Pinkie's Surprise Surprise

Pinkie's Surprise Surprise

The wind blew softly through Pinkie Pie's mane as she bounded down the street. Today was going to be a good day - well almost everyday was a good day, but this day in particular would be very good indeed. Pinkie could just tell, and she was usually right about these things. The way the air moved, the few clouds that hung in the otherwise clear day... It felt like the day she had first met her best friend Twilight. Ah, but who could top that! She smiled and waved as she passed Lyra and Bon Bon who were at they're usual table outside of Sugarcube corner. Pinkie loved walking past the bakery - sure she lived in the apartment on top, but one can only appreciate the smell of baked goods when they pass by. Otherwise your nose gets used to the scent. She closed her eyes and drew in a deep breath, hoping to figure out what was being baked today. But instead of the warm scent of pies, cupcakes, muffins, bread, or even the occasional smell of burn, her nose was greeted by something else. Pinkie sneezed hard as a pegasi's shed feather pressed to her nose. She looked down at the feather as it gracefully fell to the ground.
''A white feather? I wonder who this is for.'' Pinkie thought to herself. ''Rainbow Dash... no, she's blue. Rarity was white, but didn't have wings...except that one time. Fluttershy is yellow, Derpy is gray......'' Pinkie mentally ran through almost her entire mental list of the ponies of Ponyville before a soft gust of wind passed over her, a white pegasi with yellow mane and tail landing a couple feet away. Pinkie watched as the pegasi turned to face her, the mare shaking out her mane, which returned to its natural puffy shape. A mile wide grin crept across Pinkies face as she realized she never met this pony before.
Both mares stared at one another with grins pasted on their faces until they both jumped up and gasped in unison. ''oh my gosh oh my gosh, I never met you before you must be (I am) new in town!'' They both paused for a moment again before laughing.
Pinkie broke the laughter first: ''Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie! Its my job to greet every pony, be their friend, and throw parties! I also mostly bake here in the Corner. So who are you, are you moving here?'' Pinkie finally stopped, having to breath back in as she smiled, batting her eyes and hoping for a response.
The pegasi smiled and bounced on her hooves a little, wings flexing out. '' Its so great to meet you Pinkie, as for me I am,'' she hopped into the air and did a little dance as she hovered and spoke, ''Surprise Surprise, Surprise Surprise!'' She snickered and landed back on her hooves, ''Just Surprise really, but its way more fun to say it like that. I'm only here for a month or two - I'm from Cloudsdale and am going to help train the new ponies on the weather team here. Oh hey, your cutie mark is balloons, mine is balloons too look!'' Surprise turned to show of her cutie mark: almost just like Pinkie's but purple, like Surprise's eyes.
Pinkie vibrated in excitement and ooo'd at the cutie mark ''So awesome, Surprise is a great name.''
Surprise giggled and nodded. ''Its not my real name, but everyone calls me that. My dad gave it to me cause I was his biggest little surprise.'' She shrugged a little and smiled. ''I would love to stay and talk more with you but I have to find Rainbow Dash; you said you work at the bakery? I can come meet you there later.''
Pinkie went wide eyed and nodded quickly. ''Work and I even live in the apartment on top! It's great, I'm hardly ever late for work. Cant wait to see you again, I'll let Rainbow know your looking for her if I see her.''
Surprise smiled and hopped into the air, waving before darting off to the clouds.
''Wow this will be almost as great as when I met Twilight... but nothing can top that.'' Pinkie giggled and looked down to the feather that was still at her hooves.... Surprise might want it back, so she picked it up and started for the bakery.

''Hiya Pinkie Pie, whats up?'' Rainbow Dash said, leaning against the counter inside the bakery and idly looking at the various cupcakes set on display.
Pinkie giggled and set the feather on a table top before rushing up. ''Hey Rainbow did you see, ''she jumped into the air, trying to mimic her new friend, ''Surprise sur....'' before she could finish, she fell back to the ground - the dance was going to be hard to get right with out wings...
