My little Chrysalis

Death and Opposing the Elements

(3 weeks later)
I woke up and look around. The sun is just starting to rise. I sit up and walk to the bathroom. I took a quick shower. Today was a special day. It was Crissy's birthday. I still didn't know when her real birthday was, so I continued to use the day I found her. I got dressed and went downstairs. She was still sleeping, so I made her favorite breakfast. Pancakes with jelly. A simple breakfast, but really good to. As I was making the last pancake, I heard hoof steps coming down the stairs. She must've smelled the food, because in about a second, I saw her run to the table with a fork and knife ready.
"I take it your ready for your pancake," I asked.
"Damn right I am."
I chuckled. She picked up a few words while on earth. It's not like I didn't use them when I was fifteen. I brought her a stack of pancakes.
"By the way," I said.
"Fhut," she said with a mouthful of food.
"I have to run into town today, so I'll be gone for a while."
She looked at me.
"Can I fly around today?" I saw those puppy-eyes.
"Crissy," I said, "You know I have no control if you want to go flying. You can do that whenever you want."
She smiled.
"Thanks dad."
I nodded my head. I grabbed some bits that Celestia gave me and walked out of the house. I walked into town and walked to a place I knew I was going to regret going to. Sugarcube Corner. I knew I couldn't avoid Pinkie forever, so I might as well get it over with. I walked up to the building and went inside. I walked up to the counter and rang the bell.
"One minute," I heard Pinkie say.
After a minute, I saw her walk out of the kitchen. I was scared. Pinkie was the one pony I was scared of. If anything about her is true, then I wanted to avoid her if at all possible. But I was here for Crissy, so I'll live through it.
"Hello," I said.
Her eyes widen when she heard my voice. That told me she remembered me attacking the princess.
"You," she hissed. Her mane went flat, her pupils shrunk. She walked up to me with a knife.
"You attacked the princess," she said, "Now you will pay."
She jumped at me and swung the knife. I ducked and ran out the door. Now I was being chased through town by a pink mare.
"OH SHIT," I yelled as Pinkie jumped at me again. I turned quickly and ran into the library. I dashed inside and hid upstairs. Too late did I realized I was in Twilight's bedroom.
"Shit shit SHIT," I thought as I realized where I was. I heard Twilight walk in. I knew she wouldn't be happy to see me. As soon as she opened the door, I ran out. Twilight saw me and her eyes widen. I ran out of the library and onto the street. Now I was being chased by a pissed Pinkie and Twilight. Why does god hate me? I turned a corner to find a dead end. I turned around to run out, but they were already there. I backed up as they advanced. I hit the end and drew my sword from thin air. I wasn't going down without a fight.
"You were the one who attacked the princess," Twilight said.
"We're you expecting another human," I asked sarcastically.
"I guess not," she said.
"Look," I said, "I just want a cake for a birthday."
I saw Pinkie's mane poof up instantly.
"Really, who's birthday is it? Do you want chocolate, or vanilla? Do you wa-," she was cut off by Twilight.
"He attacked the princess," she said.
"Because she didn't keep her promise," I said.
"What?" Pinkie's hair deflated again.
"I asked her not to hurt someone close to me," I said. They didn't know about Chrysalis yet, and I wasn't about to tell them. "But she captured her and then her personal guard attacked her. I thought that Celestia had hurt her. I'm sorry."
Twilight eyes widen.
"Th-the p-princess didn't keep h-her promise?"
I nodded.
"I'm sorry for attacking you," she said.
"It's fine. Now, can I get that cake?"
Pinkie got me a cake, free of charge. I tried to pay her, but she said it was an apology gift. I took the cake and walked back home. I walked back home and saw Crissy flying around, so I went inside and put the cake in the fridge. Chrysalis came in an hour later.
"Hey Crissy," I said, "Did you have fun?"
"Yes! I can't believe how fun it is to fly!"
"Well, I'm glad you like it."
