Rainbow Dash must have heard the roar as well. She has yet to enter. Her presence also causes me any problem. I can not use my flashlight, lest I want to be seen. A little while ago I heard Applejack talking to Rainbow at the entrance of the cave. Rainbow told her about the loud roar that sounded from within only moments before her arrival. They would get curious if they saw a floating light in the cave and most likely attack. Then I thought of something else: How am I going to rescue Fluttershy without her seeing me? I guess I could shine the light in her face until we got out of the cave, but I don't want a chance at blinding her. And with the confined space of the cave, I would surely meet the other two. I may not have thought this through.
It has been about five minutes since the I heard the roar, and I have headed further down into the cave. Fluttershy is still crying but with the echos it is hard to pinpoint her location. There is also no way of telling how deep the cave is, or if it branches off. I also do not hear the others searching the cave. I assume that they are planning a strategy, or that they went back and got the others. If that's the case I have to hurry before they arrive. I do not want them to think I'm the creature that wishes them harm. I have also not heard the creature in some time. I am worried, I must not let my guard down.
The crying has stopped now. There is no way of telling where she is now. So I make the first secondary objective the primary. Neutralize all threats. I am to find the creature and kill it. Ensuring a safe extraction from the cave. Now I just need to find it, before it finds me. I am gladly able to use the flashlight now, so hopefully that will make it easier. I have seen many different tunnels branching off the sides, but decided to continue down the main tunnel. I hear snoring now. That must mean the creature is asleep. I will follow the snores and take it out while it sleeps. If all goes as planned, it should be quick and clean.
I have reached the area where the snoring is loudest. I check my Makarov to see if the suppressor is on right. And I checked my Dragunov as well. Both are good to go. I shine the flashlight in and peek around the corner. It looks like a brown bear or possibly a black bear, it is hard to tell but what I do know is I will be needing something bigger that the tiny 9x18mm round. The Dragunov will do just fine though. I take the suppressor off of the pistol and holster it, as well as putting the suppressor away. I take the rifle off of my shoulder and set the flashlight on the ground, facing the bear with the light still on. Since the bear is on the far end of the cavern, I should be fine using the scope. It will not be be completely silent, but it wont deafen me. At the very worst it might frighten Fluttershy, depending on how far away she is from here. I bring the rifle to my shoulder and take aim. Just as I steadied my aim, I heard I hoped I wouldn't.
"Fluttershy?!" A chorus of voices sounded from somewhere behind me, presumably near the entrance of the cave.
"Черт возьми! Again?!" The bear snorted awake and growled when it saw me. Giving it no chance to attack or move much, I shot it in the head. "Угроза нейтрализованы." I whispered to myself, picked up the flashlight, slung the Dranguov back over my shoulder, and headed back to restart the search for Fluttershy, while avoiding the others. Not going to be easy. Their footsteps are still very faint and their calls still echo quite a bit, maybe I can still avoid them.
"Ok girls. I want every nook and cranny of this cave system checked. Not one stone should be left un-turned." Twilight announced to her group.
"Why such a detailed search sugar cube?" Applejack asked.
"I want to see if that talking animal is in here."
"Talking animal?" Rarity asked.
"Applejack and Rainbow Dash both said they heard a talking animal tell them that Fluttershy was lost. I want to find this animal and run some tests on it."
"Or you could just ask it questions. Ya know, since it talks and all?"
"Right. But that's second priority. First we find Fluttershy!" They all agreed and began to search for her. From what I heard they split up into two groups, each with a unicorn in them for light source (as Twilight said).
I heard a growl from behind me and froze. I breathed in deeply before reaching for my now unsuppressed pistol and turning around. It was another bear, possibly the mate of the one that I shot, at the entrance to the cavern I was just in.. The pistol would just piss it off and this is to close quarters for my rifle. Hand-to-hand was also out of the question considering that this is a freaking bear. I quickly re-holstered the Makarov and felt around for anything that might help. I felt a flashbang grenade hanging from my left pocket on my shirt. I grabbed it, pulled the pin, tossed it and ran away while covering my ears. As the name suggests, they make a bang. The light was bright and the ponies probably saw it as well.