Rainbow Dash arched an eyebrow ''Umm okay.... what surprise, I hope it wont take long. I'm supposed to be meeting a pony from Cloudsdale later."
Pinkie giggled and waved her hoof ''Not 'A' surprise, Surprise, I bet that''s who you're meeting.''
Rainbow tapped her chin with a hoof ''Surprise... Surprise, I know that name.''
''That's exactly how she said it, she is white... yellow mane, really purple eyes and her cutie mark is like mine, only purple.
Rainbow Dash groaned and pressed her hoof to her face ''Oh great, That Surprise, that's who Cloudsdale sent, this is going to be a disaster.''
Pinkie tilted her head ''You know Surprise? What is she like, she's awesome fun isn't she!''
Rainbow rolled her eyes and shrugged, ''Something like that - she was in the class under me. She didn't do very well, from what I understand. She was always wondering off, playing pranks, fidgeting, and making noise... come to think of it, you and her will probably make great friends.''
Pinkie held her smile and let the comment pass. ''Oh hey Dashy, Surprise forgot one of her feathers when she went looking for you, can you get it back to her for me'''
Rainbow giggled and shook her head. ''I don''t think she needs it Pinkie, pegasi shed feathers all the time. If she flew off, then its just an old feather. You should hang on to it, I heard horse feathers are good luck.'' Rainbow started for the door, rearing back.
''Wait, what if Surprise needs the extra luck!''
''Um Pinkie, shes a pegasi, she has plenty enough feathers for luck if she needs it... I just wish I had more, cause I'm gonna need it.'' With that Rainbow Dash took off, sending a small cloud of dust billowing into the bakery. Pinkie shook her head softly and giggled, grabbing a broom to sweep up the dust, humming a small song to herself as she worked.

Surprise flew towards the center of town, looking along the streets, treetops, and clouds for Rainbow Dash. Near a large tree, she spotted a purple unicorn laying in the grass reading. Surprise shrugged and flew down, hoping the mare might know where to find Rainbow. She landed softly in front of the book and leaned down, smiling brightly.
Twilight eeped and hopped back starring at the pegasi ''P...pinkie' Did you bleach yourself again... and how did you get wings'''
Surprise laughed and waved her hoof dismissively ''I'm not Pinkie, I'm Surprise.''
''Well you certainly surprised me, you could pass for Pinkie's doppelganger.'' Twilight giggled softly.
''Doppelwhatsa?''
''Doppelganger... it's a pony who looks like you but normally is evil''
''Ahh.... but I'm not evil... I think.... at least I hope I'm not evil, cause that's never fun.'' Surprise lowered her ears, mind grinding away in internal conflict.
''That's not what I meant, I'm pretty sure your not evil. Anyway what brings you to our library? I don't think I've seen you before, are you from Ponyville?'' Twilight chuckled softly, hoping not to have upset the pegasi too much.
Surprise snapped from her sullen state and smiled. ''Nope, I'm new here, I only met like two ponies, Pinkie and now you. I'm from Cloudsdale. Its great to meet you though Miss um... unicorn.''
Twilight cringed a little - she was always forgetting to introduce herself, ''Sorry, I am Twilight Sparkle and I run the library here. I'm sure you got the 'formal' greeting from Pinkie - don't worry though, most everypony else is much more laid back than she is.''
Surprise tilted her head ''Pinkie Pie was awesome, but we didn't get to talk long, I had to fly. Hey have you seen Rainbow Dash around? I'm supposed to meet her like an hour ago, but cant find her anywhere.''