"So," she said, "Is there something you want to say to me."
I thought for a moment.
"Not that I can think of."
She glared at me.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
She stomped her hoof in anger.
"ARRGG!!!" She stormed up to her room and shut the door. I went outside and to the ones hiding out there to hurry in and get ready. While they set everything up, I went to get Crissy. I knocked on the door but didn't get an answer. I could hear a soft crying coming from inside the room. I opened the door and walked in. Chrysalis was laying on her bed; quietly crying. I walked over to her and sat next to her. She didn't seem to notice me, so I softly ran my fingers through her mane.
"Hey," I said, "Are you okay?"
"What do you think?"
"Look, I know you're upset, but will you come downstairs. There's something I want to show you."
"Fine," she said. I got up and she followed me downstairs. As soon as we walked into the kitchen, a bunch of ponies jumped up and yelled, "SURPRISE!!!" Crissy nearly jumped out of her skin. She looked around and saw the decorations, treats and presents. She looked at me. I saw tears forming in her eyes. I looked at her.
"Happy Birthday," I said.
She jumped at me and threw her arms around my neck.
"THANK YOU," she shouted in my ear.
"ARG," I said, grabbing my ear, "I can't hear anything!"
"Sorry," Crissy said.
"WHAT!"
She chuckled and walked over to start the party. Then I saw someone I somehow didn't notice before. Standing at the back of the room, causally siting there, was Celestia and Luna. I wasn't to happy that they were here, but I walked over to them and sat down.
"And is there something you need," I asked sarcastically.
"Well," Celestia said, "We wanted to apologize for trying to take Chrysalis from you. So we decided to come to her birthday party."
"Yes," Luna said, "We are sorry for taking Chrysalis without a reason."
"I see," I said, nonchalantly, "And that is why you are here?"
"Yes," Celestia said.
"Well then," I said, "I will allow you to stay in my home. But, if you even look at me or Chrysalis the wrong way, I will not hesitate to beat you senseless until you get it through your thick skulls that Chrysalis has changed. Do you understand?"
They nodded their heads.
"Good."
I walked away and joined Crissy at the cake. After a few hours, the only ones left were me, Crissy, Celestia, and Luna. The two princesses walked over to us and looked at Chrysalis.
"Look, Chrysalis," Celestia said, "We wanted to apologize to you for trying to take you from this man, and for attacking you and him. We know you won't forgive us, and we aren't asking for forgiveness. But we just wanted to let you know we are sorry."
They started to walk away, but Chrysalis stopped them.
"I forgive you," she said.
"What, why," Luna asked.
"Because, you were sincere. And that is why I forgive you."
They smiled and nodded their heads. They walked out and flew back to the castle. Me and Crissy walked upstairs and went to bed. The next day I woke up and took my shower. I looked to see if Crissy was up, but I couldn't find her anywhere. I looked around outside and in the forest, but she wasn't here. I was pissed. I looked in the direction of the castle. I took off and ran there. When I made it to the castle gate, the guards stopped me.
"STOP!"
"Move," I said, anger seething in my words.
"We can't let you pass."
I grabbed my sword and stabbed them in the legs. They screamed in pain and I ran into the castle. I made to the throne room and saw Celestia wasn't there. I looked in her room, but she wasn't there either. I went to Luna's room, but couldn't find her either. Now I was worried. If Celestia and Luna are gone, then who took Chrysalis? Then I saw a flash of light in the forest. I looked and then ran to were the flash was. When I finally made it, I saw Celestia, Luna, and Chrysalis laying there. I was about to run to them, but stopped when I saw a strange looking unicorn walk over to them. He had a black coat with a mane that looked like shadows. His horn was red.
"Well, well, what do we have here," he said, "The two princesses and a queen. Looks like I'm going to have a feast tonight."
I was pissed. I wasn't about to let this thing eat the princesses, much less Crissy. I ran up to the unicorn and stabbed at him. I was surprised however when my sword stopped just inches from his neck.
