A static wave jumped through the air. Mechanical energy rumbled in the ground. Clopping of hooves stopped, and looking over the once live world, was a lone Pegasus.
Its wings spread out, the right wing clanking against itself. A metal wing, to replace one that was lost. Most ponies now had mechanical body parts, since it was so easy to loose them. But this Pegasus' wing was charged by a different energy, not the kind that will control his mind.
Most of the mechanical technology created now has reversed itself. Instead of the body's nerves controlling it, the technology controls the nerves.
This Pegasus, with his friends, found pure energy beneath the earth, that will not do this. Now, all of the world's natural resources were gone, all they had left was electricity... and the energy of the world.
Steadily folding both wings down, he watched the silent city. Only flickering light were seen. The yellow Pegasus placed his right forehoof to the side. It was marked with blue flame tattoos that went with his Cutie Mark, a flaming music note. His talent was singing, but now that the world was dying, how could he use this talent?
"See anypony?" A gentle voice came from behind. The Pegasus turned around and saw a blue-gray Unicorn.
The Pegasus shook his head.
The Unicorn stepped forward. His half right foreleg was made out of metal. It clanked against the cold ground. "Then why are you out here?"
"Ummm...I dunno." the Pegasus replied. "There's not much to do."
"You shouldn't be out here. You could run into Hybrids." The Unicorn warned
Hybrids were the ponies that technology controlled. It was hard to reason with them, since they want to control what was left of the world.
"If any Hybrid saw me..... well they'll be the one in trouble!" The Pegasus smirked. "If we can only get more people to use the good energy that wouldn't hurt the world."
"HyperBlitz, we have tried, but we cant travel, it's too dangerous."
"I don't care! We gotta tell them!" HyperBlitz bounced.
"I know you're always up to a challenge, always getting hurt." the Unicorn bowed his head.
"CharmingRhythm, no pain will stop me from doing what I need to do."
"Yeah!" CharmingRhythm Laughed. "I remember the time you broke your hoof in a concert, but you kept on singing all the way through!"
"Ha!" Hyper's smile soon faded. " But that was before this. Maybe we should do consents again, raise ponies spirits."
"I don't know." Rhythm replied. "Lets go back to the base."
The two ponies trotted into a large building. A large computer with many buttons in the front stood to the left. There was a door way leading into a hallway strait ahead. A generator was off in the far right corner.
The two passed into another room. An orange Earth-pony was sitting at a large round table. He sipped a cup of coffee, then look over his shoulder. He sat the cup down.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Nothing really, BlazingFlair." HyperBlitz Retorted. The Pegasus clopped over to a mirror and stared into it. "Why are you always drinking coffee?"
"Because I like it." BlazingFlair placed his head close to the cup."
CharmingRhythm shook his head. Then he stepped over by Blazing.
"Hyper is acting odd..." He whispered.
Blazing paused and gazed at HyperBlitz. "He's probably tired." He told him.
"Maybe, it is late." Rhythm replied. "I hope that's all.
Just then, Hyper jumped and headed out the room. The two other ponies just watched, saying nothing.
Hyperblitz walked through the main room, pass a red-violet Unicorn. He was polishing a window. "Oh Hey Hyper!"
The Pegasus didn't reply, but kept on walking.
"You're not gonna say hi?"
"I'm going to my room, SpinningNote."
Spinning stood still and waited till he went into the hallway. "Well! That was rude!" he said in a funny accent.
Hyperblitz trotted into his bedroom. The room was dim, like most of the building. There wasn't much exciting in it, not many colors or sights. In the corner was a dresser with may things on it, that was the most interesting thing in the room. He placed his hoof on a microphone and wobbled it a bit. He glared over at a picture of all his friends. Then down at a CD case. He scanned the CD that read "Linkin Pony".
"Why am I feeling like this? I feel sad." HyperBlitz thought. "Maybe because I looked out side. I guess all you can fell about this world is sadness." He gave out a yawn. "Maybe I'll fell better in the morning. " He sat over on his bed and closed his eyes.
Little light fell into the room that morning, like most mornings. CharmingRhythm paced the floor as usually. A red Earth-Pony tapped on the computer board. He wearing mechanical goggles on his head. He studied the computer screen for a bit and went back to tapping.
"Have you seen FeatherTune lately?" Rhythm asked
"Hmm.... i don't know..... not since yesterday.... And Hyper hasn't got up yet." The red pony retorted, without turning his head.
"We should just let him rest, EchoBeat." Rhythm informed him.
"Hmm?"
Rhythm paused and noticed he wasnt really listening. "Nevermind."
"Good morning!" CharmingRhythm turned around and saw a cream colored Pegasus. He had fluffy brown hair and wide reddish-brown eyes. "Anyone see my headsets?"
CharmingRhythm shrugged.
"I have a feeling that SpinningNote took them."
"Why would he take them, FeatherTune?" EchoBeat said, still staring at the screen.
"Your eyes are going to bleed out if you don't take them off that computer." FeatherTune taunted him.
"Then why havn't they bled out already?" EchoBeat snapped back.
"Bleed it out, digging deeper, just to throw it away."
Everypony jumped and tuned around, even EchoBeat. HyperBlitz cantered into the room. They all stared at him. He stopped his pace, and looked up.
"What?"
"You just surprised us" FeatherTune said.
"Well.... why cant we have some lyrics now and then?"
