Evanescing Ties

As the sun rose over the horizon, so too did the residents of the realm of Equestria from their cozy homes. All was peaceful and quiet, another average day in the life of a pony. The shopkeepers opened up their stands to the crowds of hungry ponies, waiting to bulldoze their way through the others to get their daily crop of asparagus and other foods. The streets of Ponyville slowly condensed with the local stallions and mares that inhabited its humble houses. All seemed right in the world, nothing could possibly interfere with their daily schedules; that is, until a certain cotton candy maned mare crashed through the hordes of ponies.
“RAINBOW DAAAAASH!” the pink furred mare screamed as loud as she could, “RAINBOW DASH WHERE ARE YOU!?”
The extensive screaming of the mare caused the rainbow maned pegasus known to all as Rainbow Dash to fall off of her perch on a high elevated cloud. The pegasus was busy doing what she does best, shirking off her work and taking a nice long nap. After some screaming and intense flailing of her arms, rainbow dash came crashing down on top of the pink maned one.
“Oh, there you are RD! I’ve been looking everywhere for you; OOOH, how high up were you, you must have been way up there! Say, mind helping me set up for a party, huh huh? Pleeeeeease!” pinkie pie spoke in very hasteful manner.
“Ugh pinkie, why can’t you just do it yourself? I doubt it takes two to decorate cupcakes.” The pegasus replied.
“Becaaaaaause silly, what fun is it if you can’t enjoy doing it with your friends huh? Geez rainbow, you’re not very smart are you?” The rainbow one then facehooved at the statement. After forcing pinkie pie to apologize to all the merchants for crashing into their stands, the duo of mares headed towards Sugarcube Corner to do…whatever pinkie pie had planned.
“Oh yeah, rainbow dash, have you heard? I hear Twilight is going on a super-duper important mission to canterlot! Ooh, I wish I could go with her, but she’s all like: “no pinkie, your not serious enough to come” and I'm like: what? Of course I am!” the pink one exclaimed.
“Wait, twilight is going to canterlot again? Wasn’t she just there a week ago?” replied RD. pinkie pie shrugged and continued bouncing towards her home, yet, rainbow dash took off to find the librarian pony. ‘why is she leaving her friends behind Again?’ she thought. Swerving through the crowds and clouds of Ponyville, she hurried as fast as she could to get to the library before she is too late. Rainbow dash, in secret, had a crush of sorts on the librarian pony, so it would break her heart to see her leave their home without letting her say goodbye first. She flew as fast as she could, trying to keep a clear mind and focus on reaching the tree, yet thoughts of her crush kept resurfacing, making her blush and loose her concentration. after slamming into a few houses, the rainbow maned pegasus finally reached the library. As she was about to crash through a window, she stopped mid flight and thought that it would be wise to just use the door. The mare landed and proceeded to knock on the door, hoping that the resident of the tree house would answer. Yet, when no answer came, she lost her patience and kicked the door down, rushing in.
"Twilight, i know your in here, come out now!" Rainbow dash screamed into the open air of the library's lobby, "Please...let me know your alright!" the mare sobbed a bit with her last statement, trying to hold in her inner feelings and thoughts for the lavender unicorn. After all these years of being one of the unicorns best friends, the pegasus has grown rather attached and / or concerned for her, yet she doesn't show it when shes around her. After a few minutes of silence, her head sank, and her mental barriers keeping her from breaking out into a crying fit slowly wore away. Her life was not complete without that "egg-headed" unicorn correcting her on things, its as if she was addicted to be lectured by her. Right when she was about to burst out into a crying fit, a soft voice rose from upstairs.
"Huh....who's there...?" the voice spoke quietly. Rainbow dash perked up suddenly, could this really be the mare she had come to see?
"Anypony there...?" it called out again.
"Y-yes! I'm here!" the pegasus called back.
"Rainbow...?" the voice rose and sure enough, there was ms. Twilight sparkle, her mane messed up from sleep, at the top of the stairs. she literally looked as if she had just rolled out of bed, which was probably the case. Yet, just the sight of seeing her still here set the rainbow one's cheeks ablaze, and twilight noticed this.
"Whats wrong rainbow, you look...red?" asked the unicorn tenderly. Rainbow dash shook her head and repeated: "U-uh, nothing! its just weird seeing you like this..." Twilight giggled at her hesitance and walked downstairs to greet her friend / sidekick. However, the closer the unicorn got to the pegasus, the farther rainbow backed up. Twilight took note of this and stopped due to rainbow being backed into a wall.
"Why are you...are you avoiding me rainbow?" questioned the unicorn as she cocked an eyebrow.
"Wha...? Of course not! Why would i come all the way over to stop you from leaving if i was gonna avoid-" she stopped mid-sentence and turned a deep shade of red, as did twilight. The two mares stood there awkwardly for a while, no one speaking a word. After a while, the rainbow pegaus looked up at twilight, hoping to appologize, yet she instead tilted her head in confusion at the expression of her fellow mare. Twilight was lost in thought, Deeply lost in thought.
'did she really just......no no, it couldnt have been.'
She did Twilight, she just cared for YOU...
'wha...? who said that?!'
I did, or should i say, You did.
The thought of having another voice inside her head talking, nay, arguing with her set Twilight mind swirling off into craziness. Nothing had ever happened to her to cause this, so, why was it happening? After some silence, she finally sighed and gave in.
'aright fine...what did you mean by caring for me?'
Hehe...think about it Twili...you have always cared for everyone, including the pegasus in front of you.
'yes....your point being?'
When has she ever gotten concerned about YOUR safety or such hmmm?
'she always is, as is every one of my friends!'
Name one time then.
'.....'
Well? go ahead, im waiting...
'...i see your point...'
And...?
'your right....i cant remember a time in which they cared for me back...'
Eyuup. This pegasus just did though, for the first time in like....forever.
Twilight sparkle, the most shut-in pony the town has known, just had another pony aside from her family Actually care for her. This sudden realization caused the young unicorn to blush harder than anyone has ever seen before.
'Rainbow dash....'

She actually cares for me.
