AppleShy: The Series

Buckwheat

The closer Applejack got to Buckwheat, the more rage she felt inside, and the more she wanted to call him out, and tell him what she felt needed to be said. She used the thought of a scared Fluttershy being bullied by the huge Stallion as fuel to cover the slight amount of nervousness she felt. As she got closer, she half-expected it to not be him, and actually be a mistake on her part, but when she finally got close enough to be sure, it was beyond a doubt for her. Before she could make a decision to go back and avoid the drama she knew she was getting herself into, the pony that Buckwheat was talking to noticed her, and because he was facing her, when he looked at her, it caused Buckwheat to turn around and look. His immediate reaction was to put on a big smile ignoring the glare he was getting from Applejack.

"Hey, sugar long time no see," Buckwheat said, leaving his friend to meet up with Applejack.

"Can it, Buckwheat, ah know what you're here for, an' it ain' happenin'"

Applejack continued to glare at him, her voice getting louder,"Ya don't go insultin' MY mare, threatenin' MY friends, then even think about us even bein' friends! Yer a coward Buckwheat, a filthy COWARD,"

Buckwheat gave his friend a a 'What the heck" kind of look, almost to make Applejack know there were other ponies around.

"Hey, woah, Applejack, Ah dun know what yer talkin' bout!" The stallion said, lying just to make the mare angrier.

"Don't lie! Juss makes you more than a coward! An' don't go anywhere near Fluttershy again or you'll regret it!"

"It's not Fluttershy ah want ta be near," He said, testing the waters at the most inappropriate time.

"An' what's that supposed ta mean?" The orange pony rebuked.

"Ya know exactly what ah mean, don't deny ya still have feelin's for me,"

Applejack was appalled at his bluntness, "Ah swear on Celestia ah don't. Ah've never been more sure 'bout anything in ma whole life, Buck,"

He dismissed her statement ,"Sure feels good ta hear your voice call me Buck, 'been ages since the last time we even talked," The stallion smiled slyly.

The orange pony shook her head, utterly disappointed in the stallions feeble attempt to seduce her.

"After this, ah hope we NEVER talk again, you insulted the pony ah'm with and ma friend. You disgust me,"

Again, the stallion dismissed the insults, "Pony? Ya mean mare. MARE, Applejack, you're with a MARE. Just cut it out already, it's weird and pathetic, you bein' with a mare is just...unnatural,"

Once again Applejack was shocked at how forward he was with his ignorance.

"Ya don't even know, Buckwheat. She's the best thing ta ever happen to me, you were just a waste of time, just like what you're doin' now. WASTING YOUR TIME," The orange pony felt like that should shut him up.

The stallion calmly pondered it, or more-so, a completely different response.

"Applejack, yer so funny sometimes,"

The orange pony was immediately confused by this, still mad.
"How so?"

A sinister smiled appeared on his face,"Ah remember one of the biggest things ya wanted when we were together were foals,"

Applejack looked down. That one hit home. She knew it was true. Applejack knew that it's something she's wanted her whole life, something that she has dreamt about since she was a filly.

"Y-you're a terrible pony, Buckwheat,"She turned her head away for a second, then returned her attention to him, as mad as she'd ever been, "Ya don't juss show up, outta the hay and cause all this drama expectin' me to love you again! It'll NEVER happen, you were the biggest mistake of my life, and today's juss makin' it more truer than ever! Yeah, we may not be able to have kids, but at least ah'm HAPPY with her, and not unhappy like ah was with you!" The orange pony was inches from his face, breathing hard from anger.

"Now now now, 'jackie," He said, using his nickname for her on purpose, "Don't go makin' a scene right near sugarcube corner! That can't be good for their business to have some mare runnin' her mouth off at somepony,"
Applejack was so red in the face, she felt she was about to explode.

"Now before ya go yellin' at me again. Let's be civilized ponies about this. Yellin' ain't necessary, Applejack,"
for a third time now, Applejack was flabbergasted at the rudeness of the pony.

"Civilized? CIVILIZED? Civilized ain't cornerin' and threatenin' the MARE I'm with, and insultin' ma friend! That's anything BUT civilized," She placed special emphasis on mare.

"Ok. Ah made a mistake, everypony does, it ain't ma fault that ah miss ya,"

"Ah know what yer tryin' ta do, juss cuz we haven't talked in a long time, doesn't mean Ah don't still know yer tricks,"
The stallion shook his head, and sighed ,"Look, ah made a mistake, but ah wouldn't be here if ah didn't think ah was best for you,"

"You ain't, only ah know who's best for me, and it ain't you,"

"Well it sure as hay ain't no mare!'

