The next morning, inside a tree library, a purple unicorn named Twilight Sparkle had just finished eating some breakfast when her dragon assistant named Spike walked up.
"Twilight, we've just received a letter form the Princess!
Twilight picked it up.
“What does it say Twilight?”
“It says: Dear Twilight Sparkle, Luna informed me of two mysterious objects falling from the sky last night and they landed in the Everfree Forest. I want you and your friends to report to the entrance of the forest pronto! Signed Princess Celestia. One sweet Celestia! I hope those objects aren't dangerous!" said Twilight. As the Mane six was walking to the forest, Twilight looked over to Fluttershy. She seemed very nervous. “Hey Fluttershy, you seem anxious. Something on your mind?”
Fluttershy looked up. “What? Oh um, yes, actually. You see, when I heard about those objects hitting the Everfree forest, I couldn’t but help think about all the poor little animals that were scared, or even hurt by them when they landed!”
“Oh cheer up now Fluttershy, I’m sure nothing was hurt,” Rarity said.
“You really think so?” Fluttershy asked hopefully.
“Yeah!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed as she popped up next to Fluttershy, “And look on the bright side! After this little trip, I’ll throw a party for everyone!”
"That’s Pinkie Pie for you," Twilight thought to herself. When the Mane six came to the forest entrance. There at the main entrance stood Princesses Celestia and Luna, both accompanied by two of their own guards. Also there were two groups of ponies. One was all Pegasus and the other was mixed with a slight majority of unicorns.
Then Shining Armor walked up to Twilight and hugged her, then Twi saw another familiar friend. It was Cadance! Then she ran up the pink Alicorn and they both did their greeting, "Sunshine, sunshine! Ladybugs awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!"
Celestia cleared her throat. “Excellent, so I assume we are all here? Good. Now, before we go into the woods, I want you all to know what we are searching for.”
Twilight stepped forward. “Princess, you said we were searching for the impact sites, right?”
Celestia looked a little sheepish. “Well…yes but, there’s actually more to the story.”
The crowd began to speak up and shuffle a bit.
“Now settle down, settle down,” Celestia called out, “Now I didn’t want to alarm any of you when I first informed you of this. My sister Princess Luna will tell you what she…saw.”
Celestia stepped back for Luna, who stepped up. “Loyal subjects, this is the truth of what really happened last night.I had just finished putting the final touches on the night sky, and I was flying back to the castle. Then I saw two objects falling from the sky. One was small about the size of Celestia but the other one was about 30 feet tall with arms and legs!" The other ponies stood there in awe.
Celestia began to speak. “Now for everypony’s safety, I want you all to travel together. If you find any of these objects, or yet if any of them are still alive, I want you to make nice with them, our best course of action is to make them our allies. Also, if they attack you, do not immediately fight back, try to reason with them. Remember they may be disorientated from their fall. If they persistently continue to try to harm you, you may fight back in self-defense or better yet, run and find another pony. Good luck to you all.”
With that Celestia, Luna, and their guards turned around and walked into the forest. The other ponies soon followed. Shining Armor and Cadance were leading the group that consisted of Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity. At first the group followed a single path, then as the mass went deeper into the wood they began to split up. Eventually Twilight’s group was alone.
“Twilight,” Rarity said as she nervously looked at the twisted dark trees, “ How do we know if we’re close to one of those, *ulp*, objects?”
“We don’t. We have to keep looking until we find one,” Twilight responded.
They continued walking for about ten minutes when Applejack lifted her nose. “Do ya’ll smell that? Its coming from over there!” Then they ran to the source of the smell and came up the foreign objects. The six ponies stood there for a moment watching the objects no movement. Thomas and Luke were still unconscious. As the ponies looked at the objects Twilight noticed something familiar about the small object (Luke), then she picked it up with her magic to look at it more carefully. Then after examining the object she knew what it was!
"It's a Kerr Stuart Wren!" exclaimed Twilight.
"A Kerr what?" said Pinkie.
"A Kerr Stuart Wren! It's a narrow gauge engine that was made by the Kerr Stuart company. I've read about these engines." answered Twilight. Then Rainbow saw a word was written on the side of the Wren.
"Look there's a word written on it! L-U-K-E, Luke." said Rainbow.
"Luke? What in the hay does Luke mean? said Applejack confused. Then the ponies took a look at the big object (Thomas) and really took a good look at him.
"It's a robot." said Rarity. the ponies walked around the robot and found a number 1 on him. Then Princess Celestia trotted in with her guards, Luna, Shining Armor, and Cadance.
"Thou objects are just a robot and a Kerr Stuart Wren. They look injured, I suggest we take them to the castle and try to heal them." said Luna.
"You are right, they do deserve some care." answered Celestia, then with that both Princess' horns began to glow and they picked up Thomas and Luke. Then the whole group headed back to the castle.