Twilight hummed and tapped her chin softly ''No I haven't seen her lately, but there's a new spell I've been meaning to try, lets see if it works.'' Twilight closed her eyes and strained a little, horn starting to glow. In a bright flash of purple magic, Rainbow Dash appeared, still speeding off, dazed from the teleportation and rammed hard into Surprise, sending both mares tumbling. ''Oh how interesting, momentum is retained, I'll have to make a note of that.... Oh! are you girls alright'''
Rainbow Dash quickly stood and looked around to make sure she was all still there. ''What the hay, I was just flying past town hall and now I'm at the library..... TWILIGHT!''
Surprise laid there cross eyed for a moment before looking up to Rainbow, gasping loudly. ''Wait, you're the Rainbow Dash I'm supposed to meet'''
Rainbow grinned and nodded. ''The one and only!''
''What was it everyone called you in school... Rainbow Crash was it? I thought you would have ended up in Manehatten or Canterlot. What are you doing in a small town like this?''
Rainbow twitched and narrowed her eyes. ''Please, its Dash, not crash... and this town is pretty cool, it gives me plenty of time to practice my awesome moves, and besides, most of my friends live here.''
Surprise smiled and nodded. ''Great, its good to see you again, we have a lot to catch up on, but first: let's get the rest of your weather team. We're really behind today.''
Rainbow tilted her head, jaw falling a little. ''Your Surprise Surprise right, the crazy party pony from Cloudsdale?''
Surprise hopped into the air and did her little dance again, ''Surprise Surprise, Surprise Surprise! There can be only one me.''
Rainbow nodded slowly. ''Uhh yeah, it's you. Sorry I asked...''
''Don't worry about it, Dash. Now let's go!'' Surprise giggled and started off, Rainbow Dash quickly catching up.
Twilight rubbed her forehead and sighed. ''Well, so much for studying for a while.'' She levitated her book and brought it with her into the library.
Pinkie was carefully cleaning the display case as the sun started setting over the horizon. She looked over at the large cake she had saved for her new friend and sighed softly. Surprise must have gotten too busy with Rainbow Dash, but there was always tomorrow... She gathered the few hastily thrown together decorations and started saving them when a hoof tapped at the door.
''Sorry, we're closed for the evening, but if you come back tomorrow, we're having a sale on cupcakes.'' She turned towards the door, seeing a familiar white pegasi standing at the door.
''Oh um, I'm sorry, I'll see you tomorrow.'' Surprise turned and started away. A second later, the door burst open, all the decorations having been thrown back into place.
''Surprise!... umm cause it's a surprise party... and your Surprise...'' Pinkie panted softly and smiled. ''The door is always open for friends!''
Surprise smiled and turned, hugging the pink pony tightly. ''So cool! Oh, what about friends of friends? I met all sorts of other cool ponies today, and they are all friends with each other too! Isn't that great?''
Pinkie smiled and nodded. ''Any friend of yours is a friend of mine! Who did you meet?''
Rainbow Dash stepped from behind Surprise and chuckled. ''I'll give you four guesses, Pinkie.''
Pinkie giggled and welcomed everyone inside. Everything was going perfectly - she had known today was going to be a wonderful day! Pinkie looked around at the party and realized that nopony was talking to her; all her friends were busy talking to Surprise. Rainbow was catching up on old times, and the rest were listening to the stories. Pinkie shrugged and wondered to the cake, pulling it closer to the group. ''Oh hey Apple Jack, what are you doing tomorrow?''
Apple Jack smiled and looked over. ''Oh hiya Pinkie; tomorrow me and Big Mac are starting to prepare barrels for cider season, then Surprise said she would help clear out the loft of the old barn.'' She looked to Surprise and smiled. ''And that's mighty nice of you to offer; usually RD helps with that, but she'll be busy with the weather rollin in.''
Pinkie pinned her ears back and smiled softly. ''Oh okay, that's okay... what about you, Rainbow?''
Rainbow chuckled and shook her head. ''Sorry Pink, me and Surprise are still working on the weather team tomorrow morning, then like AJ said, there's a storm scheduled for tomorrow night, so we have to get ready for that.''
