenuity in this device, saying with the right parts and builders, and with the aid of magic, could be made into a transportation vehicle, like a train, but smaller, so Twilight, Big Mac and I have been working on this here wagon, big enough to fit more than 20 people, and if we do this right, can go just as fast to a little slower than a train, but we need help, do you think you can help". My head was spinning with this idea, transportation, with a wagon, but without horses pulling it, yeah we have trains, but this is like taking the engine of the train, and sticking it on a wagon.
I was blown away by the thought, but reluctantly agreed to the idea, we worked all day on fastening the engine up on the wagon, working on it, putting pieces together, and just trying to get this working, I had devised a plan in my mind while we worked, as I see it, we have a new form of getting to canterlot if this works, so that means that we don't really need the boat, but we cant just leave it, after a brief pause to think, i finally thought of it, since the cakes have babies we should set them on the boat, safer, quieter and quicker, and Rainbow, she is still in no state to make a long journey, and Granny smith with AppleBloom, and of course Derpy would have to go with them, besides me and her, no one else knew how to use a flying boat. As we finished up the work, I looked to the sun, it was setting, everyone started to go towards the barn again, as did I, though I was never given a designated place to sleep.
I entered the barn to see everyone getting settled in for sleep, the sun was all the way down and the doors were shut, I looked around for an empty spot on the ground or a comfy hay bale, until i got a gentle tap on the shoulder, i turn to see Rarity, standing rather nervously, "if you need a place to sleep, well, you can sleep with me" she said without a single hint of embarrassment, I was taken back by her offer, it was silent for a few moments, until she finally spoke up again, "Well" she said with a wink, I hesitantly nodded, and followed her to her mat on the ground, she was using five pallets, 3 blankets and at least 6 pillows. As I wondered where these were earlier, she lies down and signals me over, I start to lie down near the more outer part of the pallet, but she grabbed my arm and pulled my closer, she insist for me to sleep right next to her, I hesitated, but eventually got onto my back, as i got in the covers, Rarity rolls over, looking me in the eyes.
We shared a look for a few minutes until she finally whispers "You don't have to be embarrassed, its just for tonight, anyhow, I miss spooning with someone. I have to admit, she is the prettiest person i have ever met, and something about her, made her seem like she was different, while she walked, talked and acted like an uptight person, I could feel that was much more, we finally got comfortable on the pallet, getting into a good sleeping position, and I started to dose, I finally hear someone say something from behind me, it was quiet, but serious, i had no idea who said it or what was said, but someone was pissed off, and i wonder why.
