It was reasonably early in the morning at about 10:00AM, I woke up to find that Twilight wasn't in her bed "Twilight?" I questioned, but to my avail I heard a voice say "I'm down here!" Ah there she is, I headed downstairs to see what was going on, and to my surprise there were pancakes on the table, then I realize this must be breakfast "Twilight, you didn't have to do this you know." Twilight smiled and looked at me "I thought I'd be kind." we both sat down together and ate our pancakes relatively slow as we didn't need to be anywhere.
As we both finished our pancakes I still had the problem of finding a job, I asked Twilight last night and she said she needed help with a spell, so I brought it up "Hey, Twilight you said you needed help with a spell?" Twilight tapped her chin "Ah, yes I need someone to help me calculate the spells inscriptions so I can make it." That doesn't sound hard.
We headed downstairs to the basement, I told Twilight to not touch what was under the cloths as that's where my armor was and I didn't want her knowing about it yet, Twilight led me to a spot surrounded by magenta colored candles "What now?" she turned to me and said "We need to set out a rune for the spell to absorb magic to create it." okay this should be fun
After setting out the rune Twilight put a piece of paper in the center and cast a spell on it that made the rune and paper glow in her magic "I just have...to...keep...this up....I can't do it!" Wait what? "Every spell I've made works, but this one won't let me tap into it!" Twilight sounded really angry "Um Twilight, are you okay?" She looked at me and said "Okay? Okay!? my special talent is magic and I can't even create a simple spell!!!" Her mane and tail burst into flames and her color turned from lavender to white-hot "What th-" was all I got to say before a blast of fire exploded around us both, I shielded my eyes and hoped I didn't burn to death, after a few seconds I opened my eyes and saw that Twilight was now back to her original self, smoke emitting from her mane and coat "I'm sorry!! I couldn't control myself!!" I heard a burning sound, I looked to see Twilight curled up on the floor crying "Twilight, are you okay?" she continued to stare at the ground and said "I'm sorry..I didn't mean to do that!" I know she didn't but I needed to know what that was "Twilight, It's okay." she looked at my hooves.
"You mean, you forgive me?" I put a hoof on her shoulder, I could still hear a burning sound "Yes, can you tell me what just happened?" she looked up and gasped "W-what's happened to your mane and coat!?" Wait what? I walked up to a mirror that was in the corner of the room and saw that my mane and tail were composed of fire, my coat, wings and horn had a similar effect as flames were traveling around them and my cutie mark was glowing "What the hell!?" I rubbed my eyes and looked back at the mirror and saw that the flames were real "Okay that's strange." I thought blankly and looked back at the mirror, I cleared my thoughts and the flames on my coat and mane died out and returned to normal.
"What the?" I walked up to one of the candles and dipped my hoof in the flame, as I brought it out I was holding the candles magenta colored flame and my coat and mane had set alight in the same color, I let go of the flame and it dissipated into thin air, returning my mane and coat to the original deep crimson mane and black glossy coat "That's weird." I looked at Twilight and saw her jaw nearly touching the floor.
"Um, has anything like this ever happened before?" Twilight closed her jaw and shook her head "No, I've never seen anypony do anything like that, not even princess Celestia can do that!" this day just get's stranger and stranger, anyhow back to the spell "Let me see if I can help." I funneled my magic into the rune, strangely it felt as if the spell was alive and had accepted me and allowed me to bend it to my will, I saw a bunch of symbols float through my vision, when they vanished the rune had gone and the paper was on the ground.
Picking up the piece of paper, I saw that it had the same symbols that I had seen next to the rune we used "I think I did it but I'm not sure, you want to have a look?" she nodded and walked over "How did you manage to do this so fast?" I knew she would ask "Well I don't really know much, only that I spent about 5 years studying the art of runes, which is probably why I know so much about magic, runes and inscriptions that are involved in spell creations and books." Twilight smiled "Good to finally meet somepony who can understand basic and even the most advance parameters of magic and not call me an 'Egghead'."
"Why would ponies call you that?" Twilight looked at me and sighed "Some ponies don't really like the fact of being smart." That's a reasonable answer "Hey, do you know anypony who I can work for?" Twilight raised a hoof to her chin then brought it back down "Applejack said she needed some help down at her orchard, I think you should go and see her." alright then "Okay can you point me in the direction?" Twilight nodded and pointed out the window to a barn "That's the apple farm, Applejack and her family run it." I nodded and walked to the door and said goodbye to both Twilight and Spike.