Pinkie blushed a little ''Oh yeah, right, that's okay. Hey Twilight?''
Twilight shook her head. ''Sorry Pinkie Pie, the weather ponies wanted me to try and help make the extra clouds they need to practice. I think I found a good spell for generating them quickly.''
Pinkie sighed softly and smiled. ''Rarity, Fluttershy? Are you guys busy?''
Fluttershy nodded softly. ''Oh, um, yes I'm afraid... I always help the little animals find safe places for the storm - that might take all day. You can help if you want, but you can't bounce around as much as last time.''
Rarity shook out her mane and smiled. ''I am sorry dear, but I took off today for Surprise's little party. I will have to catch up with work tomorrow, I am terribly behind with my latest line.''
Pinkie looked down and nodded, turning back up with her usual smile. ''Oh well, I'll just find something else fun to do. I'm glad you guys are all liking Surprise so much.''
Surprise giggled and stuck her tongue out playfully. ''What's not to like? From what your friends told me, you and I aren't so different.''
Pinkie raised an eyebrow, but shrugged it off and giggled. ''Silly, there can only be one Pinkie Pie.'' Her eyes went wide. ''Equestria would collapse if there were two of me!''
Twilight pressed her hoof to her face. ''But there was two of you - actually like ten or more.'' She shuddered at the thought.
Pinkie blushed deeply and looked up to the ceiling. ''I said I was sorry.''
Surprise leaned in close to Pinkie and smiled brightly. ''You so have to tell me about that!''
Pinkie shook her head quickly. ''It really wasn't anything fun... well, it was at first, but then it got crazy.'' She darted her eyes around and added. ''Who wants cake!''
Everypony happily took Pinkie on the offer and soon the party was winding down. Even Pinkie was getting tired. As Pinkie's friends slowly excused themselves and wondered for the door, Pinkie found herself left with Surprise.
Surprise smiled and stepped over. ''Hey Pinkie, thank you so much for the little party! I really like your friends, they seem so nice. Everypony I met today seems nice, I can see why Rainbow Dash decided to live here.''
Pinkie smiled warmly and nodded. ''Oh no no, I love throwing parties, and its your first day here so you had to have a party! And just wait until the next one, I had to work today so I couldn't do a proper one for you - I'll make it up though.''
Surprise giggled and poked Pinkie's nose softly. ''Don't worry about it Pinkie; if , I owe you! I'll see you around, okay? Until then, stay fun!'' With that Surprise took off, leaving Pinkie alone... again.
Pinkie looked up to the sky and sighed with a soft smile. ''It's good she's making friends, even if it's my friends. There's plenty enough friendship to go around.''With that, she locked the store up and trotted off to her room, yawning deeply.

Pinkie looked around, seeing a soft haze, pink clouds, a giant building... this was going to be the BEST day ever! She slowly trotted along the street, waving to all the strangely shaped ponies, soon starting to bounce. ''Twilight had better not mess up this awesomeness again like with the chocolate rain.'' she thought to herself, giggling at the idea.
She made it all the way down to where the city hall should be, but instead she found all her friends standing in a circle talking to somepony. Pinkie tilted her head and quickly trotted over to see what the fuss was about and saw Surprise, though much larger. Pinkie took a small step back and swallowed. ''Oh um, Surprise, what are you doing? Isn't today super awesome?''
Surprise didn't respond... instead, she started walking closer, Pinkie's friends stepping aside and watching.
''Hey um, Surprise? Are you okay? You got all bigger, and um... angry like.''
Surprise chuckled darkly and kept coming closer, grinning. ''Oh Pinkie dear, you were absolutely right. There is only room for one Pinkie Pie... shame for you really.'' Surprise grinned and stood tall, her coat slowly turning pink, mane and tail doing similar. Pinkie felt herself drain as the color drained from her coat, eventually leaving her bleach white, her hair now shaded a dim yellow.