"What the," he said as he looked at me. He looked me in the eyes and they grew wide with fear. My eyes were black like they were when Celestia had hurt my sister. I swung at him again, and this time it went through. My sword connected with his side and went in. He screamed in pain.
"If you EVER take the princesses or Chrysalis, I will cut off your head and shove it up your ass. DO YOU UNDERSTAND!?"
He nodded his head and ran off. I looked back to see the princesses trying to get up. I ran over to them and help them up.
"Are you alright," I asked.
"Yes," they said, "But I don't think Chrysalis is."
I looked at Chrysalis. She wasn't breathing.
"No," I said. I ran over to her and put my hand to her chest. There was no pulse. I felt tears start to form in my eyes. She was gone. The only happiness in my life, taken from me because I wasn't paying attention.
"No," I said, "NO! I won't let you die!"
I put my hand on her chest and focused.
"You might want to stand back," I said.
I focused all of my energy and forced it into Chrysalis. Her body glowed and so did I. Then the glow faded and a gasp was heard. I fell to the ground, fighting to stay alive. I looked over to Chrysalis and saw she was alive.
"Crissy," I said, my voice barely over a whisper.
"DADDY!!!" She ran over to me and pick me up in her hooves. She was a good 6 feet tall now. I looked at her and smiled.
"Don't…ever…forget…that I…love…you."
I could barely talk now because I had given all of my energy to Crissy. She looked at me with tears in her eyes.
"Daddy," she whispered, "Don't leave me. I need you."
I smiled at her.
"You…don't need…me…anymore……You…can…take…care…of…yourself.…now.…Just know…that…I will…always…be with…you."
I smiled at her and closed my eyes. I took one last breath; then I laid still.
(POV change to Chrysalis)
"Daddy," I whispered. I shook his body, but he didn't wake up.
"Daddy!?" I shook him some more.
"DADDY!?" I cried onto his lifeless body. He was gone. He was gone forever. I was all alone now. I carried his lifeless body and walked to the Cantorlot cemetery. I used my magic to dig a hole and make a casket. I put him in the casket and lowered it into the ground. Then I covered it up and carved one line onto a rock.
Here lies Jonathon, my father. R.I.P
I got up and walked away. He will live on in my memories. I will never forget him.
(POV changed to Jonathon)
I woke up and looked around. It was all white. Then I saw a shadow walking towards me. It stopped in front of me.
"Who are you," I asked.
"I am God," he said.
"Where am I?"
"You are in heaven. I am here to give you a choice."
"What do you mean," I asked.
"You can either stay here with your family. Or you can go back to the real world with your daughter."
"My family."
He nodded and turned his head and I saw my family standing there. I walked over to them and looked at my grandpa.
"Grandpa," I said, "I'm so sorry. I never meant to say that."
"It's alright," he said, "Thank you for taking care of your siblings. But now you need to take care of your daughter. She is shattered without you."
I looked over at god.
"I've made my choice. I will return to the real world for my daughter."
He nodded and I started to glow. Then I woke up in an enclosed space. I felt around and found the top. I summoned an axe and started hacking away. Soon, I was crawling out of a hole. I looked around and saw that I was in what looked like the Cantorlot cemetery. So if I was here, then the Everfree was close. But first, I needed to see a princess. She needed to know I was alive. I made my way into the castle without getting caught. It was nighttime so it wasn't to hard. I made my way to Luna's room to talk to her. I found it and walked in. I looked around but she wasn't on the bed. She was on her balcony looking up at the night sky. She had tears in her eyes. I walked up behind her and looked at the sky. It was amazing. I had always loved the night. I wasn't able to see the night back on earth because of the pollution.
Luna looked down.
"I wish some ponies would look at my night instead of sleeping through it," she said.
"I can grant you that wish," I said.
She gasped and turned around to see who it was. She saw me and her eyes went wide.