It was bright and sunny outside and there were ponies milling about the town doing their own things, I was then had the wind knocked out of me and was forced down on the floor by what felt like a ton of bricks in the chest "AHH!" I got up and looked up to see what it was that had hit me, turns out it was a Pegasus with a cyan coat and rainbow mane, she looked at me and said "Oops my bad, didn't see you there, come to think of it I haven't seen you at all." neither have I seen you "Name's Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer in all of Equestria!" well no point in being rude "Yeah, sorry I kind of don't have a name yet, don't ask." she laughed but stopped when I frowned at her "Anyway sorry for bumping into you like that but I've gotta' go." With that she flew off further into Ponyville.
"Well that was interesting." I continued to trek down to the farm, I decided this was the best time to test my wings so I hovered up and flew towards the barn at a steady pace, I got bored and went higher and higher until I was up in the clouds "This is cooler than I expected." I flew faster and faster until I felt a heavy amount of G-force pushing against me, I kept going until I saw a weird cone shape forming around me, I flew at a faster pace and the cone increased so I flew faster and faster, I went back below the cloud layer until I heard a loud crack of lightning "What the heck was that?" I continued to fly but I looked behind me to see a huge line of red electricity sparking in a huge line from my mane and tail "WHOA!" I shouted as I flew at an insane speed towards the farm.
I came to an instant stop on the farm and looked at the fading trail of lightning and my sparking tail return to normal "That.was.awesome!" I walked around to look for Applejack but couldn't see her anywhere, I continued to the barn and knocked "Anyone here?" I opened the door and walked inside, my eyes adjusted to the darkness so I could see the barn's interior clearly, I then felt some rope tie around my legs and tripped me up "You ought' not to be trespassin' pardner." I looked around to see an orange mare circling me "Sorry, didn't mean to be trespassing, but I'm looking for a mare called Applejack." she sat down and gave me a straight look "Why are ya lookin' for me?" I returned the straight look and answered "Don't worry ma'am, I'm not looking for trouble, just work." she smiled "Well why didn't ya say so!" she untied me and shook my hoof "Name's Applejack, and this here is my family's farm." I looked around for a lantern, since she couldn't see in the dark "How in Equestria can ya see in all this dark?" I lit the lantern with my magic and smiled "No idea, but I'm guessing it has something to do with me being an Alicorn." she looked at me in the light and said "So ya are an Alicorn, ah never saw ya wings in the darkness, heck I could barely see you since ya coat's so black, ya eyes were glowin' red so that's about all I could see of ya." wait my eyes glow red in the dark? anyway back to the job.
"I was wondering if you needed any help around your farm." she brought a hoof to her chin and then lowered it "It just so happens ah do, Big mac's injured himself and I need some help gettin' the apples off the trees, I can get them down but there's a hole lot a trees in this orchard and I can't do it all on my own." I smiled "Okay I can help you with that."
Applejack led me to the orchard and I could see what she meant by a lot of trees, there were hundreds of them! all ripe with delicious looking apples "I can see what you mean, this is one impressive farm Applejack." she smiled at me as we trotted into the orchard "Why thanks mister, my family an' I worked mighty hard ta get this farm how ya see it today." when we reached the center of the orchard we stopped "All right mister, do ya know how to buck an apple tree?" I shook my head in response "Okay I'll show ya." she walked up to one of the trees "Now it's easy all ya gotta' do is bring your rear hooves up and kick real hard." she brought her back hooves up against the tree and kicked, the tree shock as all the apples fell into the buckets below "Now you try." I walked up to one of the trees and brought my rear hooves up and then kicked as hard as I could, like before all the apples fell into the buckets.
"See! ya gettin' the hang of it."
We continued to buck the apple trees until the majority of them had been harvested "That wasn't too hard, but it certainly left me tired." Applejack looked at me and smiled "Well as I always say." she brought out a leather sack of what looked like gold bits "Honest pay for honest work." I took the sack in my magic an examined it "I'm not that familiar with Equestria's currency "Well it's easy, bronze bits are worth 2 bits, silver is 5 bits and 10 for gold." I opened the sack and noticed that there were 500 gold bits in total which added up to 5,000 bits "This is a lot of money Applejack, are you sure about this?" she nodded and said "I'm always honest to everypony and I'm sure about it, take it after all, you've earned it."
As I said goodbye I trotted into town there were ponies still milling about their business as usual, I remembered the items I needed for the suit's paint and electronics, I needed wiring which could be made from copper, plastic for the circuit panel which could be found in a store and black paint for the suit.
I headed into what looked like the town's general store, I walked up to the counter and asked "Hey I don't suppose you have any of these items would you?" I showed the mare at the counter my list, she nodded and walked into the back room for a few seconds before coming out with what I needed "That will be 100 bits please." I brought out the sack Applejack gave me and took out the bits I needed and put them on the counter "Thanks." I then tied the stuff on my back with magic restraints and began walking back to Twilight's house.
A/N: I'll be testing a new P.O.V (Point.Of.View) technique such as; Twilight's P.O.V andMy P.O.V in the next chapter after the next one, just to make it a more in-depth understanding.
