//------------------------------// // The Land Lord // Story: Failure // by Streekersheep //------------------------------// Five days after Luna was saved. -------------------- Luna was leaning over a book. She was weary and her eyes were bloodshot. She had been researching for five days straight. She knew she had seen this just before she was locked away, but the memory eluded her. Finally Luna found the page she was looking for. She quickly wrote a letter and sent it. Luna really wanted to go to bed but it was night time, she would have to wait a while before she could get her sleep. -------------------- The morning before. -------------------- Fey awoke to the sound of Gilda yelling about something or other. "We can't stay here anymore, I'm tired of sleeping on the floor." "If that is what you must do, then go ahead and move." Zecora said. For the past few days Fey, Gilda and Trixie have been living in Zecora's hut as it is the only house close enough to Ponyville that will allow them to continue their duties of watching over the mane six. Since Zecora only has one bed, Fey, Gilda and Trixie had to sleep on the floor. "I'm going to have to agree with Gilda on this one, we need to find a place where we won't wake up stiff every morning. This is a nice place Zecora, it's just not big enough." Said Trixie as she got up and cracked her back. "We will search for a house today then, but who's going to watch over the six?" Asked Fey as she repeated the same motions as Trixie. "I do believe its Gilda's turn this time." Trixie said. "Fine, but you two better pick a good house." Said Gilda. "It's settled then, lets get going Trixie." Fey said as she walked out the door. -------------------- Fey and Trixie visited town hall and grabbed the only three advertisements there. "So where is our fist stop?" Fey asked. "It should be right here." Trixie said as she checked the directions again. They both looked up and say a large field of apple trees, a house, and a barn with a sign on it that said Tenants Wanted. "Aw hell no, I'm not sleeping in a barn. We need a real house." Fey said as she turned around. "Where is the next house?" "It's fairly close." Trixie replied as she caught up. After a bit of travel and a random rain storm, Trixie and Fey arrived at the nest house which looked very strange. They knocked on the door and a brown earth pony answered. "What do you want, I'm kind of doing something important at the moment." The pony said. "We have been looking for a place to stay and found an add that said you had a big basement for ponies to stay in." Fey said. "Ah, yes that. Come on in and I'll show you around." Said the pony as he turned around and guided them in. There were strange gadgets everywhere but no one really cared. "And here is the stairwell leading to the basement." "Ok then lets have a look." Fey said as she started walking down the stairs but was stopped at the bottom by two Pegasi statues that were facing each other. "What are these things?" Trixie asked as she also reached the bottom of the stairs. "Oh, I forgot about those. Make sure they are always facing each other." The pony said fairly calmly. "Why?" Asked Trixie. "Do you want the truth or a lie?" The brown pony asked. "The truth would be good." Trixie said. "Well in all honesty, if they are not facing each other and your not looking at them, they might just kill you." Said the pony nervously. "I think we're done here, good-bye." Said Fey as she started to think the pony was crazy. Fey and Trixie started looking for the third house but found it didn't exist. It was night time and they were very mad. "Who puts an add for a house that doesn't exist." Trixie said angrily. "Whatever, we should go back to town hall and-" Fey was interrupted by a bright flash that came from Trixie's hat. "What was that?" "It's a letter from Princess Luna." Said Trixie as she pulled the letter out from under her hat and began to read it. Dear Fey, Trixie, and Gilda. I've done some research but all I have found so far is that you three can be apart but are strongest when your together. Try to stay together the best you can. I will do more research in a few days after I get more rest. Oh and I thought maybe you could use a better house. Included is a map to a house you three may stay in. Sincerely, Princess Luna. The map slid out. "Sweet, let's go. We will call Gilda when we get there." Fey said as she picked up the map. -------------------- "So Gilda, how was your day?" Trixie asked. "Well I got to see a lavender unicorn get pestered over a stupid ticket. That was kind of entertaining." Gilda said as they entered the house that was on the outskirts of Ponyville. Inside they found all of their stuff was already there. On the top of the luggage were three golden tickets. "What are these for?" Fey asked. "From the looks of it they are tickets for the Grand Galloping Gala." Trixie said calmly. "That's cool I guess." Fey said. "We should all get settled in, and Gilda you should read this." Said Fey as she handed Gilda Luna's letter. All three of them took their stuff and left for their rooms. Fey took her only bag to her room and sat down. She opened the bag to find just a letter that said If you want to know who I am you will come to the Everfree forest in three days.
