Chapter 30: Wonderbolt Academy
The mares and I were under my and Rainbow’s house waiting for the mail. This was because Rainbow applied the Wonderbolt Academy and we wanted to see if she made it, especially Pinkie Pie.
“I wish the mailpony would just come already. I can’t wait to see if Rainbow Dash got in or not.” She exclaimed.
“Pinkie Pie, you’re acting more nervous than Rainbow Dash.” Twilight said.
“I’m not nervous at all. When I get in the Wonderbolt Academy...” Rainbow began to say
“If you get in. If. You. Get. In. Don’t jynx it.” Pinkie said grabbing her.
“I’m telling you it’s in the bag.”
“Don’t jynx it!”
“She is the best flyer in Ponyville.” Applejack said.
“In Ponyville?” Rainbow asked before flying around a nearby cloud, shaping it into a slide and going down it headfirst on her back, “I’m probably the best flyer in all of Equestria. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just went ahead and made me a Wonderbolt on the first day.” Rainbow then bumped into the legs of a mailpony, who gave her a letter. She tore it open and grew a look of disappointment, “I didn’t get in.”
We all were shocked and saddened before Rainbow flipped it over showing a seal of approval, “Gotcha. You guys are so gullible. Like I wasn’t going to get in.”
Pinkie then gave Rainbow a tackle hug, not like the ones Rainbow gives me, because this had more squeezing and no kissing. I mean if Pinkie did start kissing Rainbow, well I wouldn’t know whether to be angry or aroused. “I’m just sooooooooooooooooo happy for you!” Pinkie shouted.
“Uh, thanks. Pinkie Pie, I kinda need to get going.”
Pinkie gave one more big squeeze before letting go, “Okay, I’m done.”
“Sooner I get there, the sooner I get to show my stuff.” Rainbow then quickly flew by, giving me a kiss on the cheek and grabbed her saddlebags from Applejack and Rarity. “See you guys in a week.”
“Good luck.” Applejack told her.
“Won’t need it.”
“Love you, beautiful!” I call as she flies away.
“Love you too!”
Pinkie then pulls out a giant megaphone and shouted “DON”T FORGET TO WWRRRIIITE!” She then asked us something after that, but I didn’t pick up on it, my ears were ringing too much.

So three days later while Twilight and the others were talking with Pinkie Pie about the waiting by her mailbox, Spike and were having some important conversation.
“Spike, I’m telling you Batcolt would so beat Daring Do in a fight.” I said, defending my side of the debate.
“No way, Daring has the flight advantage and she has her whip.” Spike responded.
“You’re point being what? Cat Mare uses a whip and Batcolt has flying enemies, like Grif-Bat.”
“Well Daring Do’s is at least more sane than Batcolt. Even if her love interest is a Diamond Dog.”
“Yeah, true, but we’re not talking about that. We’re talking about if these two got in a fight, who would win, and it’ll be Batcolt.”
That’s when Twilight and Pinkie came in with a package. “Hey Sethy the girls and I are going to deliver a care package for Rainbow so she won’t forget who we are, if she hasn’t already. She may not remember about how much she loves you.” Pinkie said to me.
I roll my eyes and say, “Pinkie, it’s only been three days, she wouldn’t of forgotten us even if it was three weeks, months or years.”
“You don’t know that.”
“Well remember when I was training in Canterlot. I was gone, but didn’t forget you gals. Hell, I teleported all the way from there when Rainbow got hurt.”
“Well, I guess that’s true, but still don’t be surprised if you’re wrong.”
I sigh and say, “Fine, but don’t pull this crap while Rainbow and I are on our honeymoon.”
“If you have a honeymoon. If.”

