Linkin Pony- Recharge

by Kaciekk

Part 12

A piece of trash was kicked around by hooves. It jumped over in the hall. HyperBlitz kept kicking it. Then, when he kicked it too far, it came back. He looked up and saw BlazingFlair.
HyperBlitz kicked it again. Then Blazing. Hyper gave him a long stare. Then he hit it with more force. Still, BlazingFlair shot it back at him.
"Is this one of those games where we are on the same team but against each other at the same time?" Hyper said, throwing it back.
"I think so." Blazing told him. Then he kicked the ball of trash again. This time it went over Hyperblitz into the back of the hall.
"I'm not getting that." HyperBlitz said, then kept walking forward.
"Don't litter!!!" Blazing yelled out.
Did it matter? They were just playing. All of them tried to have fun when they could. They all wanted a good laugh like they use too. But not CharmingRhythm. He wanted to have fun, but he couldn't show it. There was something that stopped him.
"Hybrid's are become more of a problem then before." CharmingRhythm told SpinningNote.
"I think they just want to be jerks. They do a pretty good job." Spinning joshed. "Maybe we should learn to fight better to fend them off."
"Maybe."
"I was joking...." Spinning said.
"But that would be good. We need to fight them, fight for ourselves, and other ponies." CharmingRhythm said. "Then I can do what i planed to do."
"What's that?"
"I wanted to recharge the cities and building. So ponies can live better. I'd use the pure energy." Rhythm explained
"Why haven't you told us that before?" SpinningNote asked.
"I don't know....." Rhythm admitted. "That's my plan.... I thought I discussed it with somepony."
"Maybe in your dream." Spinning laughed.
"But learning more about fighting would be good. Spinning, get the others and tell them to come to the meeting room."
"Uhg... alright." SpinningNote dipped his head and headed out the other way.
CharmingRhythm sat at the table at stared off into the distance. He thought about the hybrids. They have destroyed so much. They have killed so many. They were pretty lucky to be all alive.
A few minutes later, the other ponies came in.
"What do you need?" BlazingFlair asked.
"We need to learn how to fight." Rhythm said.
EchoBeat and FeatherTune exchanged glances. They both weren't ponies that usually fought. Then they looked at CharmingRhythm, worried.
"I know you guys don't like that, but we need to defend ourselves, and other ponies!" CharmingRhythm explained.
"I bet I can fight." HyperBlitz said cocky.
Rhythm shook his head. "We need to be serious."
"Maybe you're too serious." SpinningNote argued.
"Would you guys listen!" Rhythm said in a raised voice and slammed his hoof down. "If you guys aren't serious, then fine! I'll do this by myself!"
"Rhythm, calm down You're usually more well tempered then this." Blazing replied."We can do this you know."
"Shouldn't we find a pony who knows about fighting?" FeatherNote said. CharmingRhythm paced the ground.
"We need to think of what will happen next. An attack from a unicorn can be spotted when they bend down, they use their magic. Pegasi, well usually when they get off the ground. Earth-ponies, they mainly charge." Rhythm said.
"But these are still hybrids." EchoBeat said.
"The same principle applies. Focus is the key. And find the weak part of the enemy." CharmingRhythm told them.
"So a part that is not armored?" HyperBlitz said.
"Yes... I guess, but we should have armor too." Rhythm looked down at his leg.
"But isn't the weakness of the hybrids pure energy?" SpinningNote asked.
"Yes, but you all need to know how to use it in fighting! I've seen Hyper use it, I know how to, but we all need to."
"There's some in my leg, right?" FeatherTune lifted his back leg.
"Yes, so maybe you could kick?" CharmingRhythm thought. " But just knowing basics will help. And what kind of pony you are against the enemy." He turned to BlazingFlair "I know you're strong, I bet you can hurt a hybrid."
Blazing nodded. "Well, I this all we are doing, it talking?"
"What else can we do? Later we can talk with other ponies." Rhythm replied. Then he stopped pacing.
"We should get any army!" HyperBlitz jumped up. "Lots of ponies together is better! And like you said, if they know the basics, they can win!"
"An army of ponies? Being in large numbers is better. But a larger number means it's easier to lose somepony. " CharmingRhythm retroted.
"How? Isn't being alone mean you have a greater chance of dying." Hyper told him.
"But the hybrids can see a bigger group easier, and they will have there own army." Rhythm looked out past them, into empty space. He took a deep breath and gave out a melody.

"Like an army, falling
One by one by one
Like an army, falling
One by one by one"

Then HyperBlitz followed along with him, and the others murmured in too.

"Like an army, falling
One by one by one
Like an army, falling
One by one by one"

How was a simple song something that related to a situation? How did it give of such a powerful message? It can only be told In the Remains of the world.