''Wha, what are you doing? That's my color, give it back!'' Pinkie shivered and was nearly in tears - she couldn't be Pinkie if she wasn't pink.
Surprise laughed maniacally, looking down on Pinkie with now deep blue eyes. ''Oh, you'll get used to it. First I took your friends, and now your color. Next, I will send you away to Cloudsdale - hope you learn how to fly!''
Pinkie shot up in her bed, light pouring in from the window. She stared at the wall for a while and shivered, then shook her head. ''Wow, what a crazy dream, I can't wait to tell Twilight about...'' She stopped mid sentence and looked down at her covers. Twilight was busy helping Rainbow and Surprise today... her dream would have to wait. It wasn't very important anyway. Pinkie looked around her room and sighed. It was one of the best places in Ponyville as it was hers. Actually, it belonged to the Cakes, but she payed rent and all the furniture and stuff in it was hers, so that was close enough.
Pinkie slowly slipped from her sheets and looked in the mirror, taking a moment to fluff her mane and tail to their rightful messiness as she giggled ''Yep, still Pink, so today will be a great day.'' She walked to the window and smiled, the warm sun greeting her face. It was another beautiful day in Ponyville - only a few sparse clouds, but clouds looked like cotton so they were okay. Pinkie stepped back from the window and headed down the stairs. The Cakes were running about filling a large catering order for.. somepony. Pinkie had forgotten to ask and did not want to bother them now. She started for the front door and sighed happily. Even with out her friends, nothing would ruin this day.
''Hey Lyra, did you get to see that new pegasus in town? She's a little... bouncy isn't she?'' Bon Bon smiled, her and Lyra at they're usual table once again, right on schedule.
''Oh, I don't know Bon... she seems alright to me. Friendly enough at least. You give every pony too hard a time when they first move in.''
Bon Bon shrugged and smiled. ''I suppose. I hope the weather team takes it easy on us this storm, I really don't want to have to have my roof fixed.... again.'' She looked up and smiled as Pinkie passed. ''Oh, good morning, Ms. Pie.''
Pinkie grinned at the thought of somepony not liking Surprise... then shook her head. That's not right, Surprise is her newest friend, and everypony needs to be liked. She never heard Bon Bon over her internal monologue and passed the pair by on her way downtown.
Pinkie looked quickly through the shops as she continued her pass around town, but suddenly noticed something wrong... it was getting dark, and quite fast. She looked up to the sky just in time to see thick clouds swallow the sun! It wasn't even noon yet, no where near time for the storm scheduled for that evening. Twilight's spell, it must have gone wrong, but it sure seemed to work. Pinkie shook her head and sighed... maybe today was just going to be an okay day, but those were important too. They make the great days seem better. Pinkie smiled and looked up, her nose quickly greeted by the first drops of rain. Her ears drooped as rain quickly started to fall from the heavens. Ponies scattered from the market, leaving Pinkie standing in the rain still starring up at the sky, her mane losing its shape from the water. ''Okay, well bad days are important too.... I suppose. This is not going to be a good day.'' She sighed and looked down at her hooves, slowly making her way home through the rain.

Several days passed, leaving Pinkie with little contact from her friends, strange dreams, and blotched weather from Twilight and the rookie weather pegasi. Pinkie Pie laid in bed, starring up at the ceiling, sighing softly. It had been almost a week since Surprise had arrived, and almost a week since Pinkie had any real time with her friends. Surprise had been by several times, but only for a few minutes. Training pegasi must be really hard, as she always seemed tired. Pinkie stared until the texture of the ceiling seemed to move, causing her to blink and snap from her daze. ''Okay Pinkie, no matter what, today is going to be a good day. There's no way it could go wrong as its baking day!'' she giggled: once a month she threw a party at the local hospital for the foals, and she always did most of the baking, so she would stay busy.