So the three of us (Spike wasn’t coming. Something about doing research to prove me wrong.) met the other three by Pinkie’s hot air balloon. As we went into the air Pinkie asked me,
“So Sethy if Dashie doesn’t remember you then what would you miss about her the most?”
“I know she didn’t forget and if she did, well I’d just would have her fall in love with me again.” I respond.
“What if she didn’t want to be with you again.”
“If we’re really going that route then...” I pause for a second to think about it since I doubt ‘everything’ would be an acceptable answer. “I guess I’d miss that pure confidence of hers. Sure somepony’s my say it’s just her being cocky, but I’d say they’re idiots. It’s her way of dealing with things, because no matter what stands in her way, no matter what life throws at her she’ll overcome it and reach her goals because she knows she can. I always found that inspiring and it’s one of the first things about her that I fell in love with, and now to think how close she is to achieving those goals. I’m just so happy for her.”
As I finished the only response I got was Applejack shouting, “It’s a twister!”, as a huge tornado came at us and sucked us into it. The next thing I know is that the ropes snapped and we were all plummeting to our dooms. I tried to use magic, but was too dizzy to focus. We then landed on some clouds that acted as springs and sent us back up into the air, but we were caught by some of the Wonderbolt Academy trainees, I was caught by Roid Rage, which I couldn’t help, but feel embarrassed by that, I then caught the care package. I also noticed Rarity hugging a pegasus I recognize as Thunderlane. Hmmm... I wonder if there’s something going on there.
We were let down on solid ground as Rainbow flew up to us. “Are you guys okay?!”
“Uh-hu.” We responded.
“Pinkie Pie!” Rainbow shouted at the mare of that name who was laying on the ground.
Pinkie hugged her saying, “You remembered me!”
“Well yeah of course I remembered, but what are you guys doing here?”
“We wanted to bring you a care package, didn’t realize that you’d be in a middle of some crazy tornado drill.” Applejack explained.
“That was awesome!” shouted a aqua mare with a golden mane.
“Awesome? My friends and fiancé could of been smashed to pieces!” Rainbow shouted at her.
“Yeah, but they weren’t right? Can’t say the same for the clouds. We totally whipped them out with that tornado. The other cadets would have to be up there for days to push as many clouds as we did.” She then extended her arm out.
“A hoofbump? Seriously? You made me clip my wing, send half our class into a serious tailspin on the obstacle coarse, you unleashed a tornado that nearly demolished my friends!”
“Yeah and?”
“And I know you want to be the best, so do I, but you’re going about it the wrong way.”
“The Wonderbolts don’t think so. After all Spitfire did make me the leader and you the wing pony.”
“You’re right she did. Now if you excuse me I have to talk with her.” Rainbow then flew off.

When she got back she told us that she quit.
“You did what?!” Applejack shouted what we were all thinking.
“Being a Wonderbolt was your dream.” Rarity added.
“Not any more.” Rainbow responded.
“What about that promise you made to you mother before she...” I began to say before Rainbow turned around to show the tears in her eyes and I stop what I was saying.
“I’m sorry Rainbow Dash. I know how much this meant to you.” Twilight said before we all got into a group huddle to show that we were there for her.
“Rainbow Dash!” Captain Spitfire shouted, “How dare you storm out of my office without giving me a chance to respond. The Wonderbolts are looking for the best flyers in Equestria. You were right, being the best should never come before the expense of our fellow ponies. It’s not just about pushing ourselves, it’s about pushing ourselves in the right direction. You shown that you’re capable of doing just that.”
Then that aqua-colored bitch from earlier came up and Spitfire got in her face tearing off a golden pin off of her suit and motioned for her to leave.
Spitfire turned back to Rainbow and continued, “You’re no wing pony Rainbow Dash, you’re a leader.” She put the pin on Rainbow suit.
Rainbow fluttered her wings with a string of ‘Oh my gosh’s. Too cute.
“Now get up there and give me 20!” The Wonderbolt captain ordered.
“Yes Ma'am!” Rainbow responded taking off.
“Wait you didn’t get to open your care package!” Pinkie called at her.