"Jonathon," she said, "Is that you?"
"In the flesh."
"Oh god. I can't believe you're alive. Chrysalis has been heartbroken ever since you died."
"I know," I said, "That is why I'm going to find her. But I wanted to make sure you knew I was alive. But don't tell Celestia. It's better that she doesn't know for now."
"Why," she asked.
"Just, don't tell her. Please."
"Okay."
"Thank you," I said.
I walked out of the castle and made my way into the forest. I found our home and walked inside. I walked up the stairs and found her bedroom. I quietly opened the door and walked in. She was sleeping on the bed. Se just barely fit in it anymore. She was at least 6 1/2 feet tall now, so she was full height. I walked over to the bed and sat on the edge. She didn't seem to notice me, so I got up and walked into my room. I laid down in my old bed. I was so tired, I fell asleep instantly. The next morning, I woke up and got out of bed. I walked down to Chrysalis's room, and she was still asleep. Good. I walked down stairs and made her breakfast. After I was done, I left a note that said, 'Hope you like it.' And that was it. I hid when I heard hoof steps walking down the stairs. She walked into the kitchen and saw the food. Her eyes widen. She saw the note and read it. The she immediately started eating the food. When she was finished, she thought for a moment.
"Wait a minute," she said, "I haven't tasted food this good since……dad died."
She looked down and started to cry. I got up and walked up behind her.
"Hey, don't you start crying on me," I said.
She gasped and slowly turned around. She saw me and just sat there. She slowly raised her hoof and touched my arm.
"Is there something you saw," I asked, smiling.
"DADDY!!!" She tackled me and hugged me. I laughed and hugged her back. I stroked her mane as she cried onto my shoulder.
"Daddy," she said, "You've been gone for so long. I've missed you."
"Don't worry sweetie," I said, "I'm never going to leave you again."
She nodded and hugged me closer.
"Listen, Crissy." I looked her in the eyes.
"Yes dad?"
"I need to go see Celestia, so I will be gone for a while. But I will be back, okay?"
She nodded.
I got up and walked out the door. I got to the castle and snuck past the guards. I made my way slowly to the throne room. I walked in and saw Celestia reading what looked like a letter. She didn't see me, so I snuck up to her. There was only a few guards, so,it was easy to get behind her. I walked up to her and stood there. She was reading a friendship report from Twilight. I decided to read it. It wasn't anything different about it, so I didn't finish it. I walked closer to Celestia until I was right behind her. Then, I put my hand to her mouth and turned her to face me. I wasn't happy that she decided to leave Chrysalis to fend for her self, and she saw the anger in my eyes. She screamed into my hand and the guards heard her. They turned around and saw me. They attacked. I scowled; released Celestia, and drew my sword. One guards swung, but I blocked it and kicked him across the room. Another one tried to take out my legs, but I jumped over it and cut his legs. He screamed. The others realized that they couldn't beat me, so they ran off. I turned to Celestia, but she wasn't there. I looked around but she wasn't in the throne room. I ran out and to her room; taking any guards out along the way. I found her room and busted down the doors. She was attempting to send a letter. I ran to stop her, but she sent it just before I reached her. She tried to teleport, but I grabbed her horn to stop her. She screamed in pain.
"NO," I shouted, "YOU AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE!!!"
She whimpered.
"You are going to tell me why you decided to leave Chrysalis to fend for herself!"
She stayed quiet.
"I don't think so," she said smugly.
"What are you talking about?"
"You forget, the elements of harmony are very protective. And they will attack you."
"We'll see about that," I said.
She smirked.
"NOW GIRLS!"
"WHAT!?" I turned around to see the elements standing there, a bright glow forming around them. Then, a giant rainbow erupted and flew at me. Before I could hit me, I raised my sword and pushed against it. It didn't hit me as I pushed it back.
"WHAT!?" Celestia looked at me in shock.