Pinkie shook her mane out and trotted down the stairs, whistling softly. She made it to the kitchen and was quickly bumped by Mrs Cake. ''Oh, I'm sorry dear, I didn't see you there. You're in a good mood though, I see!''
Pinkie smiled and nodded. ''Today is baking day for the hospital, and Surprise is supposed to meet me there to help with the party. Won't that be super?''
Mrs Cake swallowed. ''Today is baking day? Oh dear, I had an order... well no, it's a small one, I don't think we will get in each others way... I'm sorry I forgot about your day.''
Pinkie's eyes twitched a little and she stared blankly ahead. ''Okie dokie lokie...'' She shook her head a little and put her smile back on. ''There's plenty enough room for both of us anyway.''
Before long, the two ponies were baking up a storm, only running into each other a few times. Pinkie had made several cakes, muffins and other treats, but the crowning achievement of the day was going to be cupcakes. Not just any cupcakes: it was her own special recipe, mostly extra sugar but still, it was her recipe. Pinkie had found a way not only to hold her monthly hospital party but to also make up for having so little time for her newest friend. Pinkie smiled as she put the last of the bright yellow icing on the white cupcakes. She looked at them a moment before dotting each one with two purple candies and drew three tiny balloons on each one. She took a moment to admire her handy work and nodded; Surprise would be surprised for sure!
Pinkie continued giggling as she stepped up to the counter, starting to set the cupcakes in a large box,. Her eyes turned to the window, seeing Lyra and Bon Bon as always, but then another pony walked up.... Surprise! Pinkie quickly moved the box to hide the cupcakes and stepped over to the window curiously.
''Oh hey girls, are you two busy this afternoon?''Surprise said with a smile, looking over her shoulder quickly, unable to see Pinkie from the glare in the window.
Lyra smiled and shook her head, looking to Bon Bon softly. ''No, we are free. What's up?''
Surprise smiled brightly and handed both ponies a small letter. ''Perfect, we're having a party right here at Sugarcube Corner! I'm trying to get as many ponies as I can, it's going to be so awesome.''
Lyra and Bon Bon opened the letters. Pinkie leaned in to try and read them, but the print was too small.
Bon Bon giggled. ''Oh cool, I bet that is going to be a riot! You can definitely count us in, right Lyra?''
Lyra giggled and nodded back. ''Oh totally, I wouldn't miss this for anything.''
Surprise hopped excitedly. ''Oh, but you guys can't tell Pinkie Pie, or it'll ruin everything, okay?'' She giggled and took off, leaving the two mares to finish they're pastries.
Pinkie felt like she had taken a knife to her heart... she had heard everything. Surprise really was stealing her friends, and customers at that. She felt something snap in her, mane and tail deflating, falling straight down to her hooves. She slowly shuffled to the counter, a tear falling from her cheek. Then she saw the cupcakes, the bright yellow icing, purple eyes, HER cutie mark, but in purple. She narrowed her eyes, glaring at the small treats. She turned her head and looked to her spatula. ''So, she thinks she can just take my friends away, make the weather horrible, steal my color, AND not invite me to an awesome party?!'' Pinkie chuckled oddly, pupils turning to pinpoints as she raised her hoof, eyes locking on a defenseless cupcake. ''No one messes with the Pink...ie Pie!'' She slammed her hoof down on the cupcake, sending icing splattering over her coat and face. Pinkie stared at the smashed cupcake as tears started falling freely from her eyes... she didn't mean to hurt the baked good... after all, it had done her no harm. She really didn't even want to hurt Surprise, but Pinkie... Pinkie was hurt.
Mrs Cake trotted over, ears splaying at the change in Pinkie's mane and posture. ''Oh um, Pinkie dear, have you seen my spatula? I think you had it last.''
Pinkie never took her eyes from the cupcake as she slowly lifted her icing stained hoof, grabbing the spatula and holding it out for Mrs Cake.
