A Star Is Waiting

Chapter 1

Sweetie Belle had scanned the crowd to see who arrived at her first concert. Her parents, the CMC including Babs, and even Spike. Her heart dropped when Sweetie noticed that the pony she had looked up to since birth was not there. Sweetie Belle had walked to her dressing room with her head down low.
"Spike came, why not Rarity?" Sweetie Belle said to herself. Sweetie Belle had looked at her dressing room sign and couldn't help but tear up. It was shimmering in the light and said "SWEETIE BELLE" in bright gold letters.
"It looks amazing," Sweetie Belle turned and saw Spike in tux for her opening night. "How long had you talked about seeing your name in gold letters... oh yeah five days after you got your cutie mark!"
"SPIKE! What are you doing in the here? I saw you in the audience but I didn't think you had a backstage pass!"
"I wanted to see my favorite sister in law before her show, now come and give me a hug." Spike and Rarity had wed shortly after Spike had gotten older (and taller).

"Is Rarity still mad?" Sweetie asked. Spike sighed trying to think of a reply.
"You need to get ready for your show. I'l get Apple-bloom to help you with your hair and make-up" Spike replied.
"You ruined it! How could you!?

"Knock ,Knock,Knock" There was a knock on the door and then appeared three familiar face.
"Babs, Scoots, Apple-bloom! Spike just said Apple-bloom!"
"SURPRISE!!!" Babs and Scootaloo said.
"Ah thought it would a nice surprise for the cutie mark crusaders to celebrate before one of us is off to perform," Apple-Bloom said.
"We could do this whenever we are about to perform!" Scootaloo said. "Speaking of which, I have a show this upcoming Wednesday."
Babs throw a satin pillow at Scootaloo causing Sweetie Belle to fall down in laughter. " I knew it was a good idea to add a couch to the dressing room," Sweetie said.
"Now let's get that mane all prettied up," Apple-bloom said. Sweetie-Belle had gotten a glance at Apple-bloom's cutie mark. Sweetie Belle smiled remembering the day they all got their cutie marks.

All of the cutie mark crusaders had planed to put on a show for Pony-Ville. Babs was the first of the crusaders to get a cutie mark. She had bat and a stick of dynamite on her flank to symbolism her love for destruction. The bat and the stick of dynamite formed an X on her flank. Babs figured that out when her sisters colt-friend toke Babs to see an old building being destroyed. She got to light the dynamite and beat a wall down with a bat.
"BABS! That paint does not go well with that scenery! Don't think about putting that brush down!" Apple-bloom yelled at Babs. Apple-bloom then started painted the background for the show and when she stopped to design the clothes, her cutie mark appeared! It was a red apple with a white flower blooming out of it. Apple- bloom was so happy and made the most gorgeous of clothing that day.
Scootaloo had been getting flying practice from Rainbow-Dash and felt ready to show off her moves. Scootaloo had been practicing with her scooter and set up her ramps so when she jumped, Scoots would land on the other ramp. Just as she jumped off the ramp the scooter fell and Scootaloo flew and flew farther then the other ramp. When she landed a purple lightning bolt with a black scooter wheel on top of it appeared as her cutie mark. That was how Scootaloo knew she was destined to fly and use a scooter at the same time.
Sweetie Belle was the last of the crusaders to get a cutie mark. She had been scared of singing in front of a crowd and went to Rarity for advice on stage fright. Rarity had told Sweetie to close her eyes and relax. When Sweetie Belle had closed her eyes and started to sing. Sweetie Belle sang a song about her loving sister. When she opened her eyes, Rarity had a tear role down her face. Rarity gave Sweetie a hug and then a heart with a microphone on it appeared on her flank.
They had the best performance Pony-Ville had ever seen.

"And I'm done with your make-up, onto your mane," Apple-bloom said. "You've been quiet what's on your mind?" Babs and Scootaloo had left the room for Apple-bloom to focus.
"Well first of all you were doing my make-up and I was just remembering when we got our cutie marks," Sweetie Belle said.
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened between you and Rarity?"
"I did and said something I never should have." Sweetie replied "I regret it greatly. Rarity helped me get my cutie mark and I told her that...that." Apple-bloom stopped curling her mane and said, "Sweetie Belle, what ever you said, whatever you did can be forgiven. I know that what you did really hurt her and I know that because she didn't show up. Stop your crying and show Cantorlot what you can do!" Apple- bloom was right but, Sweetie Belle still wanted to see her sister.
"I'm sorry," Sweetie Belle whispered thinking Rarity heard her.
"All done with your mane now you have twenty minutes until you're on," Apple-bloom said

Sweetie Belle had been left all alone in her dressing room thinking about what she did. Sweetie Belle had been arguing with Rarity about what color dress Sweetie Belle should wear. It was a stupid thing to be fighting about and it ended up resulting in breaking a crystal rose Spike gave her when he saved the crystal empire. Rarity loved that rose because it also meant the start of the love between Rarity and Spike. Sweetie Belle had bumped into the vase and broke the rose.
"Your marriage with Spike should never have been made!" Sweetie recalled saying.
"You ruined it! How could you!? Rarity said to Sweetie Belle. Sweetie knew Rarity said something to her that made her say that about Spike and Rarity.

"Can I come in?" Sweetie Belle turned around and saw Rarity. Sweetie ran up to her and apologized.
"I'm so sorry I never should have said that about you! I regret breaking it and and..." Rarity cut her off before she could finish.
"I can replace the rose and I know that you didn't mean what you said. I was a little bossy about the dress and I know that I brought up something that I never should have. I love you and I wouldn't miss your opening night over a silly little mistake."
"You mean it?'
"Every word."
"I love you Rarity!"
"I love you more Sweetie Belle!"

"This closing song is dedicated to my sister Rarity, it's a lullaby she sang to me when I was younger. Hush Now Quiet Now."
Rarity had started to cry remembering the song she sang to her. It was the same song that Fluttershy complained about getting stuck in her head. The same song that helped Sweetie Belle get over her fear of singing in front of people.
