Prologue
“Just because you can’t understand something, doesn't mean it isn't worth believing in”

You've heard the tales of Ponyville, we all have. Built up by earth ponies, it was place that was (for the most part,) secluded from the hustle and bustle of busy urban life. A rural life of peace where everypony helped each other as much as they could; Pegasus, Unicorn and Earth pony alike. Ponyville had an apple orchard that stretched for miles across rolling hills; cafes that served the most delicious cupcakes and treats imaginable; boutiques that displayed the prettiest dresses and suits that anypony had ever laid their eyes on. And of course, anypony that hasn't been living under a rock for the past 4 years has heard of the six brave mares that live in Ponyville that have fought off evil from all corners of Equestria, each of them embodying the spirit of one of the six virtues of the elements of harmony. But you knew this already.

What you don’t know is that recently, there have been rumors of a darkness looming, far off in the out-lands of Equestria, where not even the bravest ponies dare to venture, and of a seventh virtue of the elements of harmony! A virtue, it’s identity of which has remained a mystery since the beginning of ponykind, that has chose to reveal in a brilliant display of light and magic that could be seen from Canterlot to Fillydelphia , that a greater power than even that of Celestia and Luna, is encroaching upon Equestria’s boarders. Only with the seventh element of harmony and the pony that represents its virtue, will the “great power” be able to be defeated! But no pony even knew what the seventh virtue was; let alone who the pony embodying it could be! Princess Celestia herself was stunned at this revelation; she set to work every researcher, scholar and wizard pony she could find into trying to find out about the mysterious seventh virtue, yet no pony could find any trace of its existence, even the oldest known records of the vast Canterlot library made no mention of it. It seemed like it was fruitless effort and that the lights in the sky had led them on a wild goose chase of false prophecies yet to come...

That is, until two years later, when, travelling in the jungles of Equestria, a young adventuring gentle colt discovered a tablet while hunting for gemstones in an ancient, untouched temple; a tablet that would change his life, and perhaps the future of Equestria, forever. This was my discovery, this is my story...