''Oh um, thank you dear, you have a little... icing on your hoof and in your hair.'' She chuckled nervously. She had seen Pinkie like this before and knew it best to let her be until she had calmed down a little. Mrs Cake gently took the spatula and trotted back to the kitchen, quickly loosing herself to her work as she worked on both her order and what was left of Pinkie's hospital party fare.
Pinkie stayed staring out the window, even as Lyra passed the door and waved. Pinkie just stood and stared, mind running through the week and how she would miss her friends now that Surprise had stolen them. After a long while she shook her head, snorting deeply. ''I don't need them anyway, isn't that right, Mr Spatula?'' She looked down to where she had sat the spatula and grumbled... another friend lost... to Surprise, no doubt.
Pinkie started to the kitchen, several spasms running through her body. She shook them off, brushing her now straight mane from her face. She looked at the clock: it was time for her to head to the hospital. Though she no longer really felt up to a party. She gathered the boxes, leaving the remaining Surprise cupcakes on the counter and started on her path.
Pinkie started walking straight out of the door, through a field of tulips, right on the edge of the stream and down the clearing to the town park, never getting near the hospital. After several minutes of walking, she stopped, a grin cracking across her face as she set the boxes down, gathering small piles of rocks, sticks and dirt and arranged them around, having her own little party in the open field as clouds began to gather in the sky.

Surprise grinned as ponies gathered in the bakery. Everything was going just as she had hopped, and it seemed she had pulled of the impossible: throwing Pinkie a surprise party with out her snooping about. She nodded happily to herself as Twilight walked over.
''Hey Surprise.... it was a great idea setting the party up while Pinkie was busy at the hospital, she will be so happy with all of this.'' Twilight giggled and admired all the decorations.
Surprise's eyes shot wide open, wings darting up ''Oh Celestia, I totally forgot about the hospital! I promised Pinkie I would help with the party there, but I got so busy. Twilight, make sure everything is ready for when Pinkie and I get back, okay?'' She ran for the door, sliding to a halt as the door was bucked open. Pinkie stood in the doorway, tears filling her crazed eyes.
''Surprise!'' She growled, taking a step in. Surprise quickly back peddled, bumping a cake set on the table and smearing its pink icing along her side. ''Why are you taking all my friends from me... and now you're in my house and and and...'' Her eyes locked onto the pink stain on the pegasi's coat, then fell down to the yellow icing that still stained her own. ''Oh no, now you're stealing my color too! What did I ever do to you?!''
Surprise tilted her head and looked at her side, reaching a hoof to rub some of the icing off. ''Pinkie, I'm not stealing friends from you, and look, I'm not stealing your color: its frosting from the cake. You said you liked parties, so I threw you one! Just look around.''
Pinkie furrowed her brow and glared hard at her pegasi counterpart, but only for a moment. The pink icing drawing her attention, then the pink cake, pink decorations, all her friends standing and looking very concerned for her. This was not how a pony stole another's color... not that Pinkie knew how that would work anyway. And mean ponies certainly never offered pink icing to you. She started to chuckle weakly, leaning down to lick the icing from Surprise's hoof. Then she broke into deep happy laughter, her mane curling back into its normal tangled mess! Now all Pinkie needed was an excuse.
Surprise pulled her hoof back after it was licked and cringed a little. ''Hey Pinkie, your friends all said you loved pranks... that had to have been the best laid one I have ever seen. You nearly scared my tail off just now.'' She giggled and rushed to hug Pinkie, whispering softly. ''That was a prank right?''
Pinkie nodded and returned the hug. ''Pfff, of course it was a prank! You know me, Pinkie ''Prankster'' Pie! Now let's get this party started!'' She sighed internally, tilting her head as Surprise pressed her hoof to Pinkie's nose.
''Oh, but we can't get started yet. I'm Surprise and this was a surprise party. There's one thing we missed.''
Pinkie giggled and bounced excitedly. ''Oh? What was it, tell me tell me!''
''Surprise!!!''