I heard a roar from the bear and ran into a side tunnel that looked like it opened into a small cavern. I silently walked into it and checked to see if it had bears in it. It didn't. But what it did have was a scared little yellow pony. She was awake, probably due to the flashbang going off. She had her eyes closed and was shaking. I turned off the flashlight and pressed my back against the wall so the bear wouldn't see me. I could barely see, so I had to rely completely on my hearing. Hopefully the bear wont search this direction, same goes the ponies.
I heard it sniffing the air and drawing closer. I grabbed the rifle from my back and set the flashlight on the ground, facing the entry way and turned it on. The bear made a confused sound and continued to walk. I crouched down in front of Fluttershy with my back facing her and aimed the rifle toward the tunnel and waited for the bear. It turned the corner and winced at the unexpected light, and back around the corner and waited for a few seconds. It eventually popped it's head out again began walking toward me. It was then when I shot the bear and killed it.
I put the safety one both of my weapons, put the rifle back on my shoulder, picked up the flashlight, and turned toward Fluttershy. I shined the light over her and reached out my hand to help her up. She winced slightly and pulled back away from my hand. I kept my hand out to see if she would except my help. She opened her eyes and stared at me for a moment.
After a few seconds she spoke. "Y-you don't want to hurt me, do you?" She was looking at the flashlight like it was my head, so I shook it "O-oh that's good...you came to find me? Is that why you're here?" I shook the flashlight up and down before pointed my index finger out, telling her to wait a moment and propped the flashlight against the wall, and returned. "Oh so that's not your head?" She asked looking over at it and then back at me. It wasn't perfect solution, but it did light the room, if only slightly.
I was about to respond when I heard a gasp and then. "Fluttershy!!" Rainbow called. I turned around and she was charging at me. I dodged her, grabbed her by the neck and redirected her back the way she came. "What the hay?? How'd ya do that?"
"Hold on sugar cube! Imma comin'!" Applejack called. I was in battle stance now and waiting for anything she could throw at me. I do not wish to hurt them but I don't want to be captured either. Applejack charged at me and turned around and tried to kick me. I dodged her as well. She stopped herself and I put her into a sleeper hold until she stopped moving. She's not dead, just unconscious.
It was Pinkie Pie's turn now. She just bounce up to me and asked. "You didn't hurt her did you?" I raised an eyebrow and slowly shook my head. "Okie dokie lokie then." And she bounced away. I raised an eyebrow and scratched me head in confusion.
I saw Twilight's horn glow and shot some kind of beam at me. "Ах вы собираетесь играть в эту игру сука!?" I said as I reached for my pistol. What? Is reflex! and the safety is still on.
I aimed at Twilight and Fluttershy told her to stop. "I don't think he wants to hurt me."
"How can you be sure?! Who knows what it can do to you!"
"If he wanted to hurt me, wouldn't have already?"
"What about Applejack!?"
Fluttershy looked at me. As if she was asking the same question. "She is unconscious. I only knocked her out, she will be fine after awhile." I said.
"See," Said Fluttershy. "He means no harm."
"Then why did he attack us!?!?" Rainbow yelled.
"I did not attack you! You attacked me!" Twilight's horn stopped glowing and I lower my pistol. "I understand wanting to help a comrade. But you should have approached this situation with caution, instead of just running in head first. If I were easily startled, I could have killed you! You need to think Rainbow Dash, use your head for a change!"
"You know my name?!"
"I know all of your names. I have been watching for a while."
Just then a purple beam of light hit me and I fell to the ground.
"Twilight!" Fluttershy shouted.
"S-sorry I panicked! Who knows what else he's learned! We can't be too careful."
And then I passed out. Now I am the one unconscious!
