//------------------------------// // Part 14 // Story: Linkin Pony- Recharge // by Kaciekk //------------------------------// In the silence, CharmingRhythm's eyes opened to see the ceiling. Barely feeling rested, he got up. He looked around in the hallway. It seemed that he had gotten up late. Rhythm walked into the main room. Nopony was there. He could hear voices from the other room. He could tell that they were all in there. Rhythm went to the door and put his ear on it. "Why have you had so much rage lately, Hyper?" BlazingFlair asked "It's not rage! I just have a lot of energy to let out." HyperBlitz laughed. "I guess it's good to use it on hybrids." FeatherTune said. "Apparently the pure energy likes it when you use it." SpinningNote said. "I thought Rhythm had the most pure energy?" BlazingFlair pondered. "He doesn't use it much." EchoBeat put out there. "Maybe if he was himself, he would." FeatherTune added. "He doesn't act like he use too. Now he's more independent then ever." "We have all changed, but I guess Rhythm has changed the most." SpinningNote said. CharmingRhythm stepped away from the door with his head down. "I know I'm not the same pony I use to be," he thought. "I wish I was, I could do much more then. What's stopping me?" He studied the floor. The symbol appeared. The circle, that diagonal lines crossed over, meaning to spell out "LP". If any pony wasn't with them, they weren't a group anymore. They all had tribute to the group. Rhythm looked out the window. He knew a few weeks ago he didn't feel like this. Was it because of HeartFelt? CharmingRhythm didn't want anypony, no matter the relationship to him, to be in danger or stress. Maybe it was the ponies that started the camp. He didn't want them to be hurt. He started to rap slowly. " I woke up in a dream today To the cold of the static, and put my cold feet on the floor Forgot all about yesterday Remembering I’m pretending to be where I’m not anymore A little taste of hypocrisy And I’m left in the wake of the mistake, slow to react So even though you’re so close to me You’re still so distant And I can’t bring you back" He took a deep breath and looked down. But something broke the silence. A voice, with an agressive tone. "It’s true the way I feel Was promised by your face The sound of your voice Painted on my memories Even if you’re not with me..." Rhythm turned around and saw HyperBlitz. "I'm with you." Hyper finished. CharmingRhythm loosened, then turned back around. His friend's hooves clopped on the floor next to him. "Any reason for that song?" HyperBlitz asked. "I don't know." Rhythm said. "I just overheard you guy's talking. And you were saying how I wasn't me." "We didn't mean to talk bad about you, Rhythm" Hyper explained. "No, It's true. I'm not the same pony." "Sure you are. You're just a bit depressed. Singing, or rapping, will help." HyperBlitz nodded. "But not that kind of slow rap." "What, something like Papercut? That's a lot of our old songs... But all songs are good..." "I don't know. Are you feeling insane?" Hyper joked. "Papercut is a really fast song." "Why does it feel like night today? Something in here's not right today. Why am I so uptight today? Paranoia's all I got left I don't know what stressed me first Or how the pressure was fed But I know just what it feels like To have a voice in the back of my head Like a face that I hold inside A face that awakes when I close my eyes A face that watches every time I lie A face that laughs every time I fall" "And watches everything" HyperBlitz added in. CharmingRhythm smiled. "See, that helped." HyperBlitz nudged him. "Doesn't every time you think of that song, you think of when you broke your hoof?" "Well... yes... But that was the past!" HyperBlitz called out. Rhythm looked forward. "Yeah... the past." "Now, don't go back all depressed." Hyper yelled in his ear. "Stop it!" CharmingRhythm pressed his hoof into his face. "Your going to blow out my eardrum." "I'm surprised I haven't already." Hyper jumped over and smirked. "Me too." Rhythm laughed a bit. Maybe just some socialization helped. Maybe that's what was wrong. There was so many ponies that had died. Many that they couldn't meet out on tours, or even play too. But CharmingRhythm saw that he still had his own friends. "Why do i keep hearing raps?" BlazingFlair said from behind. "Why cant i rap?" "I just haven't heard you sing or rap in a long time Rhythm." Blazing tilted his head. CharmingRhythm smiled. "Well, there should be some changes. " He glanced over to the side for a bit. "If we would go and defeat the hybrids somehow, and start over with a new world, you guys would help, right? "Of course." BlazingFlair replied. "I'm not sure how we would start that." He thought for a second and then went to another subject. "SpinningNote said he is almost done with his armor, He'd like you to see." CharmingRhythm nodded at the orange pony.