"You can't use the elements on me," I said smugly, "I'm not evil. I'm here to protect my daughter from YOU!" As soon as I finished the sentence, I swung my sword up and the rainbow shot up and away from me. They six fell to the floor, out cold. I looked at Celestia and glared at her. She froze in fear.
"You dare attack me," I said, my voice dripping with venom, "You leave my daughter to fend for her self, THEN YOU ATTACK ME!?"
I grabbed her by the neck and threw her across the room. She collided with the wall and fell to the ground. I walked up to her as she tried to get up. I grabbed her horn and lifted her above my head.
"Now, you will tell me why. Why did you try to attack me? And why did you leave Chrysalis to fend for herself?"
"Because," she said angrily, "She doesn't deserve our help."
"WHAT!?" I slammed her to the ground. "YOU THINK SHE DOESN'T DESERVE YOU HELP!? SHE HAS DONE NOTHING BUT HELP YOU!!! AND YOU SAY SHE DOESN'T DESERVE YOUR HELP!?"
I picked her up by the horn and threw her. She hit the wall horn first and it broke off. She let out a blood curdling scream.
"FIRST YOU TRY TO TAKE CHRYSALIS FROM ME, THEN YOU NEARLY KILL MY SISTER, THEN YOU IMPRISON HER, AND NOW YOU SAY SHE DOESN'T DESERVE YOUR HELP!?!?!?"
I picked her up by the neck; pinned her against the wall, and choked her. She tried to grab at my hand but couldn't. Just before she fell into unconsciousness, I let her go. She laid there gasping for breath.
"If you ever attack me you my daughter again, I will kill you. And if you try to have the elements or your sister attack me, I will send you their severed head in a box. I don't want that to happen. I love them, but if they threaten us, then I will do anything to protect Chrysalis."
I left her there, and went to Luna's room. I walked in and saw her sitting at her desk reading her book. I walked up to her and tapped her shoulder.
"Luna," I said, "I need to tell you something."
"What is it Jonathon?"
"I love you to much to hurt you. I love you. But if you threaten my family, then I will protect them. That is why I wanted to ask you if you would ignore you sister if she asks you to attack us. I just wanted to tell you that. I love you to much to hurt you."
I started to walk out but Luna stopped me. I turned to look at her, but instead found her kissing me. I was a little stunned at first, but eventually kissed back. She stepped back and looked at me.
"I love you too," she said, "I will never threaten your family. Even if Celestia was begging me."
I smiled.
"Thank you."
I walked out and went home. I walked inside; got into bed, and thought about what just happened. I just kissed Luna. The princess of the night. I was happy. Then, my door opened. I sat up expecting Chrysalis, but instead saw Luna. I watched as she walked up to me and sat on the bed. I just continued to stare. Finally, she broke the silence.
"Do you really love me," she asked.
"Yes. I love everything about you. I especially love your nights. I wasn't able to see them very well back on my planet because of all the pollution, but here I can see them clearly. And they are beautiful."
I saw her eyes start to water.
"Thank you. I've never had anyone enjoy my nights. They always sleep through them and play in the day."
"Well," I said, "I particularly hate the day. Too bright."
She giggled.
"Luna," I said as I moved closer to her and put my arm around her, "You need to stop thinking like that. No pony hates your nights. They just don't have the time to watch and enjoy it. No body hates it."
She looked at me. Her eyes were filled with tears.
"Y-you really th-think so?"
"I know so."
Then she threw her fore legs around me and hugged me. After a moment, I hugged back.
"Thank you," she said.
"I always help a friend."
"D-do you mind if…I stay…for a while?"
I thought for a moment.
"Yes," I said, "You are always welcome here. But your sister isn't."
"Thank you."
We laid down and she fell asleep. As I was closing my eyes, I felt something move up against me. I looked over and saw that Luna had nuzzled up against my side. I smiled and ran my fingers through her mane and down her back. She sighed and rustled her wings. I chuckled and a few minutes later, I fell asleep.