At this point in the argument, Fluttershy finally made her way out of the shop with bag full of carrots. She was planning to go to Rarity's shop to find Applejack. She happily trotted along, unknowingly walking right towards the last thing she'd want to see.

"Yes it is, Buckwheat! She makes me happy, you...ya just make me SICK."
He pondered that statement for nearly half a minute.

"Ok, now that just hurts ma feelings!"

Applejack was speechless. She just stared at him with an "are you bucking serious?!" expression on her face.

Fluttershy jumped when she finally saw the two ponies across the street from her. All she saw the Applejack staring right Buckwheat, unable to make out the expression her face. The pegasus squealed, in spite of herself. She didn't know whether to join Applejack or just run. Come on Fluttershy..stop being so scared...stop being so weak...[ She ultimately decided not to join in, and hid so they wouldn't see her.

The stallion finally realized he went too far, soon feeling a little desperation. He heard Fluttershy's squeal, an assumed since Applejack still had the shocked look on her face; that she didn't. He looked around nervously, looking for his friend, now nowhere to be found.
Suddenly, in a last desperate move, he pulled Applejack in, and forcefully kissed her. Knowing Fluttershy was watching, it was his final insult to her for being the one Applejack chose.

Fluttershy was shocked, and when she realized fully what just had happened, she didn't feel sad or horrified, she felt pure anger; anger that's been building up inside her since their first encounter. Soon it was a full blown rage. She dropped the bag of carrots where she stood. And from across the street, she burst in air, crushing right into the stallion right as Applejack forced herself out of the stallions kiss. Applejack had no clue what was going on, until she heard the enraged Fluttershy yelling at the top of her lungs at the dazed Buckwheat, now a few feet away from the impact.

"How could you?! How could you?! She's my mare, and always will! and YOU think you can just take her from me?! You are horrible! I've never met someone so mean! Don't EVER, and I mean EVER try to kiss her again! MEANIE!"
The stallion stood in awe, realizing he has made a huge mistake, he got clumsily, very dazed by the shy Pegasus' outburst.

Fluttershy's rage quickly subsided, and she quickly flew behind Applejack, fearfully expecting for the stallion to want to get her back after her tackling him.

After a good minute of silence, all three barely grasping what had just happened, the stallion finally spoke ,"A real stallion admits when he's been defeated. Yeh, this is gonna sting me for a while, but ah got plenty of mares waitin' for me-"

"Just go, Buckwheat" Applejack interrupted, adding insult to injury. Without another word, the stallion left, with what little remaining dignity he had in tact.

Applejack immediately turned to the embarrassed Fluttershy, in aw, and instantly kissed her, long and passionately. She felt no words could explain how amazed she was at Fluttershy. This of course, made the shy pegasus about 10 times more embarrassed.

It took Fluttershy a little bit just to recover from the surprise kiss she just got.
"Fluttershy...that was amazin'"

"I um, hope I didn't hurt him," Fluttershy said sincerely ,"But that kiss took it too far...I've never felt so angry, I can't believe I did that!"

Applejack giggled ,"Ah don't think it's possible to love you any more than ah do now, sugarcube...you stood up for me, you stood up for us,"

Fluttershy blushed ,"You're the only pony I'd ever do this for..."

The earth pony giggled again ,"You're just too nice, darlin'" Then she thought for a second ,"Didja get carrots for Angel?"
."Yes. um-," The pegasus flew over to where she had launched herself at Buckwheat, picked the bag up and came back to a smiling Applejack.
'Let's go home, Sugarcube," She said, the Pegasus nodding in agreement.

On the way back, the two ponies shared their stories about what just had happened, Applejack emphatically emphasized how cool she thought Fluttershy is when she's mad, flattering the shy pony who definitely wasn't used to being called cool. Applejack knew it was a huge thing for Fluttershy to have finally stuck up for her, and made sure she flattered her with how awesome it was.

Later that night, after enjoying the rest of the day with each other, Applejack turned to her mare on the other side of the bed, and softly snuggled into her. She admired the sleeping pegasus, and smiled adoringly once more. She knew that out of all the choices she's made in her life, good ones or bad ones, that this one, was her best one.

Applejack snuggled into her mare, just a little bit more.

"Happy 1 month, sugarcube,"
