//------------------------------// // Part 17 // Story: Linkin Pony- Recharge // by Kaciekk //------------------------------// CharmingRhythm sat in the meeting room. FeatherTune and HyperBlitz were in there also. They all sat in their usual spots. "I think my wing is almost healed." FeatherTune said. "Good, then I won't be the only working Pegasus." HyperBlitz told him. "Working?" Rhythm said. "Don't correct my word choices." HyperBlitz snapped. FeatherTune tried to bend his wing. He stopped, he didn't want to do anything bad, it was still in a bandage. He glanced over at the door. It opened and SpinningNote clopped in. "I perfected the armor." The unicorn announced. CharmingRhythm nodded. He stepped up his hoof that showed some of the armor. It had a orb in it, much like CharmingRhythm's, that glowed blue. "I think wee all need to wear hoof covers for now on." "That's a good idea. All of us need it." Rhythm said. A looked over to FeatherTune. Of course he had some energy in his back leg, but it would be easier to use his foreleg. SpinningNote came over to HyperBlitz and dropped a metal hoof cover on the table. "Try it on. " HyperBlitz placed his left foreleg on it, then he snapped it close. He pressed the circle on it, and it started to glow. The cover had designs on it, flames etched on it. "That's fucking sweet." He murmured. Spinning bowed his head. "I tried to make armor details relate to each of us. But I'm not really sure for some." He turned over to the other ponies in the room. "If you have any suggestions, let me know. Just nothing stupid." Just then, BlazingFlair walked into the room. He glanced over at the hoof cover Hyper had. "What's this? A meeting? Or is this room just accumulating ponies?" He said. "All but EchoBeat." CharmingRhythm added. "He said that he isn't felling well." BlazingFlair said. "Like how?" Rhythm cocked his head. "Maybe he was allergic to performing." SpinningNote said, but nopony listened to him, except Feather who had an odd expression. "I don't know, he's just in bed now." Blazing tried to explain. "Hmm." CharmingRhythm looked over. "How could he be allergic to performing? You know we've performed hundreds of times." FeatherTune said bluntly. "Maybe it happened after the change... I'm surprised the hybrid's don't notice." SpinningNote told him. Suddenly they all looked at CharmingRhythm who jumped up and froze. "We can't play anymore! Hybrids! The music is too loud, of course they find us!" "Why didn't they then?" FeatherTune asked. "We're we just lucky?" "I should of thought of this. We were putting those ponies in danger." "But no hybrid's came, right?" BlazingFlair said. CharmingRhythm jumped down. "But the Hybrid's WILL come. They know where we are. They don't have thoughts, but they do have senses. They are triggered to go towards commotion." "Then, all these ponies in one area is bad." HyperBlitz said. "Not unless we keep it down!" Rhythm replied. "Maybe it's the hybrids that are allergic to music." Blazing spoke. SpinningNote turned to him. "How?" "Well, they are weak to the pure energy." BlazingFlair tried to set up his conversation. "Yesterday, I took my bass and amp and put it with the generator. The generator charged the amp, but when I played a cord, the energy bar in the generator went up." "So they work together, mutualism..." Spinning said, and Blazing nodded. "Still," CharmingRhythm shook his head. "It's not worth the risk, these ponies don't need hybrids to attack." "We won't let that happen." HyperBlitz said. "To those ponies, we are their saviors. It seems odd, but that's how it is." Rhythm gave a sigh. He turned around. These ponies believed that they could fix all of this. But the only way to do that is if they helped too. After a while, ChamringRhythm just decided to leave. He passed through the empty room and hallway. His hooves' clopping echoed off the walls. He looked over. The door to his left was opened by a crack. He pushed against it and looked inside. EchoBeat's face was buried under the covers, but his brown and red hair stuck out. Rhythm just stared at him for a while, then he stepped up and placed his left hoof on the bed next to him. "Echo?" Then the red pony poked his head out. His weary brown eyes looked up at CharmingRhythm. "You okay? Blazing said you didn't fell well." EchoBeat only murmured "My head and eyes hurt." He rubbed his eyes with his hooves. "Migraine... makes sense since we didn't have correct ear buds." "I don't believe it's from that..." EchoBeat sighed. "It's just normal, we all get headaches." He pushed his face into the blankets. "I don't think we should play songs anymore." Rhythm told him, Echo glanced up a bit, "We could attract hybrids." Then EchoBeat put his head down again. "Hmm." CharmingRhythm paused, then stepped back. "Why don't you get some rest, okay bud?" He quietly went outside into the hallway. Rhythm pushed the squeaky door shut. He turned and saw the cold, empty hallway. He felt like the hallway right now. He was pretty much the ponies leader, he could tell them what to do, and they trusted him. But Rhythm wasn't sure if he could trust himself though.
