Give Love A Chance Even If You're "Fluttered" Or "Shy" About It

Chapter 1 : A New Surrounding

I find myself in the same cycle everyday. Get up, go to work, come home and sleep. It gets very lonely at times. Most of the time I wish I could just get away from it all. And with not having a girlfriend it makes it even worse. So in the spare time that I have, I've taken up nature walks. Or in other words hiking. I find all of the trees along with the animals very comforting. Just like my favorite character from my also favorite show, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Fluttershy the element of kindness and all that is good, is very much like the girlfriend I've been longing for. To bad she's a cartoon character and not the real thing. And yes, I have thought about what it would be like living in their world, or Equestria if you prefer. Your probably asking yourself how do you know all this? Well it's because of me being a brony. It's a term for a male fan of the show. After watching the episode simply known as "Hurricane Fluttershy" I new that her personality was what I was looking for in a long lasting relationship. Not only does her personality reflect who I want in a girlfriend, but shes also just like me being so shy and all. That's why it's difficult for me to find that special someone because I'm always to shy to talk to them. Besides I'm only 19 and who knows maybe I'll meet that someone when I go for that hike tomorrow.

I've been wanting to go on this hike for some time now. Mainly because I need a "reality check". Or go back to simpler times when the best part of the day was the day it self. Weather it was working or playing outside. It would always be a good time no matter what. That night I decided to set my alarm for 6AM. I wanted to be sure I had enough time to get the packing done that was vital for the trip.

**The next morning**

"Well the packing is all done. All I need to do now is get my hiking boots on and then I can be on my way!"

The hike was taking a lot longer than I anticipated. Soon I found myself drifting off of my regular path, and in to some dense shrubs. Once I got out of the thick bushes I discovered a cave that I've never noticed before. Upon closer inspection of the cave I saw many cautionary/ warning signs posted all in front of the cave. So my curiosity got the better of me and decided to do more investigating of the strange area. At one point I thought I was hearing voices, but I merely brushed it of my mind due to all of the wind that day. After about half an hour of looking around and enjoying the scenery I heard another voice. This one was different from the others though because it sounded like someone was sad or even hurt for that matter. So I started running as fast as I could to the source of the commotion. To my surprise it was coming from inside the cave. As I was looking for the distress call I noticed some kind of light pulsating in the back. The closer I got to it the more it looked like butterflies. I thought to myself "that's odd I know it's the middle of summer, but it's far to cold for these butterflies to be in this cave". But the more I stared at them the more they would glow that light I saw from earlier. For some reason it made me start to think about Fluttershy. The way her cutie mark looks is the same way the butterflies were settled on the wall. Then I started to think about how her long pink mane flows through the slightest breeze. Or even her always warm smile with a helping hoof just to reassure you that everything will be okay when times get tough. Thinking about her like that made me love her even more right there. And also made me want to be with her as well. With all that in mind (and my heart) I went for it. I reached out to touch one of them. That's when my entire body had a sensational warmth come across itself. Along with a small headache as well. Then everything went dark . . . . .

I awoke suddenly with the feeling of being watched. Looking around and breathing rather quickly I noticed off in the distance that someone or something was coming toward my location. As the object was getting closer I realized that it was. . . WHAT?! Impossible! It was Fluttershy coming towards me. So my immediate reaction was to say hello. For some reason though when I did this she got really scared and of course nervous. Apparently I could talk just like her. That's when she bolted back towards(what I was assuming Ponyville)and never looked back. I thought to myself "you big dummy! Of course she ran away from you! She's probably never even seen a human before!" After Fluttershy was long gone I decided to go to the town and introduce myself to all of the ponies living there. Little did I know about the events that would soon take place after that choice.

When I finally got to the town I found to my surprise that it was completely empty. There was not a single pony out on the streets of Ponyville. Fluttershy must have warned the others about me when she returned. Wait? What was it that she told them to make them get of the streets of Ponyville? Not wanting to find out I decided that it would be best to go to Sugarcube Corner to clear this whole miss understanding about myself. Unfortunately when I arrived at the bakery all of the ponies(including the mane 6) started to come out of their houses. As I watched them all come out I noticed that they started to form a circle around me. "Well this doesn't look promising" I told myself.

After what felt like an eternity of awkward silence I decided to introduce myself. "Um. . . hello. . . my name is Daniel McNeil". They all gasped as they realized that I could talk just like them. After I introduced myself Twilight Sparkle decided that it would be best if everypony go back into their homes. Without hesitation the rest of the town departed to their homes. This just left me, and the six ponies. After more awkward silence passed Twilight was the first to speak.

"Well Fluttershy it looks like you were right. It can talk." said Twilight

"Hey now I'm not an it. I'm actually a human."

They all gasped with their eyes wide in shock. "Uh. . . sugar cube. . . did y'all just say ur a human?" I just slowly nodded my head for a response. "But I thought that human's didn't exist in Equestria!" exclaimed Fluttershy. "That's what I thought to Fluttershy, but it seems we were wrong this time." said Twilight.

"So wait Fluttershy. . . how exactly did you come across this. . .human?" wondered Rainbow Dash. "I would greatly appreciate it if you all would call me by name. . .I mean. . that is if it's not to much trouble." "Uh. . . right . . sorry Daniel" "Thank you" I said.
